Press Brief for Open Days:
• Bamboo is one of the greenest and most versatile building materials available today and has immense capacity to play a key role in Integrated Sustainable Development of Asian and Southeast Asian countries . India is the second largest producer of Bamboo and our Artisans are the Best in the world.
• Centre for Green Building Material and Technology, Bangalore is organizing an OPEN DAY with Exhibition for prospective students for their year long Distance Education courses in “Bamboo Application Technology for the Academic Session 2012-2013” on May 20, 2012 at Bamboo Symphony, Bangalore. ITI students, Diploma holders, Graduates and even Artisans can join courses at different levels to gain proficiency with this material being called the GREEN GOLD!! We are inviting other professionals like architects, engineers, students from various colleges to attend the event.
• -The Course covers the focus areas of Applications of this Wonder Material as also the Research and Development in this field and its future prospects.
• -This is the only Structured Course on Bamboo in the whole world. • - The Affiliation process of the course is under progress with Dayalbagh University (Deemed), Agra,
UP • -CGBMT is targeting to increase the no of centres for the course to at least 50 in the next 5 years to
cover the Rural areas as well. Since the course can be a great catalyst for Rural and Tribal Development.
• -Our resource organizations are IPIRTI, Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute, Bangalore, NID, National Institute of Design, Bangalore, Manasaram Architects, Bangalore, Aditi Constructions, Bangalore, and several other organizations who have been engaged in this field for several years.
• -We are also using this opportunity to showcase the works and products done by our Students in collaboration with the organization.
