TYPE 086BSEMIAUTOMATIC BAG CLOSING MACHINE

The 086B features a power breakoff and closure advance that will close at speeds up to 30 bags per minute. The 086B is constructed primarily of stainless steel and is assembled with metric fasteners.

The Model 100 utilizes Series RJ (medium duty) closures.

The Model 200 utilizes Series R (medium duty) and Series S (heavy duty) closures with no adjustments required. With the addition of the optional label conversion kits, Model 200 has the ability to use Series “CR, “L” and “U” closure-labels (see print area specifi ca-tions). Using the supplied hex wrench, the closure roll supports are positioned to accept the chosen closure-label. The proper label hub is installed and the appropriate lok guide shim(s) are removed.

The standard closer is supplied with a table top stand includ-ing feet, suction cups or a combination of the two. An op-tional fl oor stand is available as well as mounting brack-ets for an Oliver Slicer. Refer to the “Mounting Bracket, Oliver Slicer” catalog page for detailed information.

086B Model 200

086B Model 200PB

Model 200P has the same features as the 200 but also includes a printer. Printed copy is applied to a small paper label that is attached to the plastic closure. There are four printer model choices. Mod-els B and C have a band type printer for printing date and/or code information. Models D and E have a block printer, which holds “grooved press-on” rubber type. Press–on type permits customizing printed copy. Up to two lines of type are possible. The band printer head, block printer head and ink rolls must be ordered separately.

The bag trimmer removes excess bag neck material above the closure while the bag is being closed by the 086B machine.

The trimmer’s ceramic blade offers 100 times the life of a conventional steel blade.

Trimmers are available in two models: Low and High Profi le. The High Profi le trims the bag neck approximately 1.5” (3.8 cm) above the closure. The Low Profi le trims approximately 1” (2.5 cm) above the closure.

Z0087013 Kit-Floor Stand

The Kwik Lok® 087B Semiautomatic Bag Closing Machine uses many of the same closures offered with automatic bag closing machines. The 087B accepts labels printed with the Kwik Lok® 884 Thermal Printer.

The 087B features a closure sensor that utilizes a fiber optic thru-beam photo eye. This enhancement over the original 087A replaces several mechanical devices, thereby simplifying the design and improving reliability.

The machine is supplied with a table top stand or will also mount to any one inch outside diameter pipe or tube.

The Kwik Lok® 088A Semiautomatic Bag Closing Machine closes bagged products utilizing automatic bag closures and bag closure-labels. The K-NRP model will accept both medium duty (J-NRP) and heavy duty (K-NRP) closures with no setup changes required of the machine. Also, the KM-NRP model will accept both medium duty (JM-NRP) and heavy duty (KM-NRP) closures with no setup changes. To use closure-labels a separate closure reel assembly is required.

The 088A is a fixed speed machine and will close bags up to 50 per minute. Due to its inherent design there is a package weight limitation of 5lb. (2.3kg). Packages that exceed this amount must be supported underneath by a conveyor belt or similar device.

The machine is supplied with a table top stand to be used in hand fed operations. Optional floor stands are available for hand fed and automatically fed operations.

The Kwik Lok® Type 887A Model H is a crank adjustable stand. This model allows for mounting of the 088AA or 088AAP (printer) Closer along with a 1082L8 Bag Tensioner. The stand is primarily used for automatically fed operations where the 088A is located above an existing con-veyor. This system is intended for closing vertically oriented small packages (i.e. 80 count tortillas).

The stand is available in both left and right hand confi gurations. A right hand stand utilizes a right hand 088A and a left hand 1082L8. A left hand stand utilizes a left hand 088A and a right hand 1082L8.

The fl oor stand allows for the mount-ing of either hand 088AA or 088AAP closers. It has a bolt adjustable height feature and it is portable. The system is intended for hand feed applications

Optional Bag Trimmer

As an option, the 088AA and 088AAP are offered with a bag neck trimmer. The trimmer is powered off the closer and utilizes a single circular rotating blade to cut the bag. It creates a bag neck with a length of 1 3/4” (4.5 cm) above the clo-sure. The trimmer is readily detachable from closer. It is available in right-hand and left-hand confi gurations.

Height adjustments can be quickly made by turning the crank handle. The 088 can be angled out and away from the conveyor’s side, which can assist in the feeding of wider packages.

The Kwik Lok® 1002F uses the Series "R" and Series "S" Striplok® Bag Closures.

The Model C features a Trodat® printer which uses "grooved, press-on" rubber type. Press-on type permits customizing of imprint copy. The Model D features a Trodat® band printer for printing dates. Models C & D require the use of Series "RL", "SL", “RLP” or “SLP” closures. These closures are manufactured with a small paper label affixed to the closure.

The 1002F can be portable, or permanently mounted. Suction-cup feet allow the portable unit to be used on any flat, clean surface. Bolt holes are pre-drilled for permanent mounting (bolts are not included). A kit is also available for mounting the machine on an Oliver slicer. The Kwik Lok® 1002FP features a motorized printer that is actuated when the closed bag is removed. Models are available for closing on either the Series RL (medium duty) or SL (heavy duty) closures. The printed copy is applied to a small paper label that is attached to the plastic closure.Models B and C utilize a band type printer for printing price, date and/or code information.

Three models of the Kwik Lok® 1003B are available: The Model A, Model P and Model BP. The Model A uses the Series "RJ" Closures; Models P and BP use Series "RLS" and “RLSP (preprinted “SELL BY”) Closures. These closures have a small paper label affixed to the closure to enhance the print quality.

TENSIONERThe stand is primarily used for automati-cally fed operations where the 865 is above an existing conveyor. The stand allows for the addition of a 1082L Bag Tensioner. Height adjustments can be quickly made by turning the crank handle. The 865 can be set at a nose upwards angle to accom-modate closing heavy bulk type packages. The 890D Bag Trimmer cuts off excess bag neck material, leaving 2.5” (6.35 cm) above the closure.

The trimmer can be mounted on the 865AA and 865AB (Extended Drive) Closer. The unit can be easily removed by loosening two knobs. There is a coupler that ties the trimmer into the 865 Closing Machine.

Trims the bag top utilizing a single rotating 3” (7.6 cm) diameter hardened steel blade.

The trimmer comes with a bag scrap vacuum chute that accepts a U.S. standard 2-1/4” (5.72 cm) vacuum hose (i.e. as a standard shop vacuum).

Designed for large heavy packages such as baler and bulk pack-ages up to 50 lb.. (22.7 kg) in content weight. The conveyor will accept the 865 Model CZ90NRP Bag Closer.

The Kwik Lok® Type 902B Stand is used when it is not desirable to permanently attach the Kwik Lok closing system to an existing conveyor. An automatic bag closing machine and an 1082L8 Bag Tensioner mounts directly to the stand. The stand, with closing system, can be wheeled away from the conveyor as required. The stand can be used with the 872XLS, 872XLS LM, 872XLS PB, or 893 Automatic Bag Closing machines and is available in both right (R) and left (L) hand configurations. The height of the closing system is adjustable by the use of a hand crank mechanism. The stand is constructed of aluminum and stainless steel materials utilizing metric fasteners.Bag neck rods, bag tensioner mount and bag closing machine mounts are available as accessory items, if purchased without a closing system.

There are three models available and selection is based on the location of the product to be closed.

The Z8025 R/L Closing System Support is required when an existing conveyor does not have the structural integrity to support the weight of a Kwik Lok closing system. An automatic bag closing machine and a 1082L8 Bag Tensioner mounts directly to the support while the support is bolted to the side of the conveyor. The support can be used with the 872XLS, 872XLS LM, 872XLS PB, 873A or 893 Automatic Bag Closing Machines and is available in both right (R) and left (L) hand configurations.

Automatic and manual label recoilers are available to rewind the completed labels as the strip exits the printer. Series T-220, TM-220, and CJ-220 labels must be rewound twice prior to use with a bag closing machine. The Kwik Lok® 884C Thermal Printer is designed to preprint labels prior to application. The recommended print speed is 640 labels per minute. The printer can be configured to print faster or slower to accommodate customer print quality requirements. Recommended ribbon is 600 meters in length and capable of printing 25,000 closure-labels per roll.

The 884C will print on four label sizes: 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” (7 cm x 7 cm), 7/8” x 2-3/4” (2.22 cm x 7 cm), 1-3/16” (3.01 cm) x 2-3/4” (6.99 cm) and 1-15/16” x 2-1/4” (4.9 cm x 5.7 cm). The 884C can print text, bar codes, and simple graphics on one side of the label, in one color. The other side can be custom printed in any number of colors, and include information such as brand name and logo.

After the labels are printed they can be applied by hand or run through a Kwik Lok® automatic or semiautomatic bag closing machine.

Label design and printing software is required for printing with the 884C. Typically this software is installed on a Windows compatible computer. “BarTender® UltraLite” label printing software by Seagull Scientific is provided with the printer for no additional charge. The printer has, as standard, USB and ethernet ports.

The printer utilizes the 20 watt eSolarMark® Fiber Laser from Matthews Marking SystemsTM for printing alpha-numeric text and images onto the Kwik Lok closure. A kit to widen the conveyor (for packages in excess of 20” (45 cm) can be furnished. The conveyor can also be ordered with a brake-clutch unit that provides bag actuation. Three conveyor lengths are available.

TERMS: All Kwik Lok Products are sold Ex Works. Terms available on approved credit are net cash 30 days. Custom printed closure-labels, automatic equipment and large volume orders may require payment in advance.

RETURNED MACHINES AND PARTS: All parts or machines returned to Kwik Lok must be pre-approved and issued an RMA number through Customer Service. The RMA number must be on all documents, includ-ing the bill of lading and/or cartons. Parts or machines arriving at any Kwik Lok Factory without pre-approval and a RMA number will be refused and returned to shipper.

Seller warrants to its end user customers that, for a period of one (1) year following shipment from Seller’s fac-tory, Seller’s equipment will be free from material defects in workmanship or materials. In the event of a breach of the foregoing warranty, the end user customer’s sole and exclusive remedy will be to return the defective equip-ment or component parts to Seller’s factory prior to the end of such one (1) year period, freight prepaid, for repair or replacement. Seller will repair or replace the defective equipment or component parts as determined in Seller’s sole discretion, and Seller return the equipment or component parts to the end user customer, freight prepaid, at the same location.

This warranty does not apply to equipment problems or failures resulting from abuse, neglect or failure to operate or maintain equipment in accordance with Seller’s recommendations and instructions, or resulting from the use of any parts, supplies or services not manufactured, supplied or provided by Seller. The disassembly of electric motors, gear motors or clutches in Seller’s equipment will void this warranty as to such equipment. Whether a particular equipment or component part contains material defects in workmanship or materials, and whether this warranty is applicable to a contended defect, will be determined by Seller in its reasonable judgment.
