You score in badminton by hitting the shuttlecock with your racquet and the shuttlecock lands in your opponents side of the court. A rally in sports is when a "Ball" goes over the net multiple times without the "Ball" going out of bounds or anybody scores. In badminton a rally ends when the shuttlecock hits the floor, or if a fault is called by a umpire. A fault Occurs when the shuttle: lands outside the court; passes through or under the net; does not pass over the net; touches the roof, ceiling or any side walls; touches a player or player's clothing; touches any person or object out of bounds; is caught, held and slung on the racket; is hit twice in a row by the same player on the same play; or if both partners in doubles hit the shuttle before it is returned to the other side. 1 Badminton is played with a shuttlecock which is a feathered device used when playing badminton. singles or in pairs. The game is played on a rectangular court and has a net dividing the two opposite

sides. You score in badminton by hitting the shuttlecock with your racquet and the shuttlecock lands in

your opponents side of the court. Either side can only hit the shuttlecock once before it crosses over the

net again. A rally in sports is when a "Ball" goes over the net multiple times without the "Ball" going out

of bounds or anybody scores. In badminton a rally ends when the shuttlecock hits the floor, or if a fault

is called by a umpire. A fault Occurs when the shuttle: lands outside the court; passes through or under

Badminton is played with a shuttlecock which is a feathered device used when playing

badminton. In the case of gym class we'll be playing with plastic shuttlecock's. The shuttlecock has a

unique shape which allows it to fall down from the air slow, which allows the player to hit the

shuttlecock back across the net. Badminton is played competitively indoors, and recreationally outside

as well. Since we're playing indoors in gym class wind speed won't affect the shuttlecock in air.

Badminton was created in the mid-1800's in British India by solders that were in the area. The game

diffused back to England throughout time, where a league was created and rules were put into place.

Overtime countries formed their own badminton clubs and badminton evolved into what it is today.

Badminton was made an Olympic sport in 1992 and includes five different events. 2Badminton is played

until 20, however a team must win by 2. If two teams go up to 30 then the winning score will be 30-9.

Scores can't go above 30 in badminton.
