Background

Insurance business is one of the economic activities that have an important role in national economic development. One of the key functions in Life Insurance Company is underwriting. Life Underwriting, also called selection of risk, is the process of assessing and classifying the degree of risk that a proposed insured represents. To carry out its duties and obligations, a Life Underwriter should be based on profession-alism, knowledge and skills required, objectively, honestly, critically and responsibly, based on the rules in the life insurance industry.

PERUJIPerkumpulan Underwriter Jiwa Indonesia (Association of Life Underwriter Indonesia - ALUI) :

PERUJI is a national life insurance underwriters association established in 10th July 2014. The purpose of PERUJI including as following:

o Increase and develop professional issue capability of life insurance underwriterso Support the development of risk selection knowledge in Indonesiao Increase the member’s comprehension on risk selectiono Promote and maintain the implementation of high-standard competence and enforcement of Underwriter Code of Conduct based on awareness and responsibility among the memberso Promote and develop the maintenance of fair cooperation among the members of associationo Involve in the enhancement of life insurance business in order to achieve Indonesian development.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVE

o Gather all Life Underwriter from all Insurance Company in Indonesia, to create synergy and coordination among partici pants.o Facilitate all life underwriters to improve their underwriting skill and knowledge to have the same understanding and policy among life underwriter across all insurance company in Indonesia.o Provide update information regarding underwriter profession from the perspective of business world development in general, underwriting science development and the development scope of work & accountability of an underwriter.o A learning site for insurance industry development, particularly in the fields that relate to underwriting applications and the overall development of insurance business.

These seminar objectives can be apply by the seminar participants as a continuous learning and reference to determine better step and actions in the future, so they can improve their quality in underwriting skills.
