Electronic DevicesThe Temple ISD policy and the Student Code of Conduct allow students to carry cellular phones or other electronic communication devices during the school day. All personal devices must remain turned off and out of sight while students are in class, including during all testing, unless the student has received prior approval from the teacher for instructional purposes. Improper use of a cellular phone or other electronic communication devices during the school day will result in the item being confiscated and a charge of $15.00.
Dress Code Students are required to use good judgment, to respect themselves and others, and to demonstrate modesty. Temple ISD does not permit clothing with pictures, emblems, or writing that is lewd, offensive, vulgar, or obscene or that advertises or depicts tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs, or any other substance that students are prohibited from having or using at school. All clothing should be appropriate to the student’s age, the school setting, and weather conditions. To view the entire Student Dress and Grooming Code, please consult the Student Handbook.
Some general guidelines to assist students and parents with Back to School Shopping:•Pants must fit at the waist and be the appropriate size for the student. •Skirts and shorts should reach to the top of the knee when standing.•All shirts must have sleeves that cover the shoulders.•Shoes with wheels (heelies) are not permitted. Flip Flops are not permitted.•Clothing may not have visible holes (by design “distressed” or wear) above the knee.
Student Identification Student ID cards (Secondary Only) must be presented when requested by any administrator, teacher, school employee, or law enforcement officer, while at school or upon entering a school-sponsored event on a student ticket. Failure to produce an ID when requested may result in disciplinary action per the Student Code of Conduct. ID’s will be printed with a bar code. The ID bar code is necessary for use in checking out library books and in the purchase of food in the cafeteria. One ID card is provided at no charge to the student. ID cards are the property of the school and will be turned in when a student transfers or withdraws from school. If the ID card has come apart or has been mutilated, defaced, or altered in any way, it is no longer valid and must be replaced. If a student loses the card, the student should immediately notify the main office. The cost for replacement of the ID card is $5.
Bullying Prevention
Bullying is not tolerated by Temple ISD and any student or parent of a student who believes that their student or another student has experienced bullying or that a student has engaged in bullying is encouraged to immediately report the incident. You can report bullying to your teacher, counselor or principal. You can also anonymously report bullying at www.TISD.org. Temple ISD takes all reports of bullying seriously, and investigates every instance we’re made aware of.
