This workshop helps participants to get themost out of the remainder of the course.It covers key, advanced areas of Excel that arerelevant to oil and gas nancial modelling andproject evaluation.
Days 2 - 4: Financial modelling fundamentals
The rest of the course is divided into three parts.
Part One provides a sound understanding of the
principles of nancial modelling and the practicalapplication of these to real world situations.
Topics covered include:
- Introduction to nancial modelling- Types of models for the oil and gas sector- Principles of nancial modelling- Best practice guidelines and spreadsheetmodelling standards
- Designing for exibility and scalability- Designing for consistency, usability andfunctionality
- Checks and balances- Using VBA in nancial models
Part Two applies the principles learned inpart one to project evaluations and allowsparticipants to improve their practicalapplication of project evaluation concepts.

- Principles of risk and return- The role of project evaluation- Free cash ow- Forecasting future performance- Capital expenditure modelling- Modelling uncertainty- Discounted cash ow modelling

He is skilled in the development and maintenanceof analytical tools and nancial models for middle-market companies to large corporates, at all levelsof complexity, in both domestic and international

He has worked extensively with Chevron plus manyother producers and explorers over many years. Hehas trained oil and gas specialists from a wide variety
