About Us
Our mission
The Object of Bikers Ride Out For Prems is to purchase life saving and life maintaining medical equipment for Irish Neonatal Units and Children's hospitals where the hospital budget has reached its limit and cannot afford to purchase this necessary equipment. We also want to supply breast pumps for each neonatal unit which can be used by parents of premature babies who are not in a financial position to rent this costly equipment thus supplying life saving breast milk to infants whose intestinal systems cannot tolerate artificial feeding thus taking the pressure off milk banks and easing financial hardship to the families of preterm infants or seriously ill babies.
ABOUT US
Bikers Ride Out For Prems began with Blood Bike Lenister in 2014 and we took to the roads for our first Annual Ride Out in April 2016, it was a huge success and we spent just over €13,000 euro on hospital equipment which was delivered to 9 Irish Neonatal Units across Ireland.

Presentation of equipment to the Neonatal Unit in Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Jacqui O’Shaughnessy also ran her own personal event called Born Too Soon and we joined forces to purchase a Hot Cot, Controller, Driver and Mattress which cost €4,182 and also donated gifts to the unit for mums of preterm babies.
SECTION 2 GOVERNANCE
STRUCTURE & MANAGEMENT
Bikers Ride Out For Prems is a non profit charity where all donations go toward the purchase of medical equipment for Neonatal Units or directly into the hospital fund i.e. Temple Street. The only deductions made from public donations goes towards the purchase of stationary, necessary office supplies and purchase of items used for charitable collections i.e. November Boxes.
Bikers Ride Out For Prems are currently in the process of applying for charitable status with the Charity Regulator Authority
We have signed up to the good governance code and are in the process of signing up to the 7 steps of fundraising principles.
We are made up of a Director, 3 Trustees, Treasurer, Secretary and supporting volunteers.
OUR ACTIVITIES
2016 has been an exciting year for Bikers Ride Out For Prems, after working alongside Blood Bike Lenister, we decided to go it alone and we have applied for Charitable Status with the Charity Regulator. 2016 has seen our first “Ride Out” as Bikers Ride Out For Prems. The event was a huge success and we purchased just over €13,000 worth of equipment and delivered these to 9 Neonatal Units
We also had our Grow a Goatee or loose a beard, and raised over €200 which we plan to run as an annual event. Keep an eye on our facebook page and website for further details on how to sign up to this. In 2017 we plan to link this event in with a Halloween Ball and have the “Shave” on the night.
We also worked in conjunction with the Irish Neonatal Health Alliance to celebrate World Prem Day on the 17th November with our November Boxes, a euro a day for the month of December.
We had a massive response to this. The final amount raised will be listed on our facebook page and website once all boxes have been returned.
St. Paul’s N.S. also held a “Wear Purple” day and a local photographer Damien Faulkner generously offered to take pictures for our facebook page and website. They raised €320.00
A raffle was held in aid of Temple Street Childrens Hospital and a golf classic in Portmarknock Golf Club. All proceeds from this event were lodged directly into the Temple Street Hospital Fund
We also paid a visit to a special wee man called Ceejay McArdle who is suffering from Leukaemia and is motorbike mad. He was a pure inspiration to us all
