Learning State How do you best learn? Begin to utilize you peripheral vision for learning new material. Remember learning is state dependent – play with that today, learn something new in the morning. As you go about your normal day, review what you have learned by recalling your learning state. Sensory Acuity

Exercise 1

Go to the ocean, sit down, close your eyes. What are the subtle sound differences between the waves crashing on the shore? Do the waves close by you, sound different than those further away? Do the waves sound different with the tides or the last times you were at the beach?

Exercise 2

Sit in the middle of a busy city or park, close your eyes. How many different sounds can you make out? What are the differences in volume, tonality, speed? Especially with alike sources, like a police siren, are they all created equal? Can make out more sounds really far away, if you concentrated?

Exercise 3

On a particular day, pay attention to one person in your life; observe the different moods of the person. What differences in tonality, speed of speech, and expressions on their face do you observe in the different situations? What do you notice about their, eyes, their mouth, and their jaw…

Exercise 4

How do the steps differ of the people you live with? Can you tell who is who? How does each person walk down a flight of stairs and up? How does this person move on a flat surface? Is there a difference in how they walk in different rooms?

1. Each week take some time to consider what would you do if money was no object. Then sit down and write out the plan of action as detailed as possible to get you there. It might be a new profession; or a new business situation. With you plan of action and all of its details, notice what comes up for you.
