Golden Slipper Award for Service ExcellenceTheGoldenSlipperAwardforServiceExcellencesymbolizesextraordinaryservice(“goingtheextramile”).Theawardisbased on the rendering of a story about a patient’s slippers that were lost in the hospital and could not be found. The hospital administrator offered to pay the patient for his lost slippers, but he was not satisfied by that offer. He wanted a pair like theonesthatwerelost.Next,thestaffofferedtoreplacehisslippers. The patient was given a different pair of slippers, but he was still not satisfied because the slippers were not like the ones that were lost.
