Introduction

The multifaceted nature of The Salvation Army’s work presents numerousopportunities to recognize the involvement and effort of both Salvationists andnon-Salvationists for the extraordinary contributions that are made on behalfand in the name of, The Salvation Army.

“From the day William Booth stepped out by faith to find his destiny, The SalvationArmy has been encouraged, supported, and sponsored by friends who have neverdonned the uniform of the Movement.

Their motives were similar to the Founder’s own: an awareness of human need and acompassionate response. Each desired only the knowledge that life was better forsomeone and ultimately the whole community.

Salvationists in every land recognize that many of their good deeds would go undoneif they were not reinforced by the ‘army behind the Army’.”

From The Salvation Army Year Book

The first section of the catalog is to recognize individuals who distinguish them-selves in service to and through The Salvation Army, making available variouscivic awards to honor non-Salvationists and Salvationists alike. This catalogcontains a compilation of awards presented on the divisional and local levelswithin the United States.

As well as these civic awards, there is a second section of recognition certifi-cates, unique to Salvation Army programming, which are used to honor andidentify Salvationists who are members and active participants within their owncorps/unit groups.

Whatever the need might be in recognizing outstanding membership, contribu-tions and service within the community and corps setting, it is our hope that youwill find the appropriate item here.
