AW Green Shield Trials2017/18 Season
Trial dates
The University of New South Wales Cricket Club is seeking young cricketers for the 2017/18 AW Green Shield season. The matches are of a very high standard on some of the best ovals in Sydney against other grade clubs in the Sydney Cricket Association played just before Christmas and after New Year.
Recent players from UNSWCC Green Shield teams have gone on to represent at the State and National levels from Under 17 to seniors. At UNSW Cricket Club, Green Shield players are also encouraged, if available, to also play in the Grade sides and receive guidance from the senior players within the club.
Current second grade player, and captain of the 2013/14 Green Shield team, Sutha Thanabalasingam, who was also assistant coach of the UNSW Green Shield squad in 2014/15, will be the coach for the season.
Sutha has played for UNSW since 2012 and is a batting all-rounder, bowling left arm wrist spin.
Other first grade players will also be involved in the coaching and training.
If you are interested in trialling for selection for the 2017/18 season (you must be 16 years or under as at 31 August 2017) then come to our trials:
SCG Indoor Centre (Driver Ave, Moore Park)
5.30 - 8:00pm Thursday 27th April
5.30 - 8:00pm Thursday 4th May
5.30 - 8:00pm Thursday 11th May
