THE GD EXPERIENCE: (please provide at least 5 lines of description)
The topic being philosophical, it was subject to a huge variety of interpretations. One of the guys started
off with some thing about Advaita Philosophy and the teachings of Siddhartha. Each of us brought inexamples from different areas to speak for or against the topic. I presented a balanced view, brought in the
media issue ,how the audience may be led to believe something as a fact which may just be one side of the
story as it happened in the Iraq war, also how there exist some absolute facts that are not open to differentinterpretations. Most of us agreed with the topic and discussion was totally based on examples.

How would you rate the Chaos level in the GD (on a scale of 1-10, 1 being most peaceful 10 being most
chaotic): 5/10.
Any observations on mistakes you committed in the GD: I spoke 3-4 times in the GD which I believe wasslightly on the lower side considering the fact that I did have points to speak about.
Any observations of what you could have done better in the GD: More active participation would have
definitely helped.
Any tips for GD preparation: Lots of practice definitely helps. One should have fair amount of practice
with abstract topics especially for the C GD.
PERSONAL INTERVIEW:
No of interviewers in the Panel: 3
List of the questions asked and your responses:(Intro questions/acad based questions/work experience based/general awareness/personal questions)
The interview started with questions regarding my work ex. I had worked in the financial domain
(mortgage banking) and I was quizzed in detail about various aspects of my job (concepts in mortgagebanking like underwriting, ware housing, secondary marketes etc..).
One of the panel members asked me about my work life, the time I spend in office, the time I sleep , thetime I wake up etc. He asked me whether I believe that I would be able to survive the rigors of an MBA
program at IIMC given my not so hectic schedule and the reason I believe so.
They then moved on to my academics. They had the list of all the subjects that I had done during my
graduation and they asked a few questions from a few subjects but not in much detail. However the did
ask me about my B Tech project in some detail.
Overall it was a pretty comfortable interview. No stress questions
Any observations on mistakes you committed in the PI:
Any observations of what you could have done better in the PI:
Any tips for Personal Interview preparation:
Pick out your favorite subjects in engineering/graduation and prepare them well. Concentrate on how you
explain the technical concepts to the panel in a simplified/ illustrative manner. Choose your strong areas
and try your best to lead the interview in that direction.
