Generally, whenever Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School day school has been cancelled for inclement weather, evening school classes will be cancelled. Make-up classes will be scheduled at the discretion of the Director of Adult Education.

At the conclusion of the Adult Education Program, students will be given a certificate in their respective programs if they have attended 75% of the required class.

It is a school policy that no one is allowed into the building or any of the classrooms at any time unless you are an evening student.

C.E.U.’s and P.D.P.’s are available upon request for some courses.

This twelve week survey course will introduce the

student to the physical and chemical processes associated

with water quality, pollution, and treatment of liquid

wastes, as they pertain to Municipal and Industrial

Operations. The student will be exposed to the function

of related equipment and support systems and the

environmental responsibilities required to safely and

properly operate, maintain and manage a Wastewater

Treatment Facility. Topics covered include wastewater

flow, wastewater characteristics, collections systems,

regulations, mathematics, laboratory and various

treatment processes. The course will concentrate on

The Ophthalmic Medical Assistant Program is a

certificate program to help answer the need for qualified

assistants in ophthalmology practices.

This program is designed to teach the basic skills needed

to perform eye exams and prepare the patient for the

ophthalmologist.

With a combination of classroom teaching and a

hands-on clinic in a local ophthalmology office

(Advanced Eye Center, 500 Faunce Corner Rd.) this

program is designed to give the student a basic

foundation of ophthalmic knowledge.

If you are an apprentice and want to become licensed as a Journeyman Electrician, then this is the course for you.

An apprentice is defined as one who is working and studying under the direct supervision of an appropriate licensed

individual. The MINIMUM qualifications are as follows: An apprentice must be supervised for 8,000 hours and such

supervision must be for a period of not less than 4 years. As well as 4 years of employment, and 8,000 hours as an

“apprentice” under the direct supervision of a licensed journeyman, you will need to SUCCESSFULLY complete 600

total hours (75 hours per module - 8 modules required) of this program.

This course will continue with woodworking basics;

layout using a framing square.

the course to take. The first class will be an orientation to

Basic Machine Shop Training

This course is a self-paced learning environment in which a

student can complete one or more projects in any one session.

Total progress per session will undoubtedly depend upon prior

experience and/or individual’s ability to perform the

operations as instructed.

Related Subjects—Measure and measurements, shop sketches

and blueprint reading, review related math, shop problems and

safety.
