Product overview

LIGHTINGHigh Heat Resistant PBT, High Gloss and Low Gas PC/ABS, Diffusion PC

Automotive head and rear  lamps are composed of many engineering plastic components such as lenses, bezels, and reflectors. We not only provide highly transparent PC and low emission high heat ABS, but also  low gas PBT for direct metallization, designed to reduce costs and boost productivity.

STRUCTURE Conductive and High Heat Resistant PA/PPE/CNT, Dimensional Stability PBT/ASA/GF, Low Temperature Impact PC/PBT

Replacement of steel by our composite materials PA/PPE and PBT/ASA leads to an effective weight reduction. Incorporation of carbon nanotubes (CNT) or glass fibers (GF) renders the corresponding parts electrically conductive and mechanically stiff, thus providing easy paintability and dimensional stability.

Plastics for automotive interior applications require a well-balanced set of thermal and mechanical properties. In addition, a high resistance to chemicals and a low content of TVOC are necessary. Our PC/ABS alloys represent an ideal solution to all these different challenges.

A uniform etching pattern not only provides for a high adhesion strength but also for an optimally smooth surface appearance without any pits. The right rubber and rubber particle size, as well as the technology to evenly distribute the rubber particles in the resin, are the keys to success.

Better Surface Quality

Samsung SDI has adopted CNT(Carbon Nano Tube) composite for producing conductive fillers. Conductive PA/PPE/CNT grades can be used for the electrostatic painting process without conductive primers. This advantage also allows for fewer production processes and lower manufacturing costs. The surface quality of CNT composite is better than carbon fiber & carbon black composite materials because low loading of CNT.

Lower moisture Absorption

CA-7000 shows a lower moisture absorptivity than comparable materials in the market.

Compared to steel, the use of plastic can achieve a 40% weight reduction. In addition, plastic is often easier to process, making more complex designs more feasible. PA/PPE/CNT composite is not only electrically conductive, but is also highly resistant against heat.

But the complicated design and special functions of these roof modules are accompanied by a significant weight increase.
