This is your once in a lifetime opportunity to live your childhood dream and be the next Miss. India! Glitterati is about to commence and cast its spell upon the streets of IIITM as young models sashay down the ramp with panache and allure the hearts of many. PARIVESH the most glamorous event of the festival is ready to captivate the audience with its mesmerizing charm. Fashion is an art and PARIVESH is the ultimate platform to express yourself. Boasting of a decade long legacy, the “gloss, glitz and glamour” is back with bigger and better stakes with PARIVESH. Parivesh gives you the golden opportunity to emerge as a trendsetter in front of the big guns of trade and a huge ecstatic audience. The curtains would slowly draw apart to spell-bound everyone by the angelic beauty stunning the stage. If you have got the beguiling looks and the perfect vogue, Parivesh is just the event for you! This is a competition tailor-made for all of you whoever aspires to be the next glamorous DIVA or HUNK. Come set the stage on fire with your charm and charisma at Aurora!!! Rules:

1. Each team can showcase a maximum of three rounds. 2. Every team will be given 8:00- 10:00 minutes for each round (stage-in to stage-out). 3. On exceeding the time limit, negative points will be awarded. 4. Each team can have a maximum of 15 members. 5. The teams can even take help from choreographers, make-up artists or any other

professionals. These, however, will not be considered as part of the team and will be under the sole responsibility of that team.

6. Every member of the team will be given a contest number based on which his/her judging will be done. So, if one loses it, he/she will not be given any points.

7. The teams are responsible for their music and sequence. 8. Music is to be submitted in a pen drive or a CD in a format compatible with Windows

Media player (preferably in mp3 format). All music files must be submitted to the organizers at least 3 days before the event.

9. The lighting facility is to be availed. One person of the group can supervise the lighting; else it will be up to the lights group.

10. Formation of crossover teams is allowed among the students of different colleges only if they have a valid college ID of their present year.

11. Fire and animals in any form will not be allowed on stage or the ramp. 12. Vulgarity in any form will not be allowed in the competition. So, if the team feels that any

stunt could be termed as vulgar, it would be best to speak of it to the organizer before performing it on the stage.

13. Organizers reserve the right to cancel any round and disqualify teams that do not adhere to the rules.

14. The decision of the judge will be considered the final one.

CORNA

   

Corna 

Description: “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything”. If you have music, team, and instruments, and you are just missing the chance to be the next big thing in the world of bands, well. Corna awaits you! There’s something in a war right? Corna is the ultimate battle of the bands where bands from all over India compete to showcase their musical prowess. So, train hard, upsurge the adrenaline and amaze the audience! Pre-finals:

1. Bands will be allowed a total of 11 mins on-stage (including 8 minutes for performance and 3 mins for setup, soundcheck, and clearance).

2. Participants are NOT required to play an original composition. Finals:

1. Bands will be allowed a total of 20 mins on-stage(including performance, setup and soundcheck).

2. Participants are required to play at least ONE original composition. Judging Criteria:

1. Music (This criteria is based on clarity, lyrical content and overall musical performance) 1-10

2. Stage Presence and Crowd Interaction (This criterion is based on how well the band "rocks out" and how well the band connects with the crowd) 1-

3. Appearance and Personality (This criterion is based on the overall look and personality) 1-5

4. Original Material (This criterion judges the most important part of your act, your original material! Band want to show originality in both their lyrical and instrumental performance to impress the judges) 1-10

5. Crowd Applause (The key ingredient to rock stardom: THE FANS!) 1-20

 

Guidelines:

1. Bands will have to bring their own Musical Instruments and Special Effects. However, Programmed Music is not allowed.

2. Marks will be deducted for exceeding the Time limit. 3. The decision of the judges will be Final and Binding. 4. Bands will be disqualified on the spot for Misconduct, Obscenity or Foul Language. 5. Basic drum kit will be provided to bands in prelims.

MR. AND MS. AURORA

   

 

Mr. and Ms. Aurora (MnM) 

Description:

Mr and Miss Aurora is an opportunity under Aurora to let the students explore their hidden

potential and giving them a chance to be the face of Aurora. MnM is a talent hunt to test their

confidence, aptitude, IQ and their wits.

Rules and Regulations:

1. All the tasks and henceforth their rules will be disclosed at the time of the event itself.

2. If a participant backs out at a later stage of the event, he/she will not be liable for any refunds.

3. If any candidate gets physical during any stage of the challenges, he/she will be disqualified immediately.

4. The challenges will be a tad bit challenging, both physically and psychologically. Participate according to your own potential.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The participant should be 16+ in age. 2. The participant should bring two passport size photographs and identity proof.

Workflow: Round 1 - Participants have to fill a Personal Interview Form. The form will contain several questions about your own self and some real-life situations. Round 2 - Participants will have to go through a Personal Interview round based on the previously filled forms. You will have to impress a panel of 5 judges by showcasing your talent. Round 3 - Based on the performance in the Personal Interview and the total number of registered candidates, a list of shortlisted candidates will be announced. Round 4 - Shortlisted candidates will have to perform individual tasks at their utmost caliber on spot.

Round 5 - Teams will be formed after performances in the individual round. Round 6 - The teams will compete against each other to make their place in the Semi-Final round. The tasks will test the IQ, wit, teamwork, presence of mind and strength of the participants. Round 7 - Semi-Final round. Round 8 - This is the final showdown, the last step towards the title of Mr. and Ms. Aurora. In this round there will be teams of two, a boy and a girl, performing tasks and challenges. Step-Up 

Description:

“Great dancers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion.” Opportunity dances with those already on the dance floor. So here comes the most awaiting dancing events – Step Up for you which will vibrate your feet and will throb your heartbeats. Be ready to rock n roll because Step Up is the heat of dance which will take you to the new level of passion to just dance and nothing else. So get ready to put the stage on fire and back the bugs. The genres are: ● Dancing Dyad – Duet Dance ● Synchro Funk – Group Dance ● Beat the Beat – Face-Off Dancing Dyad: Aurora brings you one of the best platforms to steal the spotlight and celebrate the true liberation of emotions. It’s an opportunity to showcase the magic in your footsteps through duet dance. Rules:- 1. Number of team members = 2. 2. Maximum time limit:

● Elimination round: 4 min ● Final round: 6 min

3. All the teams will first have to compete in the elimination round. Only the teams selected by the judge will qualify for the next round. 4. For the final round, the song will be provided to the participant corresponding to the dance skills and the next day they have to perform. 5. Synchro Funk: Dancing is a conversation that needs not be spoken but is implicitly understood. This event gives the opportunity for an enthusiastic expression of camaraderie and trust as groups dance to the rhythm tying them together as they vie for the top spot. Rules:- 1. Minimum number of team members = 3 Maximum number of team members = 15 2. Maximum time limit:

● Elimination round: 4 min ● Final round: 6 min

3. All the teams will first have to compete in the elimination round. Only the teams selected by the judge will qualify for the next round. 4. For the final round, the song will be provided to the participant corresponding to the dance skills. 5. It is not necessary for the participants to perform on different songs for the elimination round. 6. Costumes are not necessary for the round but marks will be given for costumes. Registration Fee: INR 749 Beat the Beat: Paint the stage with talent as you put your best foot forward with moves that leave the audience stunned. This event glorifies the relationship of a dancer to the rhythm as they battle it out for the best in the FaceOff. Rules:- 1. Single entries. 2. There will be Knockout rounds. 3. All the participants will first have to compete in the elimination round. Only the participants selected by the judge will qualify for the next round. 4. For elimination round, the song will be of your choice. 5. For Semi-Final and Final, the song will be provided. 6. No limitations on dance styles may vary between different genres (for example hip hop, house, funk, dubstep). 7. The elimination round will be of 3 minutes. 8. Eumelia 

Description: The Eumelia event will be a bundle of various sub-events where participants would present their vocal and instrumental skills and sing their hearts to please the ears of the audience. We intend to provide stage to singers and musicians to present their best show here in the domains of music, classical singing and modern singing etc. We intend to organize three sub-events, A-capella, Acoustic corner, and Raag. Each of these events will be focusing on various different genres and fields of Music. A-capella A simple competition with simple rules and one of the most liked and attended event of all musical competitions of Aurora- Acapella calls you on stage, and give you the freedom to perform. If you think that you can produce melodies without the help of any instruments, come and find out if you are really as good as you believe. It will focus on the various domains of FreeStyle Singing without instrumental accompaniment. Rules:-

1. Team size: 1-2 2. The participants may perform any composition(s) of his/her choice. 3. Participants must adhere to the prescribed time limit, else they will be penalized heavily. 4. Decisions of the judges are final and binding 5. Judging Criteria: Accuracy of Notes, Rhythm, Selection of Composition, Emotion and

overall impact. 6. Time Limit : Elimination(3-5mins),Finals(5-7mins) (Tentative) 7. Maximum number of songs:

● One Song for elimination round. ● Two songs for the final round.

Raag There's something in the soft plink of a sitar, or the mellifluous notes of a flute, that the human voice cannot seem to match. Instrumentalists spend years perfecting their art, to achieve the thrilling pace at which they change notes. Bach, Miles Davis, Zakir Hussain, Yo-Yo Ma, and L Subramaniam. These artists and many more have changed how most of us look and listen to music. This year, Aurora'20 gives you a chance for you to hear and create magic-harmonies. It will be a dedicated event to appreciate singing with Instruments. Rules:-

1. Team size: 1-4 2. It will be the responsibility of the participant and the accompanying instrumentalist to

arrange and maintain the instrument. 3. Use of synthesizer tracks: Use of synthesizer tracks is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Any

participant found violating this rule would be liable to immediate disqualification. 4. Time Limit: Elimination(5-8 mins), Finals(7-10 mins) (Tentative).

From the moment a participant’s name is announced, his/her time starts. They have to go to the stage, set the instruments, do a soundcheck (if required) and perform in this time limit. Exceeding time may result in penalties.

5. Maximum number of songs: ● One Song for elimination round. ● Two songs for the final round.

Acoustic Corner

Aurora brings you the stage for putting your swift arms and skillful fingers to display before an encouraging and enthusiastic audience. It is a purely instrumental music fiesta which will be aimed to enthuse the audience with raw music. Rules:-

1. Team size: 1-4 2. It will be the responsibility of the participant and the accompanying instrumentalist to

LE ARTE FIESTA

Le Arte Fiesta  

Description:

Le Arte Fiesta involves the amalgamation of various events that will showcase the creative and artistic talents of young minds. It covers various sub-events: Best out of Waste, Naqaab(Face Painting), Doodly-doo(Online), graffathon, On-spot painting and sketching, thus providing ample opportunities to have fun and grow parallelly. Best out of Waste Display your ‘Art of Recycling’ in this competition. The competition focuses on bringing an understanding of preserving the environment by reusing and recycling waste material. Rather than dumping your waste, why not use your artistic skills by making creative and innovative out-of-waste projects. Your work will be judged on innovation, creativity, and usefulness. Newspapers, cartons, broken glass, tapes, bottles, cups, etc. will be provided. Rules:

1. This is an on-spot event. 2. Team event (2 – 3 members) 3. Materials will be provided 4. Preparation time – 1 hour 5. Presentation time – 5 minutes 6. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, and design. 7. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Around the world, there are face painting festivals, conventions, and even competitions to celebrate this art form. The artist can do FACE PAINTING on his own face or face of any other person (model/friend/ relative). Face Painting on any subject or theme will be accepted.

Rules: 1. Team members(2 people — the one who will paint and the other whose face will be

painted OR 1 person — paint your own face) 2. This is an on-spot event. 3. Materials will be provided. 4. Separate mirror will be provided for solo artist only. 5. Time – 1 hour 6. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, and design 7. Decision of the judges will be final and binding

Registration Fee: Free Team Size: 1-2 Members

Grafton This competition is open to all graffiti artists, who are able to submit examples of their creative artwork. Just pick up your spray cans and brushes and display your creativity on our walls. Rules:

1. This is an on-spot event 2. This is a spray painting competition 3. Materials will be provided 4. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, and design 5. Decision of the judges will be final and binding

On-spot Painting (Live-Art) This is an on-spot painting contest for all the artists who want to bring their imagination on a canvas. So grab your brushes and colors and bring your creativity live on the canvas. Rules:

1. This is a solo event. 2. The painting will be conducted on the spot. 3. The subject of the painting will be given by the organizer on the spot. 4. Duration will not be more than 2 hours. 5. Painting can be done in water and pastel colors. 6. The paper/sheet and colors will be provided by the organizer 7. Participants can bring their own materials (colors, brushes,etc.) as per their

requirements. 8. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, and design 9. Decision of the judges will be final and binding

On-spot sketching This contest is open to all traditional artists that draw using lead pencils. The topic is BLACK & WHITE PENCIL DRAWING. Contestants can make drawing of any subject that they want with lead pencil(s). No color artwork will be accepted, only black/white/grayscale pencil artwork for this contest. Rules:

1. This is an on-spot event. 2. It is an individual competition. 3. Time-limited is restricted to 2 hours. 4. Drawing sheets and other materials will be provided by the coordinators. 5. Participants will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, and design 6. Decision of the judges will be final and binding

Doodly-doo (Online) Doodly-doo is a doodle art contest which gives a chance to use your imagination and share your doodling skills with the world. Rules:

1. This is an online event 2. They must not be offensive or contain any material that is unlawful or copied. Such

entries will not be considered for evaluation. 3. Scores will be evaluated in a manner such that:

70%: The number of likes and shares garnered on Facebook. 30%: Artistic merit - drawing skills and use of color.

4. Use of Facebook Auto Liker is prohibited. 5. Creativity and originality, as well as the unique and novel approach to the doodle. 6. Decisions of the judges are final and binding.

The Pikture  

Short Movie Making The movie-making contest for several previous editions has been one of the premier events of the Aurora where students with interest and prowess in the movie-making domains come forwards with their short movies. This event will also bring out the talents of the participants or the students in domains like film editing, cinematography, etc. Rules:

1. The participants will have to submit their videos in a CD/DVD/Pen drive at the control tent. Aurora is not responsible for any technical problems arising out of the non-compatibility of the videos.

2. The submissions would be taken on the last day of Aurora one hour before the start of the event. The participants must be present at the specified venue during the judging of their submission.

3. Judging criteria includes content, editing, screenplay and overall impact of the video. 4. Aurora reserves the right to use the video entries on social media (suitable credits will be

given to the people responsible for the creation of the content). 5. The Video must be shot in a resolution of 720p or greater. It can be shot on any device,

a DSLR or a phone or a Point-and-Shoot camera. 6. The duration of the film should be between 5 min-15 min.

Registration Fee: INR 249

Panorama The photography competition will be a one of a kind masterful event where the participants will be clicking snaps on various themes, including the three-day final show, and then finally those photographs will be judged on various trivial aspects of photography like exposure and light settings, etc. Rules:

1. This is an individual Online competition. 2. Any camera may be used. However, it would be advisable to use a DSLR. 3. Each participant will have to submit a maximum of 10 photographs clicked during the

fest. 4. Participants may ask for the theme at the Control Tent / Info Kiosk. 5. The EXIF data shall be checked and plagiarism will be dealt with severity. 6. Only basic photo editing is allowed i.e. cropping, adjusting the hue/saturation,

brightness, contrast levels. Photo morphing is strictly not allowed. 7. The participants will have to submit their photographs on our online FB page. 8. Aurora will not be responsible for any technical errors due to non-compatibility of photos. 9. The decision of the judge shall be final and binding. 10. Aurora reserves the right to use the images on social media (suitable credits will be

given to the photographer).

Portray It The story making competition is an event where the participants will be framing a humorous story based on the few snaps given and post it on Aurora’s FB page. The judgment will be based on the number of likes, comments, shares and the content of the story. Rules:

1. This is an individual online competition. 2. The story can be extended maximum up to 200 words. 3. The decision of the judge shall be final and binding. 4. Aurora reserves the right to use the images on social media (suitable credits will be

given to the photographer).

Description:

Open Mic The Open Mic is an open stage for all talent like poetry, storytelling, stand-up comedy, Mimicry, Beatboxing; rapping or any other unique talent you have. You get the chance to perform in front of a live audience.

Rules: 1. There will be only one round to perform. 2. Time limit: 5 minutes 3. Any type of musical instrument is not allowed during the event. 4. Your content should not contain vulgarity, profanity or any other negative material. 5. Selection of participants is solely based on their content. 6. Decision of the judges will be final.

Registration Fee: INR 200 Morning Radio This event gives participants a chance to own their show with a live audience right by their side. Being an RJ, showing off their voice and interaction skills, speaking a lot and they have a chance to win.

Rules:

1. There will be two rounds. 2. Round 1: Participant has to present his/her own content.

Round 2: Participants will be given an incident on spot. 3. Time limit: 120 seconds for each round. 4. Participants will be judged on the basis of fluency, spontaneity, presentation, sense of

humor, communication skills and interaction with the listeners. 5. Decision of the judges will be final.

Creative Writing (English and Hindi) Writing is an art through which you pen down your knowledge and perception about the given topic. Content writing contest allows participants to express their unique and beautiful thoughts. Aurora’20 welcome everyone to show their brilliance in writing and leave every reader in awe. The content includes essay, poem, rap or anything creative. Winner will be announced on our website and social media handles. Rules:

1. Max length of the content – 500 words. Plagiarism-free content only. 2. English (or Hindi) language writing only. 3. Format for submission: pdf. 4. File to be submitted on our mail. 5. Name of document: Creative_Writing_English_(name and surname of the applicant) Or

Creative_Writing_Hindi_(name and surname of the applicant) 6. You have to write your name, age, city, college/school (if any), phone number and email

Nukkad Natak (Street Play)

Description:

Nukkad Natak is a form of theatrical performance and presentation in outdoor public spaces. It's

an old tool through which a lot of social awareness campaigns have gained strength, such as

family planning, girls' education, child labor, etc.

Rules:

1. Team Size: 8-20 (Including all music accompanists) 2. Only a single and final round will lead to results. 3. Stage specifications: Open-air ground stage with audience on all sides. 4. Time Limit: 10-15 minutes (including setup and clearance time i.e. empty stage to empty

stage). 5. The essence of the play should be brought out in Hindi or English or both. However,

short snippets in other regional languages are allowed (max. 30 seconds). 6. No electrical appliances (for example, amplifiers) shall be allowed during the

performance, whether inside or outside the circle of performance. No plug points will be provided for this purpose.

7. Teams will be penalized if they exceed the time limit. 8. Plays can be based on any theme but inappropriate content, blasphemy or content

defaming any political party or religious group is STRICTLY prohibited. 9. Obscenity (at the discretion of judges) of any kind, is not allowed and may lead to

disqualification. 10. You are not allowed to play any recorded music using mobile phones or tapes. 11. The decision of the judges will be final and binding. 12. Teams are prohibited from mentioning their college names during the performance by

any medium. Any team doing so may be awarded a penalty. 13. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of event organizers will be final.

IPL Auctions

Description:

This event is a live simulation of the IPL Auctions and gauges Contestants’ analytical and

managerial skills in real-time. The event will consist of two rounds. The Preliminary round will

be a multiple-choice based quiz to select 8 teams for the Main Round which would feature a

live auction.

Rules:

1. Teams will consist of 3 members each. 2. Eight teams will qualify for the Main Round and will represent an IPL Franchise. 3. Each Team will be required to form a squad of 15-20 players. 4. The Squad must have at least 7 Batsmen, 5 Bowlers, 2 All-Rounders, and a

Wicket-Keeper. 5. A squad cannot have more than 7 foreign players. 6. Every Franchise will have an equal initial budget and will get a list of players with their

ratings in advance. 7. The Team that represents the Squad with the highest cumulative rating wins.

Registration fees: INR 200

Aptitude Quiz 1. There will be only one round conducted.

2. A team should have two members with cross-college teams allowed.

3. The quiz will be a written round and will consist of multiple-choice and subjective

questions.

4. The top-scoring teams shall be ranked and awarded accordingly.

5. The specifications will be explained on-site to the selected teams and audience.

6. In any case of false behavior or violation of rules, the team will be disqualified.

7. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the organizing team will be final.

8. Rules are subject to change as per the discretion of the organizing team.

BIT Quiz

online quizzing platform. 4. The top 10 teams shall be selected for the final round. 5. In any case of false behavior or violation of rules, the team will be disqualified. 6. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the organizing team will be final. 7. Rules are subject to change as per the discretion of the organizing team.

Final Round:

1. The questions will be subjective. 2. The format shall be in Jeopardy-style. 3. The specifications will be explained on-site to the selected teams and audience.

PUBG 

In-Game Rules:

1. Players are expected to use their own devices. 2. Only smartphones are allowed to be used to play the game. 3. PCs, consoles, laptops or any other non-handheld device are not allowed. Even using

the official emulator on PC is not allowed. 4. All games are played in Third Person Perspective (TPP). 5. There are no pauses permitted during the game for any reason other than some extreme

cases like a natural calamity. However, a game can be replayed if there are technical malfunctions.

6. There will custom rooms for which room_id and password will be sent to each team. And the maximum number of teams in each room can be 24.

7. The winning team will be decided as per the total points of each team. 8. Each team will get a 2-day early notice of the following:

1) The time of the customs room creation. 2) The name of the map on which the matchmaking will be done.

Rules For Disqualification:

1. If players are found to collude with other team members or members of other teams to provide any player with advantages or benefits in the game will lead to disqualification of the team.

2. Cheating of any type is prohibited, it includes the use of any kind of cheating device or program. And intentionally using any in-game bug is also prohibited.

3. Any type of vulgar speech, violence, and unauthorized communication will lead to disqualification.

CS: GO 

In-game rules:- Each team must present 1 representative. He/ she is responsible for his/her team and will be responsible for choosing maps and all communication with referees must be done through the team captain.

1. Maps will be decided through a veto system. 2. The team side will be determined through a knife round 3. Any technical issue, for example, a player drops or his/her mouse has an issue, the

match will be paused immediately. after the resolve, it shall be resumed where it was paused.

4. All visual enhancing software like Nvidia freestyle are banned. 5. The HUD can be changed as long as no information is deleted or falsified which is

available in the standard HUD. If you use a custom HUD, it has to be readable. 6. Graphics drivers – Any modification or changing of the game using external graphics

solutions or other 3rd party programs are strictly prohibited and may be punished under the cheating paragraph.

7. Moving through clipped areas where the movement is not intended by the design of the map is strictly forbidden (any walls, ceilings, floors etc).

8. The bomb may not be planted in a location where it cannot be defused. Planting the bomb in such a way that no one can hear the beeping sound or the planting sound is also forbidden.

9. Pixel walking is forbidden. A player will be considered to be pixel walking if they sit or stand on invisible pixels on the map, where there is no visible edge.

10. 2 total timeouts of 1 min each are allowed throughout the match

First time to win 16 rounds wins. in case of a tie, there will be over time with starting cash of 10000$ and reset. All programs which are not part of the original game, including custom-data and modifications, external fps benchmark software are not allowed... All external voice programs are allowed (e.g. Teamspeak, Ventrilo, etc.). Automated scripts are banned from the tournament, some of which include:

Selection:- All teams attending and participating in the event must fill the google form that will be provided. Outside teams/players are also allowed Insults and offensive behavior
