As mentioned by Joel, we have had recent
Professional Learning in Reimagining Practice.
One of the take aways for me was the idea of
"Love in Action."
1 John 3:18 says “Dear children, let us stop
just saying we love each other; let us really
show it by our actions.” (NLT).
As I contemplated this verse and the teachings around it, I
realised how often our students and our community do reach out in love. I was reminded
of how our Prefects raise money to sponsor a child, how they serve our community
through Shining crowns, Parent Picnic Days and representing our school. I was reminded
of comments from community members who have told me that our students are
respectful, considerate and caring when they are out on excursions and at events. I was
reminded of the many times a teacher has offered to give up their time to provide extra
support or just have a chat with a student in need.
I reflected on these moments and was proud to be a part of a school that genuinely loves
in action. My prayer is that as we reimagine learning and practice that we will continue to
look for ways to reach out to those in need and to be a light to the wider community. That
learning will be expressed through action as this deepens our understanding of subjects
and the knowledge taught whilst showing our students how much they have to offer the
world now.
Thank you for being a part of this community and helping us to build a culture of learning,
imagination, and practice where love is not just an emotion but an action.
Congratulations to all our students who produced some amazing art at the Darwin Show Art Competition!

‘Fair is foul and foul is fair...‘
Year 11 English Studies class has been studying one of William Shakespeare’s tragedies, Macbeth. They got into the world of power and ambition, betrayal and bloodshed by taking up different roles and walking in the shoes of the medieval characters. It
was amazing to witness their acting skills once they dressed up and performed this age old play, where the forces of good and evil are in constant battle for the soul of man. Well done class!
