Port-of-Spain, 17 August 2011 – WhenCaribbean Airlines publicised in Aprilthat it would be operating a service

to Orlando, the airline also took the oppor-tunity to announce that it would be work-ing together with several organisations togive four children a dream vacation toDisney World. Four months later the projectwas finally realised when the first two re-cipients of the project checked in at PiarcoInternational Airport to begin a fun filledtrip to Caribbean Airlines’ third Florida des-tination - Orlando. Working with UnitedWay, Caribbean Airlines was able to spon-sor four children coming from organisationsacross Trinidad including, Raffa House, HopeCentre, The Couva Children’s Home andBridge of Hope.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of CaribbeanAirlines Robert Corbie was on hand togetherwith members of the airline’s executive teamto usher the children and their chaperonesto their flight on Tuesday morning. “Carib-bean Airlines continues to be very appre-ciative to the localcommunity for theirsupport to the airlineas the national carrierof Trinidad and To-bago. We are awarethat it is our corporateduty to give back tosociety and to causesthat aid in the devel-opment of youth, cul-ture and the arts. Thisproject, headed byour Corporate Com-munications team,involved the expertisefrom many quarters.We have so manypeople to thank.”

The airline workedwith United Way ofTrinidad and Tobagoto identify suitableorganisations in thecountry who would qualify for the programme.“Once this step was completed, Caribbean Air-lines approached the immigration authorities inTrinidad and Tobago and the United States Em-bassy. We would like to take this opportunity toexpress our gratitude for the guidance and assis-tance given to us by these entities to make this areality” stated Laura Asbjornsen the airline’s Headof Corporate Communications. Mrs. PamelaFrancis, CEO of United Way, underscored the needfor corporate Trinidad and Tobago to followthrough on their philanthropic programmes say-ing that “Corporate T & T continues to make ex-cellent contributions to the social sector throughthe strong NGOs that United Way supports. CALhas made the dream of every child to visit Disneycome through for these very special children. Thisis indeed an excellent way to support and encour-age all our children and to let them know thatdreams do come through.”

To make the moment even more memorable,the Trinidad and Tobago Miss World delegateLeann Forbes on hand to greet the children be-fore they left for Orlando. Each child will be

accompanied by alegal guardian anda Caribbean Air-lines chaperone tospend four days inOrlando courtesyCaribbean Airlines.The group will stayat the Disney Carib-bean Beach ResortHotel and will beable to visit all themajor Disney themeparks includingMagic Kingdom,Epcot and Holly-wood Studios.

Caribbean Airlinesrecently announcedthat it will continueto operate the Or-lando route viaKingston past thesummer period.
