eSCRIP-SAFE® Transcript Transmittal
UTSA
Most safe, secure and FERPA compliant method to deliver a transcript
More flexibility where the transcript is sent
Labor costs and postage reduced
Students receive two notification emails: one when e-transcript has been sent and another when the e-transcript has been opened by the recipient
Authenticity validated by eSCRIP-SAFE.com
Very close to implementation; delayed by Banner 8 upgrade and repeat policy programming
Less paper assists in the university’s efforts to be “green”
Online Change of Grade
for Graduate Students
Change of grades more timely and secure
May limit grade changes possible because of academic standing differences among colleges

STREAMLINING VETERANS SERVICES
Fred HampleExecutive Director, Downtown Student Affairs Operations
Develop a Veterans Services web portal presenting an overview of the process and what is required of the prospective student in a step-by-step sequence on a single page. Information and links might include:
• ApplyTexas.org (UG) and The Graduate School• Degrees and academic programs offered at UTSA• Required tests for admission• Academic advising• online class schedules• ASAP registration• Cost of instruction, bills and fees• Financial Aid• Hazlewood Program• VA Certification instructions
Distribute the increased workload as a result of the increased veteran student population
Eliminate or reduce the need for overtime
Reduce certification processing time, resulting in faster payments both to our student veterans and to the university
Providing superior service to our student veteran population compliments the university’s goal to expand outreach, with a focus on veterans, their spouses, and dependents.
In addition to the two full-time Veterans Benefits Assistant II positions at the Main campus, on July 1 a full-time Veterans Benefits Assistant I was added at the Downtown campus. In September, a half-time Veterans Benefits Assistant I will be added at the Main campus. The goal of these added positions is to:
Increased Demand for Veterans Services

MEDICAL-MENTAL HEALTH WITHDRAWAL POLICY
MEDICAL-MENTAL HEALTH WITHDRAWAL POLICY
The purpose of the policy (7 yrs ago) was to help all students leave the university without excess fiscal or academic penalty when extreme events occur.
MEDICAL-MENTAL HEALTH WITHDRAWAL POLICY
The policy should only be used when the last day to withdraw has passed.
Specific Requirements: Typed letter from student requesting a M/MHW Signed authorization for the release of records Corroborating documentation from providers Copy of transcripts Other supporting documentation
MEDICAL-MENTAL HEALTH WITHDRAWAL POLICY
If there is another way for the student to withdraw from the university, following our current policies, the student should use that method.
It is an extremely exceptional event that would override our current withdrawal policies.

The conference is free to UTSA students and will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 on The University of Texas at San Antonio’s campus in the University Center.
The Leader Summit will include breakout sessions, a keynote speaker, and opportunities to network with fellow attendees.
Registration is now open and will close September 8, 2010 by noon. Forms can be found on the Student Activities website as well as on the table in front of you.
If you have any questions, please contact Student Activities at [email protected] or call 210-458-4160.
Announcements
Student Financial Aid and Enrollment Services• Financial Aid will disburse nearly $60 million in financial aid on
August 15, 2010 for students who have completed all necessary financial aid paperwork and registration procedures. Students with Direct Deposit should start to receive refunds by the end of next week while students waiting on paper checks will start to receive those refunds on August 23, 2010. Students with any financial holds greater than $200 will not receive a refund and will need to visit Fiscal Services.
• For students without financial aid, they must make payment arrangements by the payment deadline of August 18, 2010 or have their classes dropped. Options include: installment plan, tuition and fee loan, credit card payment by ASAP or phone, and e-check on ASAP.
• This is the really busy time for the call center and even with a full complement of call center staff members (we’ll probably have close 11-13 people staffing the phones), students will begin calling around to anyone they know (and choosing direct extensions from the UTSA directory) to get help. If you don’t know the answer, please direct the student back to 458-8000 where an Enrollment Services Officer can help him/her.
