Cliff J. Hare and Clifford L. Hare, grandson and greatgrandson, respectively, of Auburn legend Cliff L. Hare, the conamesake of JordanHare Stadium, are the new owners of AuburnArt, the leading provider of Auburn memorabilia and artwork. Owning an art store downtown is perfect for the Hare team. Clifford L. Hare graduated from Auburn in 2002 with a degree in industrial design and went on to earn a degree in photography from The Art Institute of Colorado in 2010. Cliff J. Hare graduated from Auburn in 1977 and grew up with what he calls “downtown icons” such as Bill Ham, Trey Johnston, Bob Dumas, Ron Anders, Ronnie Ware and the Lipscomb family, who owns much of the real estate referred to as Toomer’s Corner. Cliff L. Hare began the Hare family’s morethanacentury long relationship with Auburn in 1888 when he enrolled as a student at what was then the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. Hare was a member of Auburn’s first football team in 1892, the first president of the Southern Athletic Conference (which became the Southeastern Conference) and eventually became the dean of the School of Chemistry and Pharmacy. Cliff Hare Stadium was dedicated in his honor in 1949 and later changed to JordanHare Stadium in 1975. “It’s important to understand our heritage because it is a large piece of the foundation of Auburn,” said Clifford L. Hare. “Just as my greatgrandfather built a legacy in Auburn, I too hope to build AuburnArt into a legacy that all Auburn fans can enjoy as part of their Auburn experience.” AuburnArt, which was founded in 2001 as an online company with a retail store in 2007, offers the highest quality Auburn photographs, prints, paintings, blown glass, jewelry and pottery. Purchases can be made in store and online at AuburnArt.com. “I hope my creative eye and my experience in the art world will show in the art that is sold to our customers,” said Clifford L. Hare. “I hope to offer something that is unique and new. I believe Auburn fans to be truly unrivaled and special, so they deserve to have art that equals who they are, where they come from and what they believe in. That’s what we strive for at AuburnArt.” ###
