To articulate the school uniform for St Augustine’s Parish School.

2 Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all children at St Augustine’s Parish School, Salisbury.

Activewear School Uniform components are only available from the St Augustine’s Parish School’s Uniform Shop.

5 Activewear School Uniform Components

Items to be purchased only from the School Uniform Shop Other Suppliers

Navy shorts, navy skorts or navy trackpants Plain white sport socks covering ankles (no logos or stripes) Long or short sleeve polo with school emblem

Windcheater or jacket with school emblem ‘Supportive’ sport lace-up shoes or ‘supportive’ velcro sport shoes Navy blue hat with school emblem (legionnaire or bucket style)

NOTE: Year 7s may wear the commemorative windcheater and/or polo shirt (optional)*. *As from 2018 this applies to both Year 6s and 7s and from 2019 it applies to Year 6s. HOUSE COLOURS For House activities throughout the year, children have the option to wear a plain coloured t-shirt in their House colour (no logos), or the school long or short sleeve polo with school emblem. House captains may wear their approved house shirt throughout the year. House Teams are: Dominic (YELLOW), Joseph (GREEN), Thomas (RED), MacKillop (LIGHT BLUE)

6 Requirements

Hats - must be worn for all outdoor activities including play and excursions.

Hair Styles Hair colour must be as close as practicable to the child’s natural hair colour and must be kept in a clean, neat and

tidy manner All shoulder length hair must be tied up in a ponytail, bun or bunches; with the correct navy hair-ties Use of coloured gel or hairspray is not permitted Neat and tidy style cuts are acceptable with no shorter than Number 2 clippers – no defined lines, no patterns and no

rat’s tails

Hair Accessories Navy blue

7 Optional Accessories

Sunglasses Are encouraged but at the wearer’s risk; they must be sun-safe and the lenses made of plastic (not glass)

School Bags St Augustine’s school bags are available through the uniform shop and are encouraged, but are not compulsory

Other Options A thin gold or silver chain with a religious symbol may be worn under clothing, at the child’s own risk Watches and Medic Alert identification may be worn Earrings – only small studs may be worn (birthstone, gold or silver) – limited to ONE per ear Scarf and gloves - navy blue

8 Items Not Permitted

Fashion accessories (including bangles, bracelets, rings) Make-up of any kind (including nail polish) Any body piercing jewellery (including clear studs) other than approved earrings Acrylic nails Indoor soccer shoes, high cut volley or basketball shoes or canvas sneakers, open-toe shoes

It is school policy at St Augustine’s Parish School that children wear the approved school uniform at all times. In wearing the school uniform, children represent St Augustine’s Parish School in the wider community, and in doing so wear the uniform with pride. The school uniform promotes equality amongst students, celebrating our Gospel values of respect, dignity and social justice.

Our school uniform provides safety and practicality for children when participating in each of the key learning areas. Where indicated, approved school uniform items are to be purchased from our School Uniform Shop.
