MASTER OF ARTS IN INTERCULTURAL MINISTRIESA 57-Unit Two-Year Degree Program

Degree Program Description

The purpose of the Master of Arts inIntercultural Ministries is threefold.First of all, it is designed to preparepastors, evangelists, church planters,church workers, missionadministrators, traditional and tentmaking missionaries including OFWs

and missionary candidates to be moreeffective communicators of the gospelin both multi-cultural and cross-cultural contexts, particularly in Asianand 10/40 window countries andurban centers. The students willdevelop a spirituality that integratesBiblical/theological perspectives into aframework for doing missionsministry. They will becometheologically informed and growpersonally, professionally andspiritually. Using a series of sevenBible and Theology courses the M.A.core curriculum will ground thestudents in the Scriptures. Second,the program is designed (primarily

through the Plan A, thesis track) togive qualified missions studentsextended time to analyze a current orfuture mission strategy, or a particularmission problem, that will result inenhanced current or future missionsstrategy. Third, it is designed (throughPlan B, non-thesis track) to give

The Master of Arts in InterculturalMinistries gives students theopportunity to earn a degree while atthe same time getting them to the fieldof service within an expedient timeframe. This program builds upon theGraduate Diploma in Intercultural andUrban Studies. In addition to

classroom studies, Master of Arts inIntercultural Ministries students arerequired to complete one Pre-requisite Course of internshipprogram and participate in caregroups for two semesters.
