The powerful 2.0 litre petrol, 2.7 litre petrol and 2.5 litre diesel engines, 3.0 litre diesel and 4.0 litre V6 petrol engines are built to stand the test of time. And with great power comes great agility. The Hilux range has built a name of excellent manoeuvrability, handling and stability. The 4x4 models deliver high capacity part-time transfer, shaft and AI (Artificial Intelligence) – SHIFT control on the 4.0 litre automatic models enables comfortable driving by automatically switching the shifting pattern according to any road condition and your intent as a driver.
Even when the going gets tough, the Hiluxremains smooth and stable. The 4x2 models have a front suspension with a double-wish-bone with coil spring and the 4x4 models have a high-mount-type upper arm front suspension. The rear suspension has a combination of leaf springs and twin tube shock absorbers to handle the toughest of terrains and road conditions.

The Hilux is world-renowned for its safety with good reason. A specially engineered frame structure increases rigidity without compromising on strength or durability.The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)* regulates the hydraulic pressure of the brakes, and a load-sensing proportioning and bypass valve optimises the effectiveness of the rear brakes. The front seat belts have a 3-point ELR pretensioning system* and seat belts are supplied for all passengers in the back seat of the Double Cab. Front, side and curtain shield airbags* add extra peace of mind along with a wireless door lock*, an immobiliser with a built-in alarm, a tailgate that locks* and a spare wheel with an anti-theft lock.

Heavy-duty loadboxes carry the toughest outdoor gear so that you and your Single Cab are ready for anything. Single Cab SRX models have electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, colour-coded bumpers and a painted radiator grille that add brawn to their image. Top-of-the-range Legends, already loaded with luxury, have a high-mount brake light, indicator lamps set into the outer mirror, audio and Multi-Information Display (MID) with optitron instrumentation, meter illumination control, steering wheel switches and USB and iPod inputs.
