    ASSOCHAM Award for ATDC

    ATDC has received the ´Best Institute: Innovation´ award for exemplary contributions

    in introducing new innovative skill development training courses for youth.

    Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), India´s largest quality vocational training

    provider for the apparel industry was awarded ´Best Institute: Innovation´ by the

    Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on 20

    January in New Delhi in the backdrop of ASSOCHAM summit ´Skilling India´. ATDC

    has received this award for the exemplary contributions in introducing new innovative

    skill development training courses for youth and having different verticals to work

    with Ministry of Textiles, GOI for ISDS, for long-term courses with DGET, Ministry of

    Labour and Employment, GOI and B. Vocational courses with AICTE, GOI thus

    offering a bouquet of courses for career and skill development in a cohesive manner

    with a focus of ´Skilling for aspirational Indian youth´.

    The government has already launched ´Make in India´ campaign with an aim to turn

    the country into a global manufacturing hub. Skill development initiative needs

    considerable amount of expansion on capacity and innovative delivery approaches

    and public private partnerships. Recognizing the importance of skill development and

    entrepreneurship in the country, the new Government has laid highest priority on skill

    development and entrepreneurship. The summit was organized by ASSOCHAM in

    partnership with various ministries of Government of India to deliberate on current

    scenario on skill development and catalyse the initiative by recognizing the

    outstanding work of different agencies in skill development.

    Dr Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO, ATDC & IAM and Hari Kapoor, Vice Chairman, ATDC,

    received the award on behalf of ATDC. The award was conferred by Bandaru

    Dattatreya, Minister of State (IC) for Labour and Employment in presence of Alok

    Kumar (IAS), Director General/Joint Secretary, MoLE, Sri Dilip Chenoy, MD & CEO,

    NSDC, and many other dignitaries from various industries.

    ATDC was recognized for its innovative training initiatives like creation of brand

    ´SMART´ (Skills for manufacturing of apparel through research & training), launch of

    ATDC-JUKI tech innovation centre, product specialty centres, denovo approaches

    such as simulated production environment, state-of-the-art infrastructure, SMART

    trainee kits, training of trainers academies for continuous upgradation.

    Today, ATDC is a single largest vocational training provider for the apparel sector in

    the country with about 200 ATDCs that include 65 ATDC Vocational Institutes and

    over 135 ATDC-SMART centres and Skill Camps offering state-of the- art vocational

    programmes and probably the single largest training provider for any vocational

    trade in India and single largest beneficiary or nodal agency for implementation of a

    government´s skill development scheme. ATDC has also received the ASSOCHAM

    Award for ´Best Vocational Institute´ 2014 and is a proud recipient of UK-India Skill

    Forum Award as well.

    'SMART' (Skills for Manufacturing of Apparel through Research and Training). ATDC

    CEO Darlie Koshy and vice chairman Hari Kapoor received the award on behalf of

    the ATDC. "In India, we are providing training to 2.8 lakh people which is very less

    compared to Germany (30 lakh), Japan (one crore) and China (two crore), the

    minister said on the occasion.

    ATDC honoured by ASSOCHAM as 'Best Institute: Innovation'

    Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC), one of the largest vocational training

    provider for the apparel industry was awarded as the ‘Best Institute: Innovation’ by

    ASSOCHAM at ‘Summit-cum-Awards on Skilling India’ held on January 20 in New

    Delhi. ATDC has received this award for their exemplary contributions in introducing

    new innovative skill development training courses for youth and having different

    The Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) was awarded Best Institute:

    Innovation by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India

    (ASSOCHAM) at Summit-cum-Awards on Skilling India on January 20, 2015. The

    ATDC has received this award for their exemplary contributions in introducing new

    innovative skill development training courses for youth and having different verticals

    to work with Ministry of Textile.

    Speaking on the occasion Hari Kapoor, ATDC VC said: “I would like to thank
