DJMIT IEEE SB organized a one day event “CODE-O-MANIA’15” under IEEE, in

Association with Department of Computer Science & Engineering, DJMIT on 7th

February,

2015 at Dr. Jivraj Mehta Institute of Technology (DJMIT), Anand. This event was a "C, C++

and JAVA Programming" competition; the event had a participation of 55 students from all

semester students from all the departments of DJMIT and as well as other Students from

various Student Branches of Vidyanagar Zone. The main objective behind conducting this

event was to provide a platform to students for making themselves aware of their

programming skills in “C, C++ and JAVA language‟. And students did participated in the

event actively making worth of this opportunity provided to them.

The event comprised of 3 rounds.

Round 1 – C, C++ and JAVA programming based aptitude test. In which considerable

number of participants cleared the test.

Round 2 - Testing the conceptual and fundamental base of the participants in which

they had to debug the errors in the questions given to them.

Round 3 - Programming round in which the participants were given Seven problem

definitions and they had to solve all the seven problems.

The event Started with Inauguration ceremony carried on to IEEE Orientation for the Students

of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Electrical Department and Electronics and

Communication Department of DJMIT and which was then carried on to the main Event

CODE-O-MANIA’15.

Inauguration Ceremony:

The inaugural ceremony of CODE-O-MANIA, 15 was attended by Dr. Archana Nanoty,

Principal-DJMIT and Branch Mentor IEEE DJMIT SB, Prof. Arpit Mehta, Head Training and

Placement Officer-DJMIT, Prof Nitesh Barot, Branch Counsellor- IEEE DJMIT SB,

Prof. Yootika Patel, HOD, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, All the Head of

Department from all other branch, Faculties from all departments and Students of Computer

Science and Engineering department.

First of all to start any new thing in life or to inaugurate an event and for its success we pray

to the all mighty God and we did the same in the Inauguration Ceremony. All the Dignitaries

Dr. Archana Nanoty Madam, Principal-DJMIT addressed the participants highlighting the

importance of such events as well as IEEE and also said one point which attracted all and the

point was - “As we now about Dronacharya and Eklavya from Mahabharata, Dronacharya one

of the most Intelligent person and his student Eklavya who learned many things from his

Acharya. Madam compared IEEE with Dronacharya of the Modern Era and all the students

and Faculties with Eklavya to so the importance of IEEE in carrier”; also encouraged students

to be a part of world’s leading technical organization, IEEE and appreciated the efforts of

IEEE DJMIT Executive Committee and Student Members.

After the speech of Principal Madam Introduction to IEEE DJMIT Student branch and its new

executive committee of 2015 IEEE DJMIT Student branch was introduced, which was as

follows:

IEEE DJMIT Student Branch is the 21st student Branch of Gujarat Section, INDIA (R10

Region). The journey began in the April month of year 2013, officially recognized in July,

2014. The team comprised of 30 Student Members and 4 Professional Members and the

current Committee is as follows:

After which introduction to CODE-O-MANIA was given based on its round’s. And the

description was as follow:

1. Round 1: Aptitude test of C, C++ and JAVA Language.

2. Round 2: Error Debugging of Programs.

3. Round 3: Pattern Programming.

After which the Inauguration Ceremony was completed by thanking Principal Madam, all the

Head of Department, Faculty Members, Students and participants for their presence in the

ceremony.

IEEE Orientation:

For the awareness of IEEE in the life of an Engineer the IEEE orientation was carried out by

in three stages. The stages were as follows:

1. Group Discussion a. The topic which was chosen for Group discussion was “Internet” in which the

anchoring was done by IEEE DJMIT Student branch Chairperson Hemil Shah

and Vice Chairperson Milan Patel.

b. In the group discussion two teams were divided Team A and Team B.

c. Through this discussion all the students and faculties got new knowledge about

the Internet.

d. Through this activity we learned that if we share our knowledge in a group we

get to know more knowledge and we easily learn which we are sometimes not

able to learn through books.

2. Techno Talk a. Techno Talk is one of the activity which IEEE DJMIT Student Branch carries

of in every General Meeting in which one of the member has to give

presentation or seminar on the new technologies which are begin developed in

the world.

b. Techno Talk for the session was given by the Chairperson of IEEE DJMIT

Student Branch Hemil Shah.

c. As the major discussion topic of the Session was Internet the topic of techno

talk was “Project Loon”.

d. Project Loon is a research and development project being developed by

Google with the mission of providing Internet access to rural and remote

areas. The project uses high-altitude balloons placed in the stratosphere at an

altitude of about 32 km to create an aerial wireless network with up to 3G-

Like speeds.

3. IEEE Awareness and Benefits.

a. A presentation related to the benefits of IEEE and its advantages was there to

show the importance on IEEE in the engineering carrier.

b. It was executed by Hemil Shah (Chairperson IEEE DJMIT SB) and Milan

Patel (Vice Chairperson IEEE DJMIT SB).

After the IEEE Orientation got completed the main event CODE-O-MANIA’15 started at

12 o’clock and all the participant had reached to the event place on time.

CODE-O-MANIA’15:

Round 1: Aptitude Test (C/C++/JAVA)

Round 1 of the event started at 12.00 PM and as we know the main aim of IEEE is

leading Technologies in a way that nature doesn’t get affected marking this point the event

was designed in such a way that it used the list amount of material which causes harm to

nature. So for this we had computerized the entire question which also made easy for use and

participants to understand all the things.

Round 1 comprised of aptitude test related to C/C++/JAVA Programming language.

Rules of Round 1:

45 questions were asked for which 45 minutes.

65% participants will be qualified for the next Round.

No cancellation would be considered.

All questions are compulsory.

The second round of the event was designed to test the error solving skills of the

students. In this round seven questions were provided with errors which are to be solved using

programming languages.

Rules of Round 2:

All questions are compulsory.

45 minutes time limit.

35% participants were qualified to the next round.

Round 3: Pattern designing

It was the final round of the event in which 10 participants got qualified from 2nd

round. In this round the participants were given aims related to design patterns using

C/C++/JAVA programming languages.

Rules of Round 3:

5 pattern design aims were given to the participants.

45 minutes time limit was given.

Participants those who solve the pattern correctly in the shortest period of time was

considered the winner.

Closing Ceremony:

Closing ceremony of the event started at 4.00 PM which was anchored by Hemil Shah and

Milan Patel. Closing ceremony of CODE-O-MANIA’15 was attended by Honourable

Chairman of DJMIT Shri Narendra Shreemali Sir and Respected Dr. Archana S. Nanoty

Thanks Giving & Conclusion:

It was a Dream which came true CODE-O-MANIA’15 one of the bench mark event of IEEE

DJMIT Student Branch was executed with a grand success and for this we would like to first

of all thank our Honourable Shri. Narendra Shreemali Sir, Chairman-DJMIT for providing us

a platform to do such events, Secondly we would like to thank our Respected Dr. Archana S.

Nanoty Madam, Principal-DJMIT, for always supporting us and guiding us, Thirdly we
