With Mother’s Day coming up, it’s the perfect time to learn how to make some chocolate dipped strawberries. They’re so simple and delicious and make a wonderful gift for the moms in your life. Here’s how you do it: Step 1- Gather your supplies. You’ll need strawberries (however many you’d like to make), tempered dipping chocolate of your choice (one pound of chocolate will do approximately two dozen standard sized strawberries), parchment paper, a colander, a microwave safe bowl, a spoon and a microwave. Step 2- Take all the strawberries you plan to use and put them in the colander. Remember to check for mold, soft spots and gouges when picking your berries. Rinse them under cool water then lay them out on paper towels. Dry off each one individually to make sure there are no wet spots. Water is your chocolate’s worst enemy, make sure everything is dry. Step 3- Once all the berries are dry, you can move on to melting your chocolate. Place your chocolate in the microwave safe bowl and place it in the microwave. With the microwave on medium, turn it on for 15 seconds at a time, stirring with your spoon in between each interval. You will do this four to five times to slowly raise the temperature of the chocolate so it doesn’t burn. Step 4- Dip your strawberries in the melted chocolate then let the excess chocolate drip off back into the bowl. Once dipped, lay them out on a sheet of parchment paper and allow them to dry. For added decoration, you can add toppings to the chocolate before it completely dries. Step 5- Place your finished strawberries in a container of your choice and you have the perfect Mother’s Day gift!
