Asset Handover Process

• Current 5-Year Capital Plan is $2.86 billion

• Scale and scope of projects are changing, with larger and morecomplex “systems” being installed and integrated

• Current process has divisions between those who “design andbuild” and those who “operate and maintain”

• Processes are not standardized amongst departments, groups andfacilities

Asset Handover Process Challenges• The desire for a more robust commissioning and acceptance process

• Awareness of what is being installed “Like and Kind”

• The slow evolution to full turnover of digital asset data into a commonAsset Management Information System

• Ability to maintain and operate newly installed assets:• “Workforce Readiness” – potential new skills and training needed, for both

operating the system and maintaining the assets• Third party maintenance contract services need time to come online• Maintainability of assets that are comprised of “system of things”
