Aggregate feeder

Each of 4-bins of our cold aggregate feeder is fitted with a radial gate (easily operatable by a hand wheel) and an auxiliary belt feeder driven by a shaft mounted helical gear box and a DC motor. Gate opening ones set as per agg. Size, then flow of each size agg. is regulated from control panel by their motor speed control in auto mode according to desired set percentage of agg. gradation in mix design.

Side rubber skirt on auxiliary feeders prevents material spillage and closely spaced straight rollers really help to prolong belt life. A bin vibrator provided on dust bin wall ensures easy down flow of dust when wet due to moisture.

Gathering conveyor driven by an AC motor through helical gear collects all four size aggregates from their respective aux. feeders and transfers the same on to single deck vibrating screen which rejects over sizes.

A scrapper fitted at discharge end bottom of gathering conveyor keeps the belt neat and clean when wet dust sticks the belt.

Slinger conveyor mounted on idlers. The aggregates are received from the gathering conveyor and feed in to the dryer Drum unit it is equipped with continuos monitoring of weigh bridge ( load Cell ) For weight in tons / hour.

Rubber conveyor belt on cold bin aggregate feeder and slinger conveyor are 3-ply, M-24 grade and load out belt HR grade (180 degree C) of standard company make only like MRF/Dunlop.

Vibrating screen removes over size aggregates received from cold bin feeder thereby helps damaging slinger conveyer belt and drum internal flights also.

High speed slinger conveyor throws the cold wet aggregate in to drum. A load cell type belt weigher is mounted under slinger belt to measure agg. flow rate which is displayed digitally in Tons/hour on control panel.

A high pressure jet burner fitted at feeding end fires red hot flame in to the drum to heat and dry wet aggregates. Specially designed cascading and notched flights in heating zone allows maximum heat transfer from flame and hot gases to aggregates. J-shaped flights in mixing zone thoroughly mixes and perfectly coats bitumen on aggregates and filler.

Cylindrical dryer drum supported on 4-trunnion rollers by 2-steel tyres is driven by a chain and worm gear box and an AC motor. It receives weighed cold aggregates from slinger conveyor at one end and discharges hot asphalt mix from other end on to a load out conveyor.

Spray cone fitted on bitumen and filler pipeline inside the drum mixes powder filler with liquid bitumen first to make slurry then, further mixes with aggregates thus prevents blow out of fine filler in to exhaust.

2 nos. steel cast thrust wheels prevent drum from slowly moving down ward while running under load due to its inclined position.

Skewable trunnion rollers also can be adjusted for minimum thrust force on thrust wheels and run drum smooth with minimum wear.

2- dam plates inside drum allows longer heating and mixing time to aggregates thus, help to produce super quality of mix.

Sweep rotor discharges hot mix material on to load out conveyor where a thermocouple is mounted on discharge chute to measure mix material temperature.

A multicone cyclone box and exhaust fan with motor and chimney are mounted on the same chassis.

A 2-stage high pressure jet burner suitable for HSD/LDO/Heavy oil is mounted on dryer unit at feeding end.

Is has a separate skid mounted pumping & filtering unit with solenoid valves, easily accessible for maintenance.

The burner is fully capable of heating aggregates to 180* C and to drive out moistures from aggregates without leaving any carbon residue or unburnt fuel particles on hot aggregates.

Burner is operated automatically either in ‘Low’ or High’ stage (firing single or double nozzle) as per heat requirement responding to thermocouple fitted at dryer discharge end.

Liquid fuel is pumped to pressurize by a gear pump and atomizes through fine holed nozzle into almost gaseous form.

Two electrodes gives spark to ignite the flame with maximum radiation heat to aggregates in drum’s heating zone.

Intake air supply to burner blower is automatically regulated by a radial gate at blower inlet operated by a ram.

Inclined load out conveyor standing at discharge end of drum has a gob hopper to load out asphalt hot mix in to the tipper underneath without any segregation. Hopper has clamshell type radial gate hydraulically operated manually/auto with timer base from control panel.

Hydraulic Power Pack is for hydraulic opening and closing of the hopper gates.

The capacity of GOB hopper ranges from 1 to 1.5 T depending on the model of plant.

Powdered mineral filler (Fly ash, Portland cement, hydrated lime) is manually fed in to our 1-Ton hopper at the bottom of which a rotary valve type feeder is mounted to run through a gear box and DC motor. A twin lobe blower blows this filler in to the drum by a 3” pipe line.

The inlet of mineral is adjacent to the bitumen line in the Drying drum.

We supply 15/20/25 Ton capacity “O”/ “U” shaped tanks well insulated by 50 mm thick glass wool and with sheet cladding all around. A manhole, air vent, chimney, return line connection for bitumen and a platform are providing on the top of tank. A pressure jet burner suitable for HSD/LDO is fitted at heating pipe flange. 2” dia bitumen pump with jacketed body is driven by DC motor. All bitumen pipelines are jacketed for hot oil circulation. Dial gauge temperature meter and a thermocouple are fitted to read bitumen temperature. 3” drain at the bottom of tank and 2-lifting hooks on top of the tanks are also provided. 4-hooks on leg sides are provided to firmly tie the tank with truck during safe transportation.

Venturi type wet dust collector is a secondary dust collector directly connected to multicone cyclones. The coarse dust lifted from thermodrum unit is first separated in multiclone cyclone unit and then partially clean exhaust gases are passed through venture of this wet dust collectors, where water is sprayed by pump & two nos. fine nozzles in turbulent gas flow at the throat of venture. Due to this, fine water mist is created & all fine dust particles get completely wet which are then passed through a separator tank. Here dust slurry flows towards bottom of separator and is then drained out to settling ponds/tank. Clean water from the same pond pumped and recycled to spray.

High capacity water spray nozzles used here are made of stainless steel only and provides clog free operation with very very fine spray. Ensuring high efficiency of wet dust collector removing almost all the fine dust particles & carbon in the smoke giving best opacity atchimney top.
