Cold War:The cold war was continuing state from roughly 1946 to 1991 of political conflict , military tension and economic competition between communists world (soviet union & satellite states & allies) and the western world (US & it’s NATO allies)

Reasons behind the differences between Russia and America at the end of WWII :-

Stalin wanted a weak and divided Germany and Eastern Europe under soviet control

US and GrBr wanted strong , United Germany US and GrBr wanted independent states in Europe At the conference , Stalin promised free elections

and temporary division of Germany and he broke his promise

Communism is a social political and economic ideology that aims at the establishment of a classless, moneyless, stateless society based on common owner ship of the means of production

Democracy is a society in which all adult citizens have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives

How did President Truman respond to Soviet domination to Eastern Europe ?• The main point of the Truman

Doctrine was that President Truman promised to aid nations struggling against communism movements. This was considered as the start of the Cold War.

• The idea of Containment was to keep communism contained within it’s existing borders.

Iron Curtain: The Iron Curtain symbolized the ideological

fighting and physical boundary dividing Europe into two separate areas from the end of WWII in 1945 until the end of the Cold War in 1989.

Causes and Results of Stalin’s Blockage of Berlin:

Causes Results

Stalin stopped all highway, railway, and water way traffic

from Western Germany into West Berlin.

The Unites States and Britain supplied West Berlin through a

massive airlift.
