Health and education are considered as top priority by

ADF as these are the two pillars that affect the life of the

poor people. In the coming years, ADF plans to spread its

wings and focus on other social issues.

ADF has been negotiating with private/public

partnership to create awareness about the environmental

issues and also involve actively in programs to support

such noble cause.

With the support of Philanthropists, our trust plans to

organize many social events for the benefit of the weaker

sections to uplift their livelihood and standard of living in

future.

I take this opportunity to thank all the staff members of

ADF who have made these charity efforts a great success.

I thank the FDOs, BMs, AMs, DMs and everyone at

AMPL for assisting the staff of ADF and also for co-

ordinating with the borrowers and the general public.

contribute to their well being.

I started my career as ProgramOfficer with Asirvad

Development Foundation (ADF), Chennai on 1st November

2010.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Chairman and

Head, ADF for their motivation, Guidance and constant

support extended for the past nine months. Asirvad

Development Foundation (ADF) was a one man’s vision to

serve the economically weaker sections of the society. “More

people can do business but only selective can do charity” like

wise ADF is included in the list of selective who thinks about

poor and underprivileged people of society.

When I joined as Program Officer Pay Roll Giving

(Fundraising Initiative) was just at the initial stages so I

thought that working in a newly establishing sector would

provide me with good platform to shape my views and ideas

about charity in different dimensions. ADF had motivated and

recognized different innovative ideas, which I shared during

introduction of new programs and activities. When I joined

ADF, it was like an infant which needed the motherly care but

now I am seeing ADF as a baby curious to grow into a full-

fledged individual and with the support of noble hearted

people, the objectives will be achieved in the future years..

ADF’s four major mantras are Health, Education,

Environment and Women empowerment. In initial stages, we

gave first preference to health with the intension of bridging

the gap between poor people and accessibility of health care,

ADF had decided to bring about greater awareness in the

health care services. Special health care treatments like Eye

and Dental are more expensive for the people living below the

poverty line and we were determined to see that the benefits

reach the poor people at large living in and around Chennai

and Madurai.ADF plans to conduct health camps on a regular

basis at Tirunelveli in the near future.

The first free eye screening camp and inauguration of

ADF activities was held on 4th December 2010. The program

was well-plannedand with the collective involvement of

all the staff of ADF, we successfully conducted 23 Eye &

Dental camps in Chennai Division and 14 camps in Madurai

Division, Around 3500 people were benefited out of these

camps. At present, we are in the third second round of

conducting free health camps atChennai and Madurai

division of AMPL.

After health care, we decided to introduce program to

support education. As the saying goes, “We can see the world

more clearly only through the Education”. ADF’s

predominant vision is charity for education. The Program

called “Catch Them Young” to support the children of AMPL

beneficiaries was introduced. The Prizesare announced for

the beneficiary’s children those who score first mark and

second mark in their higher secondary examination among all

of our beneficiaries children in each district of AMPL

operations. The distribution of prizes is scheduled to be held

shortly.

“Schola rsh ip

(SSS)” is also one

of the important

programs of ADF to

encourage the poor

education. This is a

scholarship program for the children with good academic

performance who are struggling to pay the school fees. In this

scheme, the priority isgiven to the children with single parent

hood (Widow/ Deserted), migrated people due to natural

calamities or war victims, children with poor economic

background who are desirous for pursuing higher education.

In the garden of ADF, a new Rose plant has been planted

to make the garden more beautiful, as we are expanding our

charity work to Tirunelveli division of AMPL. Mr.Samudram

is incharge of ADF’s activities at Tirunelveli. The

inauguration of ADF’s activities at Tirunelveli is fixed on

29thJuly 2011.

While I see the new flying wing of ADF, It gives me

immense pleasure when I look behind and see the progress of

our foundation, I am proud of being a part of the sailing ship.

Here I convey my sincere thanks to Chairman and Head,

ADF, my colleagues for their supportthat enable me to put in

my best efforts in each of the activities of ADF.

“SCHOLARSHIP FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS” (SSS)

Recently, Asirvad Development Foundation has introduced ‘Scholarship for School Students” (SSS) scheme designed for schoolchildren who drop out of the school due to financial crisis to continue their education. The main target group of this program is children with single parenthood, children of deserted mothers, beneficiaries of Asirvad Microfinance Pvt. Ltd with poor economic background, refugees or people migrating due to any natural calamities, etc. This is also one of the best roots from the Banyan of Asirvad Development Foundation (ADF). Under the shadow of this ADF’s Banyan, several students will be provided water to quench their thirst of education. This programwill be initially introduced at Chennai, Madurai and Tirunelveli Divisions of AMPL.

The first student benefited out of this program was Baby Navadurga, a Second Standard student from Bhagyam Chelliah Matriculation School, Korukkupet, Chennai. She was benefited under the category of migrated child due

Navadugra started her education in Bagiyam Chelliah

he was working for daily wages and financially poor.

Mahendran was struggling for financial assistance. He

approached Chairman, ADF and after proper verification

from our end, the scholarship was sanctioned to Navadurga.

During few camps, we noticed that the Field Development

Officers (FDOs) did not have sufficient time to do health

check-up for themselves as they were engaged in coordinating

the camps. Therefore, this medical camp for the staff was the

platform provided to all the staff of AMPL, irrespective of their

rankings.

Our sincere thanks to Chennai based Uma Eye Hospital.

SRM Dental University and Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes specialists

Centre who jointly involved in this noble service. These three

hospitals are well known for organizing free camps and

providing treatment. The camp started at 10.00 am and

concluded by 1.00 pm.
