especially where you can
meet up at an agreed location
in case you are evacuating
from different areas.
The experts also ask that you
not forget about “your four-
legged friends”. Always keep
a three day supply of food
and water for each pet. Put a
current picture of your pet in a
waterproof container in case
you get separated.
Weather Radios are selling at
a good price now and every-
one should have one in their
home tuned to the station for
Morgan County. The County
Code for Morgan is 018109.
This is the time of the year we
all have to be ready for se-
vere weather. Knowing what
to do when bad weather hits
could save your life.
Have you and your family
made an Emergency Plan?
Experts say it’s important to
have a plan and a “go kit”
ready.
They suggest you have a
three day supply of non-
perishable food and a three
day supply of water which
translates to 1 gallon per day
per person. Have copies of
important documents like
identification and credit cards
and prescription medicines.
Have a first aid kit and a bat-
tery powered radio.
Discuss a plan with your fam-
ily so that everyone knows
what to do in the emergency;
“SURVIVING THE STORM” ARE YOU PREPARED?
LET’S MAKE MUTUAL RESPECT & CIVILTY OUR GOAL
I originally wrote this article in
2012, but it sure seems like
nothing has changed. In fact,
in some ways they’re worse.
“In this time of political prima-
ries, I find myself thinking
about all of you when I watch
the evening news.
I know that when I call an
Ashbury Angel and let them
know about a neighbor that
needs something done, or I
let someone know our Food
Bank needs replenished I will
receive that help with no
questions asked.
No one asks me what political
party the neighbor in need
belongs to.
No one asks me what religion
the neighbor is before they
donate goods to help them.
No Angel has ever said, “I’ll
help anyone but…”
Why? Because that’s who we
are...caring neighbors and
caring Americans.
Thank you all for the respect
and civility you show your
friends and neighbors.
Too bad our politicians (on
both sides) can’t be more like
the Americans they represent!

ments.
The clubhouse will not be
open that day.
Hopefully the weather will
be nice and the traffic
heavy as people come to
find those great Yard Sale
bargains.
Start cleaning out those
sheds, storage units and
closets to find items to sell
at our Community Yard
Sale.
It will be held Saturday,
August 6, 2016, from
8AM to 5PM.

ville and Mooresville pa-
It seems like I have to re-
mind folks every year
about the street layout
here in Ashbury Ridge.
When you turn left at the
storage lot and head down
the street it is ONE WAY.
Addresses from 87 to 104
cannot go out they way
they came in. You must
continue to the middle
street to go out.
Those of you who live at
126 to 152 also need to
enter by the mailboxes but
exit down the middle street
as your homes are on a
ONE WAY street.
I’ll be putting up more
signs this Summer but
please make sure you let
friends and visitors know
how to get in and out cor-
rectly.
No one in here should be
in such a hurry that they
can’t follow rules and drive
correctly.
Thanks for your help!

LAKE RULES
by an adult resident.
PLEASE, DON’T THROW
ANYTHING INTO OUR
LAKE. That means rocks
of any size, branches,
limbs, etc. Sorry, but re-
mote controlled boats are
not permitted either.
Golf carts are permitted at
the lake. No 4 wheelers,
or dirt bikes are allowed
without management per-
mission.
Please don’t try to fish from
the backyard of a home on
the lake. Those residents
are the only ones permitted
to use that area.
Fishing for people not liv-
ing by the lake can be ac-
cessed via the foot bridge
or the dam.
From what I hear the fish-
ing is good this year! En-
joy.
Please remember our lake
is not for wading or swim-
ming, it’s a fishing lake.
No one is allowed to walk
or wade into the water.
Anyone under the age of
13 must be accompanied

“To be humble, to be kind. It is the giving of the peace in your mind. To a stranger, To a friend To give in such a way that has no end. We are Love We are One We are how we treat each other when the day is done. We are Peace We are War We are how we treat each other and Nothing More.
To be bold, to be brave. It is the thinking that the heart can still be saved, And the darkness can come quick. The Danger’s in the An-ger and the hanging on to it. We are Love, We are One We are how we treat each other when the day is done. We are Peace We are War We are how we treat each other and Nothing More. Tell me what it is that you see A world that’s filled with endless possibilities? Heroes don’t look like they used to, they look like you do.
We are Love We are One We are how we treat each other when the day is done. We are Peace We are War We are how we treat each other and Nothing
We’re going to be having a
new feature in each news-
letter...we’ll be spotlighting
one of our residents. This
month we’re introducing all
of you to Ted Cook.
Ted was born in Indianapo-
lis in 1948 and went to
Public Schools in Indy until
8th grade. He then at-
tended and graduated from
Decatur Central.
He moved to West Newton
in 1962 and then to
Mooresville in 1968. He
married his wife, Susan, in
1980.
He joined the Mooresville
Police Department as a
Reserve Police Officer in
1975 and started full time
with Mooresville Police
Department Communica-
tions in 1979. He retired
from the same department
in January of 2013 but still
works part time and as a
volunteer with the Depart-
ment of Communications.
Ted has lived in Ashbury
Ridge since 1982. He
stated that due to his asso-
ciation with the Police De-
partment this is the only
place he would consider
living in.
Ted enjoys mowing grass
and fishing but not neces-
sarily in that order. He also
enjoys meeting and talking
with residents and I take
great pride in calling him
