Congratulations to Khun Narong Intanate (ASEP-3, Class of 2008)

Khun Narong is now Group Chief Executive Officer of ECS Holdings Limited effectively on July 1, 2010

(Press Release from ECS) Singapore-listed ECS Holdings appoints Founder and Board Member, Narong Intanate, as Group Chief Executive Officer

Singapore, 29 June 2010 - ECS Holdings Limited (“ECS” or the “Group”), a leading regional Info-Comm Technology (“ICT”) solutions provider representing best-of-class global brand names, announced today the appointment of a founding board member, Mr. Narong Intanate, as the Group’s chief executive officer (“Group CEO”) with effect from 1st July 2010.

Narong, who brings with him more than twenty years of operational management expertise the Asean ICT industry, was part of the core management team of the former Group CEO Mr. Tay Eng Hoe who retired in February 2010. Narong’s appointment is a critical pillar of the future business development plans as well as for key corporate strategies of the Group, this reported net profit of $38.2 million on revenue of $3.3 billion for the financial year ended 31 December 2009. Narong who serves as Executive Director of the Group’s Asean markets, was the founder and Executive Chairman of The Value Systems Co., Ltd., ECS’ Thailand Subsidiary in 1988.

Commenting on the above appointment, ECS’ Chairman Mr David Li, Said, “I am delighted to announce Narong as ECS’s Group CEC. As one of the pioneers of ECS and of the ICT industry in Asean, his wealth of strategic, business and industry acumen will help ECS further strengthen its foundation and exploit new opportunities in the rapidly changing regional LCT industry. His appointment is representative of the way we are positioning ECS for continued success and growth in future years.

“The next few years are expected to be an exciting era for ECS, making it an ideal time to further enhance the depth and strength of our leadership. We have exceptional operational management and financial expertise throughout the organisation and, in conjunction with our new Group CEO, I am confident that we will be able to continue advancing our position as a leading ICT player in Asia Pacific, “continued Mr Li.

About his new role at ECS, Narong commented, “I am extremely honoured to be offered this position at ECS and look forward to shaping it for a new phase of its corporate development. This is particularly exciting as the regional ICT industry is poised to grow this year with stronger demand for consumer IT products and renewed corporate IT spending. I look forward to addressing these growing demands that will benefit the long term potential of ECS to all its stakeholders.

Narong was appointed as an Executive director of ECS on 15 December 2000. On 18 March 2010, was appointed as Executive Director for ASEAN region and also appointed to the Board of the ECS subsidiaries. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University. Prior to Narong’s appointment, Mr Mervyn Mao served as acting Group CEO of ECS after Mr Tay’s retirement earlier this year.

Added Mr Li, “We thank Mervyn for his contribution as acting Group CEO during this transitionary phase and he will now be able to return his focus to leading our china operations, which continue to be our single largest market.”
