1. DEVICE DESCRIPTIONThe Ascension® PyroSphere® is single-use, spherical, interpositional prosthesis . It is fabricated from a thick pyrocarbon layer encasing a graphite core that is impregnated with one-atomic percent tungsten so it is radiopaque . The device is available in five sizes and is provided sterile .

2. INDICATIONS FOR USEThe Ascension PyroSphere is intended to replace the joint between the first metacarpal and the trapezium in cases of rheumatoid arthritis, traumatic arthritis, osteoarthritis or post fracture deformation or bone loss which present as either a painful, unstable thumb, or a thumb with limited range of motion .

The Ascension PyroSphere is also intended for use in the fourth/fifth tarsometatarsal (TMT) joint involvement where degenerative or post-traumatic arthritis presents:

• decreased motion

• arthritic changes and/or subluxation

• unstable, stiff, or painful joints

• degenerative joint disease of the midfoot

• associated with gout or pseudogout

3. CONTRAINDICATIONS• Inadequate bone stock or soft tissue coverage

• Previous open fracture or infection in the joint

• Skeletal immaturity

• Physical interference with or by other prostheses during implantation or use

• Procedures requiring modification of the prosthesis

• Skin, bone, circulatory and/or neurological deficiency at the implantation site

4. WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONSWARNINGS

• Strenuous loading, excessive mobility, and articular instability all may lead to eventual failure by loosening, fracture, or dislocation of the device . Patients should be made aware of the increased potential for device failure if excessive demands are made upon it .

• Do not modify the Ascension PyroSphere implant in any manner . Reshaping the implant using cutters, grinders, burrs, or other means will damage the structural integrity of the device .

• Do not grasp the Ascension PyroSphere implant with metal instruments, or instruments with teeth, serrations, or sharp edges . Implants should be handled only with instrumentation provided by Ascension Orthopedics . Ascension PyroSphere implants are made of pyrocarbon, which is a ceramic-like material . Mishandling implants could cause surface damage and reduce their strength, and could result in implant fracture and/or particulate debris .

PRECAUTIONS• Do not use the Ascension PyroSphere in a joint where

soft tissue reconstruction cannot provide adequate stabilization . Similar to the natural joint, the Ascension PyroSphere attains stabilization from the surrounding capsuloligamentous structures . If soft tissue reconstruction cannot provide adequate stabilization, the device may dislocate or loss of motion may occur .

• Do not resterilize this device . Resterilization could lead to mishandling and surface damage that could result in implant fracture and/or particulate debris .

• Do not reuse this device . Reuse of this product may result in infection or other systemic complication that may affect the patient’s overall health . Additionally, the reuse of this product could adversely affect function of the device . Any implant that has been damaged, mishandled, or removed from the sterile field may have surface damage that could result in implant fracture and/or particulate and should be discarded .

• Implants should be handled with blunt instruments to avoid scratching, cutting or nicking the device so as not to adversely affect the implant performance . Polished bearing and taper surfaces must not come in contact with hard or abrasive surfaces .

• The Ascension PyroSphere has not been evaluated for safety and compatibility in the MR environment . The Ascension PyroSphere has not been tested for heating or migration in the MR environment .

5. STERILITYThis implant has been sterilized by moist heat . If either the implant or the package appears damaged, or if sterility is questioned for any reason, the implant should not be used . Resterilization of this product is not recommended .

6. ADVERSE EVENTS• Potential adverse events reported with implants include

pain, implant fracture, dislocation, transient neuritis, tendonitis, or infection .

• Injury to the surrounding nerves, blood vessels, tendons, or soft tissues can occur as a consequence of implanting this device .

• Surgical intervention may be required to treat adverse effects . This may involve arthrodesis or amputation of the involved appendage .

• MDR Reporting Reminder: Medical device manufacturers and users are required by law and regulation to report serious injuries and death .

1. DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PRODUCTOEl dispositivo Ascension® PyroSphere® es una prótesis de interposición, esférica de un solo uso diseñada . Está fabrica-do a partir de una gruesa capa de pirocarbono que encierra un núcleo de grafito impregnado con wólfram en un porcen-taje atómico de forma que es radiopaco . El dispositivo está disponible en cinco tamaños y se distribuye estéril .

2. INDICACIONES DE USOEl dispositivo Ascension PyroSphere está diseñado para sus-tituir la articulación entre el primer metacarpiano y el hueso trapecio en casos de artritis reumatoidea, artritis traumática, osteoartritis o deformación postraumática o pérdida de masa ósea que presente un cuadro de dolor o limitación del rango de movilidad del pulgar .

El Ascension PyroSphere también está indicado para su uso en la articulación entre el cuarto y quinto tarsometatarsiano (TMT), cuando haya artritis degenerativa o postraumática que presente:

• movimiento disminuido • cambios por artritis y/o subluxación• articulaciones inestables, rígidas o dolorosas• enfermedad articular degenerativa del pie medio • asociada a gota o pseudogota

4. ADVERTENCIAS y PRECAUCIONES

7. SURGICAL PROCEDUREA Surgical Technique manual is available which outlines the basic procedure for device implantation and the use of specialized surgical instrumentation . It is the responsibility of the surgeon to be familiar with the procedure before use of these products . Each surgeon must evaluate the appropriateness of the surgical technique used based on personal medical training and experience .

8. • Los implantes deben manipularse con instrumental romo para evitar arañar, cortar o mellar el dispositivo, lo que afectaría negativamente al rendimiento del implante . El rodamiento pulido y las superficies cónicas no deben entrar en contacto con superficies duras o abrasivas .

• No se ha evaluado la seguridad y compatibilidad del dis-positivo Ascension PyroSphere . No se ha comprobado el calentamiento o desplazamiento del dispositivo Ascension PyroSphere en entornos de RM .

5. ESTERILIDADEste implante se ha esterilizado usando la técnica de calor húmedo . Si el implante o el embalaje parecen estar dañados, o si se cuestiona la esterilidad del mismo, el implante no debe utilizarse . No se recomienda la reesterilización de este producto .

6. EFECTOS NEGATIVOS• Entre los potenciales efectos negativos informados con

los implantes se encuentran: dolor, fractura del implante, dislocación, neuritis transitoria, tendinitis o infección .

• Como consecuencia del implante del dispositivo pueden producirse lesiones en nervios adyacentes, vasos sanguí-neos, tendones o tejido blando .

• Puede ser necesaria la intervención quirúrgica para tratar los efectos negativos . Esto puede implicar la artrodesis o amputación del apéndice afectado .

• Recordatorio de informe MDR: Se requiere que los fabri-cantes de dispositivos médicos y los usuarios, por ley y normativa informen de las lesiones graves o muertes .

7. INTERVENCIÓN QUIRÚRGICASe dispone de una técnica quirúrgica manual que explica la intervención básica para el implante del dispositivo y el uso de instrumentación quirúrgica especializada . Es responsabili-dad del cirujano familiarizarse con la intervención antes de utilizar estos productos . 8. 1. DESCRIPTION DU DISPOSITIFL'Ascension® PyroSphere® est une prothèse à usage unique, sphérique, avec interposition . Elle est constituée d'une couche mince de pyrocarbone enveloppant un cœur en graphite lequel est imprégné d'une petite quantité (1 pour-cent atomique) de tungstène, garantissant la radio-opacité . Ce dispositif est commercialisé en cinq tailles et fourni stérile .

2. INDICATIONS RELATIVES AU DOMAINE D'APPLICATIONL'Ascension PyroSphere est destinée à remplacer l'articula-tion située entre le premier métacarpien et le trapèze chez les patients atteints de polyarthrite rhumatoïde, d'arthrite, d'ar-thrite traumatique, d'arthrose ou d'une déformation post-fracture ou d'une perte de masse osseuse et dont le pouce est soit instable et douloureux soit présente une éten-due limitée de mouvement articulaire .

L'Ascension PyroSphere est également prévue pour être utilisée en présence d’une atteinte de la quatrième/cinquième articulation tarsométatarsienne (TMT), lorsque l’ostéoarthrite dégénérative ou l’arthrite post- traumatique s’accompagne des caractéristiques suivantes :

• diminution du mouvement

• évolutions arthritiques et/ou subluxation

• articulations instables, raides ou douloureuses

• arthropathie dégénérative du médio-pied

• association avec la goutte ou la pseudogoutte

3. CONTRE-INDICATIONS• Couche osseuse inadaptée ou recouvrement inadapté

des tissus mous

• Fracture précédemment ouverte ou infection de l'articu-lation

• Immaturité du squelette

• Interférence physique avec d'autres prothèses ou occa-sionnées par ces dernières au cours de l'implantation ou de l'utilisa-tion

• Procédures rendant nécessaires une modification de la prothèse

• Déficit cutané, insuffisance osseuse, insuffisance circula-toire et/ou déficit neurologique au site de l'implantation

4. AVERTISSEMENTS ET PRÉCAUTIONSAVERTISSEMENTS

• Une surcharge trop prononcée, une mobilité excessive et une instabilité articulaire peuvent toutes entraîner un échec éventuel de l'implant, échec provoqué par le descellement, la fracture ou la dislocation du dispositif . Les patients devront être informés du risque potentiel accru d'échec du dispositif s'il est subi à des contraintes excessives .

• Ne modifiez en aucune manière l'implant Ascension PyroSphere . Ne tentez pas de modifier la forme de l'im-plant en faisant appel à des instruments tranchants, des meules, des fraises, ou autres moyens, l'intégrité struc-turelle du dispositif pourrait en souffrir .

• Ne saisissez pas l'implant Ascension PyroSphere avec des instruments en métal ou des instruments présentant des dents, des dentelures ou des angles vifs . Ne manipulez ces implants qu'à l'aide de l'instrumentation fournie par Ascension Orthopedics . Les implants Ascension PyroSphere sont fabriqués en pyrocarbone, un matériel céramique . Un maniement incorrect des implants pourrait aboutir à une détérioration superficielle pouvant affaiblir leur résis-tance, ou bien entraîner des fractures d'implant et/ou la formation de débris et de particules .

PRÉCAUTIONS• N’utilisez pas l'Ascension PyroSphere dans une articula-

tion où la reconstruction des tissus mous ne garantit pas une stabilisation suffisante . Tout comme une articulation naturelle, l'Ascension PyroSphere permet une stabilisa-tion des structures capsulo- ligamentaires environnantes . Si la reconstruction des tissus mous ne garantit pas une stabilisation suffisante, le dispositif pourra se disloquer ou bien entraîner une perte de mouvement .

• Il ne faut pas restériliser ce dispositif . Les conséquences d'une restérilisation auraient en conséquence un manie-ment incorrect et une détérioration superficielle pouvant entraîner une fracture d'implant et/ou des débris et des particules .

• Ne pas réutiliser ce dispositif . La réutilisation de ce pro-duit peut entraîner une infection ou autre complication systémique, et en conséquence altérer l’état de santé général du patient . Par ailleurs, la réutilisation de ce produit est susceptible de détériorer le fonctionne-ment du dispositif . Tout implant endom-magé, incorrectement manipulé ou retiré du champ stérile est susceptible de présenter des dommages sur sa surface, lesquels pourraient entraîner une rupture de l’implant et/ou la formation de particules ; il doit être jeté .

• Ne manipulez ces implants qu'à l'aide d'instruments aux coins émoussés afin d'éviter de rayer, de couper ou d'en-cocher le dispositif ce qui affecterait la performance de l'implant . Les surfaces d'appui polies et les surfaces effilées ne doivent pas entrer en contact avec les surfac-es dures ou abrasives .

• L'Ascension PyroSphere n’a pas fait l’objet d’une évalua-tion portant sur sa sécurité et sa compatibilité dans un environnement RM . L'Ascension PyroSphere n’a pas été soumis à des tests de chauffage ou de migration dans un environnement RM .

5. STÉRILITÉCet implant a été stérilisé à la vapeur d'eau . Si l'implant ou son conditionne ment semblent endommagés, ou bien si la stérilité est remise en question pour une raison ou une autre, il ne faudra pas utiliser l'implant . Il n'est pas recommandé de restériliser ce produit .

6. EFFETS INDÉSIRABLES• Les événements indésirables rapportés pouvant se

présenter avec des implants, comprenaient des douleurs, des fractures de l'implant, des dislocations, des névrites passagères, des tendinites ou des infections .

• Un endommagement des nerfs, des vaisseaux sanguins, tendons ou des tissus mous environnants pourra résulter de l'implantation de ce dispositif .

• Une intervention chirurgicale pourra s'avérer nécessaire afin de traiter les effets indésirables . Ce qui pourra com-prendre une arthrodèse ou l'amputation de l'appendice impliqué .

• Rappel de la déclaration obligatoire MDR (Manufacturer Defect Report) : les fabricants et les utilisateurs de dis-positifs médicaux sont tenus par la loi et les règlements applicables de déclarer les blessures graves et les décès .

7. PROCÉDURE CHIRURGICALENous tenons à votre disposition un manuel de technique chirurgicale, vous y trouverez une description de la procédure de base servant à implanter le dispositif ainsi que des conseils pour l'utilisation de l'instrumentation chirurgi-cale spécialisée . Il est de la responsabilité du chirurgien de se familiariser avec cette procédure avant d'utiliser ces produits . Il incombera à chaque chirurgien d'évaluer l'à-propos de la technique de pose utilisée et se basant sur la formation et l'expérience personnelle médicale .

8. FORMATIONUn moniteur qualifié se chargera de la formation des chirur-giens avant qu'ils procèdent à l'implantation de Ascension PyroSphere afin de garantir qu'ils aient bien compris toutes les techniques d'implantation et de retrait ainsi que la mise en oeuvre de l'instrumentation . 1. BESCHREIBUNG DES IMPLANTATSDas Ascension® PyroSphere® ist ein sphärisches, interpositio-nales Implantat . Das Implantat besteht aus einer starken Pyrocarbonschicht, die einen Graphitkern umschließt . Dieser ist mit einem Atomprozent Wolfram imprägniert und ist dadurch röntgenpositiv . Das Implantat ist in fünf Größen ver-fügbar und wir in sterilem Zustand geliefert .

2. ANWENDUNGSINDIKATIONENDas Ascension PyroSphere Implantat ist vorgesehen für den Ersatz des Gelenks zwischen dem ersten Mittelhandknochen und dem Großen Vieleckbeins bei rheumatischer Arthritis, O s t e o a r t h r i t i s o d e r K n o c h e n v e r f o r m u n g b z w . Knochenschwund infolge von Brüchen, die zu einem schmerzhaften, instabilen Daumen oder einem einges-chränkten Bewegungsspielraum des Daumens führen .

Das Ascension PyroSphere ist weiterhin bestimmt zur Verwendung bei Beteiligung des vierten/fünften Fußwurzel-Mittelfußgelenks bei degenerativer und post-traumatisch bedingter Arthritis mit folgender Symptomatik:

• Bewegungseinschränkungen

• arthritische Veränderungen und/oder Subluxation

• instabile, steife und schmerzhafte Gelenke

• degenerative Gelenkkrankheit des Mittelfußes

• bei Gicht oder Pseudogicht .

3. GEGENANZEIGEN

• Unzureichende Knochenlagerung oder Weichteildeckung

• Vorangegangene offene Brüche oder Infektionen im Gelenk

• Nicht ausgereiftes Skelett

• Physische Behinderung anderer Prothesen oder durch andere Prothesen bei der Einpflanzung oder beim Gebrauch

• Verfahren, die eine Anpassung des Implantats erfordern

• Haut-, Knochen- und Durchblutungsstörungen und/oder neurologische Unzulänglichkeiten an der Implantationsstelle

4. WARNUNGEN UND VORSICHTSMASSNAHMENWARNUNGEN

• Starke Belastung, exzessive Bewegung und Gelenkinstabilität können letztendlich zum Versagen in Form von Lockerung, Brüchen oder Dislozierung des Implantats führen . Patienten sollten auf das erhöhte Risiko des Versagens des Implantats bei übermäßiger Belastung hingewiesen werden .

• Modifizieren Sie das Ascension PyroSphere Implantat in keiner Weise . Jede Verformung des Implantats durch Messer, Schleifgeräte, Fräser oder andere Mittel beein-trächtigt die strukturelle Integrität der Prothese .

• Halten Sie das Ascension PyroSphere Implantat keines-falls mit Metallinstrumenten oder Instrumenten, die Zähne, Kerben oder scharfe Kanten besitzen . Implantate dürfen nur mit Instrumenten gehandhabt werden, die von Ascension Orthopedics geliefert wurden . Ascension PyroSphere Implantate bestehen aus Pyrocarbon, einem keramikähnlichen Werkstoff . Falsche Behandlung des Implantats kann zu Oberflächenbeschädigungen führen und die Festigkeit beeinträchtigen . Dadurch kann es zum Bruch des Implantats und/oder zum Auftreten von Fremdkörpern kommen .

VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN• Verwenden Sie das Ascension PyroSphere Implantat

nicht an Gelenken, bei denen durch die Weichteilrekonstruktion keine angemessene Stabilisierung möglich ist . Ähnlich wie ein natürliches Gelenk bezieht das Ascension PyroSphere Implantat seine Stabilität aus den umgebenden Kapselbandstrukturen . Wenn die Weichteilrekonstruktion keine angemessene Stabilisierung ermöglicht, kann sich das Implantat verla-gern oder die Beweglichkeit kann verloren gehen .

• Implantate dürfen nur mit stumpfen Instrumenten gehandhabt werden, um Kratzer, Schnitte oder Einkerbungen zu vermeiden und die Leistungsfähigkeit des Implantats nicht negativ zu beeinflussen . Polierte Lagerflächen und konische Oberflächen dürfen auf kein-en Fall mit harten oder groben Oberflächen in Berührung kommen .

• Die Sicherheit und Verträglichkeit das Ascension PyroSphere in einer MR-Umgebung wurde nicht geprüft . Das Ascension PyroSphere wurde nicht auf Erhitzung oder Migration in einer MR-Umgebung getestet .

5. STERILITÄT

Dieses Implantat wurde durch feuchte Hitze sterilisiert . Wenn das Implantat oder die Verpackung Anzeichen von Beschädigung aufweisen, oder wenn die Sterilität aus irgen-deinem Grund fragwürdig erscheint, darf das Implantat nicht verwendet werden . Erneute Sterilisation des Produktes wird nicht empfohlen .

6. GESUNDHEITSBEEINTRÄCHTIGUNGEN• Potenzielle Gesundheitsbeeinträchtigungen im

Zusammenhang mit Implantaten beinhalten Schmerzen, Bruch oder Verlagerung des Implantats, vorübergehende Nervenentzündung, Sehnenentzündung oder Infektion .

• Verletzungen benachbarter Nerven, Blutgefäße, Sehnen oder Weichteile können infolge der Einpflanzung des Implantats auftreten .

1. DESCRIZIONE DEL DISPOSITIVOLa Ascension® PyroSphere® è una protesi monouso, sferica, interposizionale . Il dis-positivo è disponibile in cinque dimensioni ed è fornito sterile .

2. INDICAZIONILa Ascension PyroSphere è destinata a sostituire l’articolazi-one tra il primo metacarpo e il trapezio in casi di artrite reu-matoide, artrite traumatica, osteartrite o deformazioni post frattura o perdita ossea che presentino un pollice dolente, instabile oppure un pollice con limitata possibilità di movi-mento .

4. AVVERTENZE E PRECAUZIONIAVVERTENZE

• Carichi pesanti, eccessiva mobilità e instabilità articolare possono portare a insuccesso per l'allentamento, la frat-tura o la dislocazione del dispositivo . I pazienti devono essere a conoscenza dell’accresciuto potenziale di insuc-cesso del dispositivo se lo stesso è sottoposto ad ecces-sive sollecitazioni .

• Non modificare in alcun modo la protesi Ascension PyroSphere . Il rimodellamento della protesi con l’utilizzo di taglierine, molatrici, frese o altro danneggerebbe l’in-tegrità strutturale del dispositivo .

• Non prendere la protesi Ascension PyroSphere con stru-menti metallici o provvisti di denti, seghettati o con bordi taglienti . Le protesi devono essere maneggiate solo con strumenti forniti dalla Ascension Orthopedics . Le protesi PyroSphere sono prodotte in pirocarbonio, un materiale simile alla ceramica . L’errato trattamento delle protesi potrebbe causare danni alla superficie e ridurne la resistenza con la conseguente frattura della protesi stessa e/o la produzione di detriti particellari .

PRECAUZIONI• Non utilizzare la Ascension PyroSphere in un’articolazi-

one in cui la ricostruzione dei tessuti molli non può garantire una adeguata stabilizzazione . Similmente all’articolazione naturale, la Ascension PyroSphere ottiene la stabilizzazione dalle circostanti strutture capsulolegamentose . Se la ricostruzione dei tessuti molli non può garantire una adeguata stabilizzazione, il dis-positivo può dislocarsi o può presentarsi una perdita di movimento .

• Non risterilizzare il dispositivo . La risterilizzazione può portare ad un errato trattamento e a danni alla superficie che potrebbero avere come conseguenza la frattura della protesi e/o la produzione di detriti particellari .

• Non riutilizzare il dispositivo . Il riutilizzo di questo pro-dotto può causare infezioni o altre complicanze sistemi-che in grado di compromettere lo stato di salute generale del paziente . Il riutilizzo di questo prodotto potrebbe inoltre influenzare negativamente la funzionalità del dis-positivo . Gli impianti danneggiati, manipolati senza la dovuta cautela o rimossi dal campo sterile possono riportare danni superficiali con rischio di fratture e/o scheggiature e pertanto devono essere scartati .

• Le protesi non devono essere trattate con strumenti taglienti per evitare graffi, tagli o intaccature e per non influenzarne negativamente le performance . Cuscinetti levigati e superfici rastremate non devono entrare in contatto con superfici dure o abrasive .

• La Ascension PyroSphere non è stato valutato in termini di sicurezza e compatibilità in ambiente di risonanza magnetica (RM) . La Ascension PyroSphere non è stato testato in termini di riscaldamento o migrazione in ambi-ente di risonanza magnetica (RM) .

5. STERILITÀLa protesi è stata sterilizzata a calore umido . Se la protesi o la confezione appaiono danneggiare o se, per qualsiasi motivo, ci sono dubbi sulla sua sterilità, la protesi non deve essere usata . Si sconsiglia la risterilizzazione del prodotto .

4. WAARSCHUWINGEN EN VOORZORGSMAATREGELENWAARSCHUWINGEN

• Overmatige belasting, extreme mobiliteit en articulaire instabiliteit kunnen leiden tot een mogelijke mislukking door losraken, breken of dislocatie van het implantaat . De patiënt moet zich ervan bewust zijn dat er een ver-grote kans bestaat op falen van het implantaat als er buitensporige eisen aan worden gesteld .

• Breng op geen enkele wijze wijzigingen aan in het Ascension PyroSphere implantaat . Het aanpassen van de vorm van het implantaat met behulp van snijders, slijp-machines, slijpboren of op andere wijze tast de struc-turele integriteit van het implantaat aan .

• Pak het Ascension PyroSphere implantaat niet vast met metalen instrumenten of instrumenten met tanden, kar-tels of scherpe randen . Behandel de implantaten alleen met instrumentarium van Ascension Orthopedics . Ascension PyroSphere implantaten zijn vervaardigd uit pyrocarbon; dit is een keramiek-achtig materiaal . Een onjuist gebruik van de implantaten kan leiden tot schade aan het oppervlak en een aantasting van de sterkte . Net als het nat-uurlijke gewricht haalt de Ascension PyroSphere de sta-biliteit uit de omringende capsuloligamenteuze struc-turen . Als onvoldoende stabilisatie kan worden verkregen uit de wekedelen-reconstructie, kan een dislo-catie van het implantaat of bewegingsverlies optreden .

• Deze implantaat niet opnieuw steriliseren . Opnieuw steriliseren kan leiden tot een onjuist gebruik en bes-chadiging van het oppervlak dat weer kan leiden tot breuk van het implantaat en/of debris bestaande uit par-tikeltjes .

• Gebruik dit hulpmiddel niet opnieuw . Hergebruik van dit product kan infectie of een andere systemische compli-catie tot gevolg hebben die de algemene gezondheid van de patiënt kan aantasten . Bovendien zou hergebruik van dit product een negatieve invloed kunnen hebben op het functioneren van het hulpmiddel . Een implantaat dat beschadigd is, verkeerd gehanteerd is of uit het steri-ele veld is verwijderd, kan oppervlaktebeschadiging heb-ben opgelopen die zou kunnen resulteren in breuk van het implantaat en/of débris, en dient niet meer gebruikt te worden .

• Het implantaat moet worden behandeld met stompe instrumenten ter voorkoming van krassen, sneden of kerven in het implantaat waardoor de functionaliteit van het implantaat aangetast zou kunnen worden . De gepoli-jste lagervlakken en conusoppervlakken mogen niet in aanraking komen met harde of schurende oppervlakken .

• De Ascension PyroSphere is niet beoordeeld op veil-igheid en compatibiliteit in de MRI-omgeving . De Ascension PyroSphere is niet getest op verhitting of migratie in de MRI-omgeving .

5. STERILITEIT

Het implantaat is gesteriliseerd met behulp van vochtige warmte . Het implantaat mag niet worden gebruikt als het implantaat of de verpakking beschadigd lijkt te zijn of als de steriliteit aangetast lijkt te zijn . Opnieuw steriliseren van dit product wordt niet aanbevolen .

6. BIJWERKINGEN• Mogelijke bijwerkingen die zijn gemeld voor implantaten

zijn onder andere pijn, breuk van het implantaat, dislo-catie, neuritis radialis van voorbijgaande aard, tendinitis of infectie .

• Beschadiging aan de omringende zenuwen, bloedvaten, pezen of weke delen kan voorkomen als gevolg van de implantatie .

• Chirurgisch ingrijpen voor de behandeling van bijw-erkingen kan noodzakelijk zijn . Het kan dan gaan om artrodese of amputatie van het betrokken lichaamsdeel .

• Herinnering MDR melding: Fabrikanten van medische apparatuur en de gebruikers ervan zijn volgens de wet en de regelgeving verplicht ernstig letsel en overlijden te melden .

7. CHIRURGISCHE PROCEDUREEr is een handleiding Chirurgische Techniek beschikbaar waarin de basis procedure voor implantatie staat beschreven, evenals het gebruik van gespecialiseerd chirurgisch instru-mentarium . Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de chirurg bekend te zijn met de procedure alvorens het product toe te passen . Elke chirurg moet de geschiktheid van de procedure beoordelen op grond van de eigen medische opleiding en ervaring .

8. TRAININGVoorafgaand aan het implanteren van de Ascension PyroSphere moet de chirurg voldoende getraind zijn door een bevoegde instructeur, zodat men voldoende op de hoogte is van het implantaat en de technieken voor implan-tatie en verwijdering . 6. EVENTOS ADVERSOS• Potenciais eventos adversos reportados em relação aos
