In the autumn of 2017 a cultural centre comprised of three key elements
will open its doors in the red city of Marrakech: the Jardin Majorelle,
the Musée Berbère, and the new Musée Yves Saint Laurent.
The museum, devoted to the work and universe of the great couturier,
was designed by Studio KO. In addition to a large exhibition hall
showcasing the œuvre of Yves Saint Laurent, the museum includes
a space for temporary exhibitions that will regularly feature work by
young artists, an auditorium – for concerts, film projections, conferences,
colloquiums and live opera broadcasts – and a 5,000 volume library.
A non-profit Moroccan association, Les Amis de la Fondation Jardin
Majorelle, has been established with the hope that those among us
who love Morocco and who are passionate about fashion, Berber
culture, botany, music, theatre, cinema and literature, will contribute to
the development and prestige of this cultural centre, while supporting
the programming of these three institutions and the charitable work of
the Fondation Jardin Majorelle.
We are deeply honoured that Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Salma
has accepted to be the Honorary President of Les Amis de la Fondation
Jardin Majorelle.
