    1. Procedure for Admission

    Candidates seeking admission to different Post-Graduate Coursesin Arts, may apply for registration on the prescribed application formsobtainable from the following Offices/Departments within the stipulated

    The form duly filled in and accompanied by self attested photo copiesof the following documents shall have to be submitted by the candidate atthe time of the registration at the above noted centres:

    (i) Marks-sheets of the qualifying Degree Examination in respect of all thepapers.

    (ii) Degree Certificate of the qualifying Examination or Provisional Certificate.

    (iii) Certificate of Class Xth for verification of date of birth.

    (iv) 3 Copies of the Caste Certificate, if belongs to reserved categories.

    (v). Disability Certificate, in case of physically challenged candidates. (induplicate) issued by the competent Hospital/Board.

    (vi). The Candidates shall also have to produce the aforesaiddocuments in Original at thetime of registration and the sameshall be returned to the candidates after verification. TheIncomplete Registration forms and the forms without originaldocuments shall not be accepted.

    (vii) The candidates registered will be issued registration slips which shallhave to be produced at the time of collection of Provisional AdmissionSlips, if selected for admission. The candidates are, therefore, advisedto retain Registration Slips carefully.

    (viii). The Schedule of Registration for Admission and Entrance Tests, forthe courses are shown on page (i). For detailed information with regardto admission programme/notification of admission lists, etc., candidatesare advised to contact the concerned Departments/Academic Sectionof the Faculty of Arts.

    (ix).The candidates seeking admission to M.A. Sanskrit under directCategory may get themselves registered directly in both the Campusesand Non-Collegiate Womens Education Board. The admission lists onthe basis of merit under direct category would be finalized and displayedby both the Campuses & NCWEB independently.

    (x)The candidates seeking admission to MA in Hindi and Sanskrit throughEntrance Test for both the campuses and Non-Collegiate WomensEducation Board may get themselves registered in the Main Campus.The merit list of both the Campuses would be displayed on the respectivecampus.

    Admission to the following MA courses in French/ German/ Hispanic/Italian, English, Buddhist Studies, Psychology, Philosophy, Punjabi, Tamil,Bengali, Comparative Indian Literature, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Library &Information Science and Linguistics will be dealt by the concerned

    departments directly.

    All admissions will be made in order of merit, in accordance with therequirements, as detailed in Appendix-1. The number of seats in each subjectCollege/Departments is shown in Appendix-II.

    Copies of the admission lists will be sent to the Principals of theColleges/Heads of the Departments concerned. Candidates whose namesappear in the admission list will be issued Provisional Admission Slips onthe dates to be notified at the time of Registration, provided the candidate

    has submitted the result of Final year examination. The candidate, aftercollecting the Provisional Admission Slip, will apply for admission to thecollege allotted by the concerned department of the respective Campus forthe subject concerned. The candidates are also advised to apply to theColleges for admission on the prescribed forms available in the Collegeconcerned within the prescribed dates notified by the colleges without waitingfor the registration/notification of admission lists. This is being suggestedbecause it may be possible that Colleges may stop entertaining applicationsfor admission after a prescribed date. For detailed information in this regard,candidates may contact colleges directly.

    Candidates who have been issued Provisional Admission Slips will berequired to complete the admission formalities in the College includingpayment of fees within three days from the date of issue of the Provisional

    Admission Slip. Issue of Admission slip does not confirm the provisionaladmission granted. The Admission Slip will be retained by College and thecounterfoil is to be returned to the Arts Faculty immediately after depositingthe fee in the College.

    The names of those who fail to complete admission formalities or failto submit the Provisional Admission slips in the Colleges within the stipulatedperiod shall be removed from the list without any further reference to themand the resultant vacant seats will be offiered to other candidates in order ofmerit.

    Disputes, if any, arising out of or relating to any matter whatsoever,concerning the process of admission shall be subject to the exclusivejurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi only.

    In case of any discrepancy/irregularity in the admission offered isnoticed before or after depositing the fee, the admission would be cancelledby the Faculty office/College without any reference to the candidate andthe candidate would have no claim what so ever in this regard .

    Note: The self-attested copies of documents/papers/ photographs areaccepted from the students alongwith the Registration forms foradmission to the Post-Graduate Courses. Please note that if anyfalse attestation/falsified records are detected, The admission of thestudent will be cancelled besides initiation legal action against sucha student

    2. Eigibility Conditions

    Candidates desirous of seeking admission to M.A. Courses must fulfilthe requisite conditions of having passed the examinations with the prescribedpercentage of marks as detailed in Appendix-I

    If the course is not equivalent to Delhi University such candidates wouldbe required to fill up the prescribed equivalence form along with all documents

    and a copy of authenticated syllabus of the University from which he/shehas passed the examination.

    (i) Rounding off a fraction of marks for purposes of admission to any Courseis not admissible.

    (ii) Candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility requirements, shall not beregistered and no request for relaxation in the minimum eligibilityrequirement shall be entertained.

    (iii) Candidates who have passed their B.A./B.A. (Hons) / B.Com./ B.Com.(Hons) or equivalent examination under 10+2+3 Scheme of examinationof Delhi University or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto,if eligible would be registered to the M.A. Arts Courses for the AcademicSession 2011-2012.

    However, the candidates having passed their first degree examinationprior to 1985 will be treated at par with the present three years degreecourse. (A.C. Resolution No. 137 dated 23.3.1993).

    Further, where the applicants have done their graduation under 14 yearsscheme but have MA First year/LL.B./B.Ed./B.E. (Degree) etc.Examination after graduation, they will be deemed to have put in 15years of study but their eligibility be determined on the basis of marksobtained at the qualifying Examination (A.C. Reso. No. 034 (6) dt.21.5.1992).

    (iv) If any irregularity is detected after declaration of merit list/issue ofProvisional Admission Slip, before or after depositing the Fee, admissionof such candidate will be cancelled without any reference to him/her.

    3. Age

    There would be no minimum age bar for post-graudate courses underthe Faculty of Arts.

    4. Provisional Registration

    Candidates who have appeared in the Final Examination of theirqualifying degree examination but their results have not been declaredor have not received detailed marks-sheet/certificates will be registered

    (not admitted) provisionally keeping in view their performance at thelast examination passed. Such candidates shall be required to submita certificate from the University/College last attended by them to theeffect that they have appeared in their final examination and wouldsubmit result immediately after declaration of result but not later than31st August, 2011. However, such candidates will be offered admissionon submission of result for the final examination. All admissions have

    to be finalized by 31st August 2011 subject to availability of seats.

    5. Compartmental Candidates

    (i) Candidates who have been placed under compartment in one of thesubjects by the University of Delhi only will be allowed to registerthemselves for provisional admission to MA Arts Courses, if they satisfythe prescribed requirements of the course concerned as given inAppendix-I (by adding the minimum pass marks of the paper in whichthe student has been placed in compartment to the marks obtained inthe remaining papers).

    (ii) A candidate of Delhi University who has been placed in compartmentin any one of the subsidiary subjects and is otherwise eligible foradmission to M.A. course, shall be permitted to register himself/herselffor provisional admission. Admission of the above candidates would beconfirmed on his/her passing the Compartmental/subsidiaryexamination.

    Students who fail in the compartmental/subsidiary examination shallnot be allowed to continue on rolls and their provisional admission shall becancelled without any communication to them.

    Note: Candidates from other Universities who have been placed undercompartment shall not be eligible for the registration under clause.5 (i) and (ii) mentioned above.

    6. Evening ClassesThe following MA courses are also taught in the Evening Classes in

    the Main Campus.

    Candidate seeking admission to Evening Classes are required toproduce a certificate of employment and work experience of atleast oneyear from anyone of the following.

    1. Government Office2. Public Undertakings3. Statutoty/Autonomeus Bodies of the Central/ State Government.4. Private Limited Companies

    7. Enrolment in the Non-Collegiate Womens EducationBoard (NCWEB)

    All the candidates seeking admission to M.A. in English, Hindi,Sanskrit, Philosophy, Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic and Persian Courses in Non-Collegiate Womens Education Board must get themselves registered withthe PG Teaching Centre of Non-Collegiate Womens Education Board inNCWEB, University of Delhi, Delhi.110007 on 10th, 17th and 24th July 2011between 10.00 am to 3.00 P.M. Since all the candidates in Non-Collegiateare taken on the basis of entrance test by the respective Departments inthe Faculty of Arts they also have to register themselves with the Faculty.

    Giving the option of Non-Collegiate in the registration form with the Facultyis not sufficient for admission in Non-Collegiate Womans Education Board.For further details, please contact directly the Director, Non-CollegiateWomans Education Board, Tutorial Building, Second Floor, University ofDelhi, Delhi-110007.

    8. Enrolment in the School of Open Learning (SOL)

    The candidates seeking admission to M.A. in Hindi and Sanskritcourses are advised to contact the Executive Director. School of OpenLearning, 5, Cavalry Lines, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 for further details.

    N.B.: Minimum eligibility requirement of marks for enrolment inNon-Collegiate/ School of Open Learning/Evening Classes are the same as

    prescribed for admission to regular courses.

    9. Admission for Foreign Students

    Foreign students seeking admission to various courses are required toapply to the Foreign Students Advisor, Foreign Students Registry, Facultyof Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi -110007, who will processtheir applications for admissions in the Colleges/Departments directly.

    10. Admission of Candidates from Nepal/Bhutan

    The candidates sponsored by the Governments of Nepal and Bhutanfor admission to M.A Course will be given 5% relaxation in the minimummarks requirements but there will not be any reservation of seats of suchcandidates in any course.

    11. Reservation for Candidates Physically Challenged

    (i). Three percent (3%) seats in all undergraduate and postgraduateinstitutions (including professional and technical institutions) will bereserved for candidates with physically disabilities.

    (ii) Reservation will also be applicable to institutions where admission isthrough Entrance Examinations.

    (iii) Reservation will be implemented college-wise and as far as possiblecourse-wise in under-graduate courses, keeping in mind the suitabilityof the various courses for physically handicapped students depending,inter-alia, on the nature and severity of their disability. The reservationwill be implemented Department wise in post-graduate course, as well

    as in those under-graduate courses where teaching is available only inone Department/college.

    (iv) Candidate seeking admission under reservation as detailed in eligibilityconditdions except relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibilityconditions. In case of a course where admission is by entranceexamination 5% concession shall be granted in the minimum eligibilitycondition for admission the test.

    (v) Candidates with physical disabilities who are able to secure admissionin the general category will be counted in the 3% quota.

    (vi) The 3% reservation may be allocated as follows 1% for persons withlow vision or blindness; 1% for hearing imparied; 1% for those with

    loco motor disabilities and/or cerebral palsy. However, if sufficientcandidates are not available in a sub-category then candidates fromthe other sub-categories should be considered in their stead.

    (vii) Candidates with more than one type of reservation : This reservationshall cut across the existing resrevations of SC/ST; children/widows/wives of officers and men of armed forces including paramilitary forceskilled/disabled in action or those who died/were disabled on duty, etc.in accordance with the principle of interlocking reservations. Wheneverthere is a common merit between two candidates, i.e. one belongingto one reserved category and other belonging to the reserved as wellas Physically Handicapped category, preference should be given to

    the Physically Handicapped candidates over the able bodied candidates.The Physically Handicapped candidates will simultaneously continueto avail benefit against the 3% quota reserved for them; provided thecandidates apply under both the categories separately.

    (viii) If sufficient numbers of the candidates are not available under thereserved category candidates.

    (ix) College/Departments are free to exceed the 3% reservation quota ifnecessary. (Note-Ordinary, the number of seats reserved would be 01for 33; 2 for 67 and 3 for 100 and so on. However, the colleges mayround off the number of reserved seats to next higher level, if the numberof calculated seats falls more than half way between two levels, e.g.for 54 seats the number of reserved seats would be 1.62, which maybe rounded off to 2 through it may appear to be 4% quota. In essence,the nature of reservation should be enabling in sprit and the institutionnot feel prevented from exceeding the 3% quota.

    (x) The Dean Students' Welfare (DSW) will arrange for professionalconselling of physically challenged students to enable them to decideabout courses, keeping in view their aptitude, disability, and future career

    prospects.

    (xi) The disability certificate should be in the format as per Government ofIndia guidelines :

    (a) The certificate should not be more than 5 years old.(b) It should be signed by a board of 3 doctors with legible stamp

    indicating the name & designation of the doctors.(c) The certificate should be countersigned by CMO/Medical Supdt./

    with stamp under the signatures. Certificate should have photographof candidate.

    (d) Diagnosis should be written clearly in the certificate.

    12. Admissions of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled TribeCandidates:

    15% and 7.5% seats in all post-graduate courses are reserved forcandidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe,respectively. Candidate belonging to the Scheduled Caste/ScheduledTribe seeking admission to the Post-Graduate Courses will also berequired to get themselves registered along with other candidates, theRegistration form duly filled in and accompanied by attestedphotocopies of the following documents shall be submitted at theRegistration Centre within the prescribed registration dates:

    (i) Marks-Sheets of the qualifying Degree Examination in respect of allthe papers.

    (ii) Degree certificate of the qualifying Examination or Provisional Certificate.

    (iii) Certificate of class Xth for verification of Date of Birth.

    (iv) Caste Certificate issued by any of the following Authorities.

    (i) District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional DeputyCommissioner/Deputy Collector/1st Class StipendiaryMagistrate/ City Magistrate/Sub DivisionalMagistrate/Assistant Commissioner,

    (ii) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief PresidencyMagistrate/Presidency Magistrate.

    (iii) Revenue Officer not blow the rank of Tehsildar.

    (iv) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/orhis/her family normally resides.

    (v) Administration/Secretary of Administrator/DevelopmentOfficer (Laccadive and Minicoy Island)

    The candidates will have to produce the original documents atthe time of registration, and the same shall be returned to themafter verification.

    No seat will be reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe in apost graduate course where the number of seats is less than 7. Wherethe number of seats are 7 or more but less than 15, 15% of seats will bereserved for Scheduled Caste candidates. If no Scheduled Castecandidate is available, the seat would go to a Scheduled Tribecandidate. Where the number of seat are 15 or more, reservation at

    15% and 7.5% for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidatesrespectively (inter-changeable) will be made.

    The minimum eligibility requirement of marks for the Scheduled Cast/Scheduled Tribe candidates who have passed their qualifying fromUniversity of Delhi, for admission to Post-Graduate courses is theminimum pass marks of the qualifying examination. The ScheduledCaste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who have passed their qualifyingdegree examination from a University other than Delhi University, shouldhave secured at least the same percentage of pass marks at thequalifying examination as prescribed for the equivalent examination ofDelhi University.

    Where the admission is based on screening/written test forPost-Graduate Courses, the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribecandidates would also be required to appear in the same but theirmerit list will be drawn separately and operated as per the reservationquota.

    If the requisite number of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidateis not available by the last date fixed by the University for admission toa particular course the remaining seats will be de-reserved and filledfrom general category.

    13. Admission of Other Backward Classes (OBC)

    (i) 27% seats in all Post -Graduate Courses are reserved for theOBCs.Candidates belonging to the OBCs seeking admission to thePost-Graduate Courses will also be required to get themselvesrefistered along with other candidates, the registration from duly filledin & accompanied by attested photocopies of the following documentsshall be submitted at the Registration Centre within the prescribedregistration dated:

    (ii) As per communication received by the University from the UGC. Theeligibility of the candidates appliying under the OBC Category will bedetermined on the basis of the central list of the OBCs notified by theMinistry of Social Justics & Empowerment on the recommendationsof the National Commission for Backward classes available on thewebsite of the Commission (http:ncbc.nc.in/ backward classes/index.html).

    For Category (1) - i.e.100% direct Admission:-

    Separate cut-off will be notified for OBC Candidates but the variationshould not be more than 10% from the last cut off for General categorystudents.

    For Category (2) - i.e. 100% admission through Entrance Test:-

    Minimum eligibility conditions for appearing in the test will remain thesame as that of the General Category students. However, separatemerit list will be notified for OBC candidates with less than 10% variation.

    For Category (3) - i.e. 50% through Direct Admission and 50%through Entrance Test :-

    The conditions as mentioned in category (1) and (2) above will applyaccordingly.

    The number of seats will be determined in the following manner :

    (a) Increase the total number of seats by 54%.(b) 15% seats of the enhanced seats reserved for SC and 7.5% seats

    for the ST category.(c) Seats for General Category will remain constant.(d) Number of seats under (b) & (c) taken together will be deducted

    from the total number of seats as per (a) the remaining seats will befilled up from the OBC category.

    However, in case the seats meant for OBC remain vacant, the samemay be filled by other eligible candidates.

    The Faculties/Departments are required.

    1) to bring out a separate cut-off for OBC candidates.

    2) to ensure that the difference between the cut-off for general candidatesand OBC candidates should not be more than 10% .

    3) to check the OBC (Non-creamy layer) certificates while grantingadmission.

    4) Seats meant of PH/CW and Foreign Students will be treated assupernumerary.

    14. Reservation of Seats for the Children/Widows/Wivesof the officers and Men of the Armed Forces includingPara Military personnel killed or disabled in action.

    5% of the the total number of seats in each course are reserved for theChildren/Widows/Wives of the officers and Men of the Armed Forces includingPara Military personnel (i) killed in action, (ii) Disabled in action, (iii) diedwhile on duty, (iv) disabled on duty and (v) wards of Ex-servicement personneland serving personnel of the Defence/Armed Forces and all Police Forces

    All candidates seeking admission to hostel in the University are requiredto appear in the entrance test even if they are eligible for admission underdirect category. The merit list to the Hostels will be drawn solely on thebasis of performance in the entrance test.

    19. Maintenance of discipline among students of the

    University (Ordinance XV-B)

    (i) All powers relating to discipline and disciplinary action are vestedwith the Vice-Chancellor.

    (ii) The Vice-Chancellor may delegate all or such powers as he/shedeems proper to the Proctor and to such other persons as he/she

    may specify in this behalf.

    (iii) Without prejudice to the generality of power to enforce disciplineunder the Ordinance the following shall amount to acts of grossindiscipline:

    (a) Physical assault, or threat to use physical force, against anymember of the teaching and non-teaching staff of any Institution/Department and non-teaching staff of any Institution/Departmentand against any student within the University of Delhi.

    (b) carrying or use of, or threat to use of any weapons:

    (c) any violation of the provisions of the Civil Rights Protection Act

    1976:

    (d) violation of the status, dignity and honour of students belonging tothe scheduled castes and tribes:

    (e) any practice-wheather verbal or otherwise derogatory to women.

    (f) any attempt for bribing or corruption in any manner.

    (g) willful destruction of Institutional property;

    (h) creating ill-will or intolerance, on religious or communal grounds;

    (i) causing disruption in any manner of the academic functioning ofthe University system;

    (ii) ragging as per Ordinance XV-C.

    (iv) Without prejudice to the generality of his/her powers relating to themaintaining disciplines and taking such action in the interest ofmaintaining discipline as may seem to him appropriate, theVice-Chancellor, may in the exercise of his/her power in accordancewith aforesaid order direct that:

    (a) any student or students be expelled, or

    (b) any student or students be, for a stated period rusticated;

    or

    (c) be not for a started period, admitted to a Course or courses ofstudy in a college, department or institution of the university or (d)be fined with a sum of rupees that may be specified; or (e) debarredfrom taking a University or college or departmental Examination orExaminations for one or more years; or

    (f) that the result of the student or students concerned in theExamination or Examinations in which he/she or they have appeared

    be cancelled.

    (v) The Principal of the College, Head of the Halls, Warden/Master or Headof the Department, Deans of the Faculties exercise all such disciplinarypower over students in their respective colleges, Institutions, Facultiesand Teaching Departments in the University as may be necessary forthe proper conduct of the Institutions. Halls and teaching in theconcerned Departments. They may exercise their authority or delegateauthority to such of the teachers in their colleges, Institutions orDepartments as they may specify for these purpose.

    (vi) Without prejudice to the powers of the Vice-Chancellor and the Proctoras aforesaid, detailed rules of discipline and proper conduct shall be

    farmed. These rules may be supplemented, where necessary, by thePrincipals of Colleges, Heads of the Halls, Deans of Faculties andHeads of Teaching Departments in this University. Each student shallbe expected to provide himself/herself with a copy of these rules.

    (vii) At the time of admission, every student shall be required to sign adeclaration that on admission he/she submits himself/herself tothedisciplinary jurisdiction of the Vice-Chancellor and the several authoritiesof the University who may be vested with the authority to exercisediscipline under tha Acts, the Statutes, the Ordinance and the rulesthat have been framed there under by the University.

    23. Tutorials/Preceptorials/Internal Assessment

    (i) The scheme for Inter Assessment shall be followed in the regular

    stream only, with exclusions as per the Appendix, and shall beapplicable to the students admitted from the academic session2003-04 onwards (i.e. to begin with for the first year students) inboth undergraduate and post-graduate degree courses.

    (ii) Tutorials shall be held regularly for the post-graduate courses ofthe University by the concerned Department in cooperation withColleges, and at least 25% marks shall be assigned for InternalAssessment in each paper of the post-graduate courses.     the campus of your choice. Direct admission for Category I will be onthe basis of a separate Merit list & will be subject to the availability ofseats. Therfore, all candidates seeking admission under category I arealso strongly advised to appear for the Entrance.

    (ii) A candidates who secures admission under Category I will not be givenadmission under Category II (even if her name appears in the Merit Listfor Catogory II). In case the BA Honours results of the University ofDelhi are announced after the result of the Entrance Candidates whohave been placed under Category II will be such abjusted againstCategory I in case their names figure in the merit list of category I. Suchseats falling vacant under category II will be made available to otherqualified candidates.

    (iii) Notwithstanding the above, a student who is shortlisted for admissionin both category I & II is allowed to exercise her choice in case such achoice enables her to get the campus of her choice.

    (iv) Please note that the availability of your preference may depend on thecut off that is announced for each Merit List.

    (v) If the first preference of a candidate is not available in a given Merit List,the second preference will be considered, & if that is not available thenthe third will be considered.

    (vi) Please exercise care while choosing the campus as no request forchange of campus will be entertained after the Registration. Moreover,once a candidate has been made an offer of admission on the basis ofher second or third preferance of campus, she becoms automaticallyineligible for consideration for admission (on the basis of her First orsecond preference in the subsequent lists.

    3. Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB):

    (i) Only a woman candidates residing within the territorial jurisdiction ofthe University i.e. "NCT of Delhi" shall be entitled to be enrolled in theNCWEB.

    (ii) Apart from submitting the Application from in the Department of English,candidates seeking admission to NCWEB are also required to registerthemselves separately in the NCWEB on the dates which will be notifiedon the notice board at the Department of English, Main Campus.

    4. The Entrance Test

    (i) There will be a common Entrance Test for Admission to the MAprogramme for the Main Campus, the South Campus & the NCWEBconducted by the Department of English.

    (ii) The test will be held in the Department of English, Main Campus, ArtsFaculty, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.

    (iii) The Entrance Test will be designed to test the candidates' proficiency inEnglish language (including comprehension and writing skills) and theirknowledge of English literature and other literatures.

    (iii) For candidates beloging to the General Category, the Department maydix a cutoff mark for Part A after reviewing the overall perfomance. Theparts B & C of only those candidates who clear the cut off be evaluated.No such cut off may be dixed for Part A for candidates beloging to theReserved Categories.

    (5) Declaration of Entrance Results.

    (i) The marks & ranks of all the candidates who score the minimum qualifyingmarks & above will be displayed in the notice board at the Departmenton the specified date. (It will be also available on the University website.)

    (ii) Please note that a General Candidates has to score 40% & an OBCcandidates has to score 30% in the Entrance Test in order to be eligiblefor admission. There is no minimum reqirement for SC/ST candidates.

    (iii) Please note that clearing the Entrance Test does not assure a candidateof admission. Admission is based solely on the Merit List that will bepublished subsequently.

    (6) Issue of Admission slips & Admission:

    (i) Admission slips for admission to the colleges of the Main Campus,

    South Campus & to the NCWEB (only to those enrolled with the Non-Collegiate Woman's Education Board) will be issued from the office ofthe Department of English at the Main Campus on the notified dates.

    (ii) For admission to category II, the list will be prepared on the basis of themarks obtained in the Entrance Test & the choices of the campusindicated by the candidate in the Application form.

    (iii) Candidates have to produce the original Degree Certificate/ProvisionalCertificate & mark sheets & their attested copies when they collect theAdmission slip.

    (iv) After collecting the admission slip, the candidates has to go to thecollege of her choice with all the relevant documents in the original to

    (v) In case, the college of the choice of the candidates has no vacant seats,the candidates has to approach another college.     (vi) Outstation candidates should note that the process of admission maytake a number of days after the publication of the Result, & hence beprepared.

    7. Reservation.

    (i) The Depertment follows all the rules & regulations of the University ofDelhi with regard to relaxation in the eligiblity criterion in admission &reservation of seats in its MA programme.

    (ii) 5% of relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e. the Bachelor'sdegree) is given to SC/ST/PH students in the eligibility as per Universitynorms. Relaxation of marks is given to SC/ST candidates in the Entrancetest marks as specified in this bruchure.

    (iii) Candidates beloging to all categories should appear for the Entrancetest to be considered for admission in category II.

    (iv) Separate Merit lists will be drawn for each category & for each campus.

    Date and rules of M.A. (Sanskrit) entrance examination

    (a) The examination will consist of 1 00 marks and the time given would be

    2:30 hours.

    (2) The fees for entrance examination would be (Rs. 250/- Rupees twohundred and fifty only) and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST and PC which wouldneed to be submitted along with the registration from through draft infavour of Registrar, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.

    (3) Only those students would be provided with admit card for the entrancetest who fulfill the qualifications prescribed.

    (4) The merit list for hostel admission will be prepared on the basis ofadmission Test. Those students who wish to apply in hostels wouldhave to appear for the written Test.

    Course content for M.A. (Sanskrit) Admission/test

    The admission will be based on the level of B.A. (Hons.) Sanskrit examinationin subjects like Literature, Grammar, Philosophy etc. The Test will be alsoincludes question from contemporary subject based on General Knowledge.
