  • MEDIA IMPRESSIONSPre-launch and fi rst two weeks of earned media eff orts have resulted in 5.2 million impressions and more than 3.3 million impressions in paid print, digital and broadcast advertising.

Inaugural Columbus Film SummitThe Arts Council, in partnership with Film Columbus, hosted more than 100 people for an open discussion with fi lm industry leaders from around the country on developing a culture of support for fi lm and growing the fi lm economy in Columbus.

Confl ict Kitchen More than 80 people attended a dinner and discussion with international artist Jon Rubin to inspire and broaden the vocabulary about what Public Art can be and what it can do for the vitality and creativity of a com-munity such as Columbus. Confl ict Kitchen is a restaurant that only serves cuisine from countries with which the United States is in confl ict. Each Confl ict Kitchen iteration is augmented by events, performances, publications, and discussions that seek to expand the engagement the public has with the culture, politics, and issues at stake within the focus region. The restaurant rotates identities in relation to current geopolitical events. Cuba was the focus of the event with Cuban cuisine, entertain-ment by Clave Sonic and Cuban artwork from the Pizzuti Collection.

This fi rst of its kind street art project engages local artists and members of the public to create a unique art installation across the entire city. The project is the brainchild of Columbus artist Stephanie Rond. Rond

and fellow project director, artist Catherine Bell Smith, helped more than 600 people make tiles at the Columbus Arts Festival. To provide inspiration, 64 tiles were created by professional artists in visual arts, music, dance, fi lm and performance in advance of the festival. Approximately 300 community tiles created at the Arts Festival will be curated and installed in groups of fi ve, each set containing an inspiration tile and four community tiles, on street signs across the city in mid-July for four weeks. The entire installation will spell out the word “ART” when pinned on a Google Map of Columbus.

    >> Music performances were expanded with the successful addition of two new stages: Sharkey’s Jazz & Blues Club and the Acoustic Lounge.

    >> Although inclement weather hampered attendance, exhibiting artists report excellent sales
