    A Synopsis of “Legally Blonde”

Legally Blonde is the story of Elle Woods, a UCLA

sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win

back her ex-boyfriend, Warner. At Harvard, she discovers a

thing or two about self-reliance, helping others and the

true meaning of friendship as Elle finds the courage to

keep on going even when she seems predestined to fail.

Her determination shines through, and Elle eventually

becomes as proficient in law as she was in fashion

merchandising. With the strange combination of the two,

Elle takes control, both of the courtroom and her own life.

Good Luck to the Cast and Crew and may the lights

    shine ever brightly on you!

  • Message from the Clergy:

    Dear Legally Blonde-ers,

It has come to our attention that this year’s play is entitled Legally Blonde. We are not sure what is illegal about being blonde, but we will check with our USY Presidents and get back to you all. We would assume that there are all sorts of (Harvard) Variations to this play, but we are confident the one you chose is the best. Omigod You Guys! We know how much you all wanted to do this play and the many hours of dedication you put into it making sure it turned out amazing. We have a wonderful group of Seniors who took this Seriously and set the tone for this fantastic effort. You should all go into these performances with A Chip on Your Shoulders and show the community your talents. Mazel Tov on your achievement and thank you for making the synagogue so proud.

  • From Josh and Sam:

Last year, no one wanted to “grow up” and this year, you’re all finding your own way and becoming

dedicated lawyers! It is amazing to have a seasoned cast this year. You are all incredible performers! A huge thanks to the parents and play staff for making this such a wonderful experience. Thanks especially to our play co-chairs for making the process seamless. Special thanks to all of our sponsors, behind the scenes parents & crew, and to the entire cast. A

special thanks to our Senior Class students who have done a positively, seriously amazing job for the past six years!

Good luck next year with all of your endeavors!

Omigod you guys...Get ready to be wowed by our actors as they take us to Harvard.

Temple of Aaron Clergy and Staff wish the best of luck to everyone in the play. Your hard work paid off in great performances, lifelong memories, and

    great friendships.

Hi! My name is Lexi Dockman and I am a senior at Henry Sibley. I am currently deciding between several colleges to attend next year. I would like to study psychology and Spanish. I have been in the USY plays since 8th grade and have a blast each year! Some of my favorite play memories are decorating and dancing with our own mirrors in

Back to the 80’s, wearing the red sparkly dress as a Dynamite, and being a lead this year as Paulette. I love going to CMT each year and making so many friends of all ages. My favorite part is the CMT color run. I’m so lucky to have been a part of TUSY and I am so happy for all of the friendships I’ve made. I will cherish the memories forever!

Hi! I’m Rachel and I’m a senior at Henry Sibley High School. This is the 6th play I’m a part of and they have all been a blast! After I graduate, I am planning on going to either University of Wisconsin-Madison or Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for the fall. It will be hard to leave, but I’m excited to start

my new journey! I will never forget all the great bonding times at the play practice, and working on our super cool Indian dance last year! I also have many memories from CMT and our trip to New York that I will always remember!

  • Congrats to the Cast and Crew of Legally Blonde! Senior Biographies

Hi! My name is Hannah, I’m a senior at Henry

Sibley High School. I hope to soon get over my

college commitment issues and commit to either

Miami University, University of Minnesota, or

Harvard with Elle. My favorite play memories

include: being a stripper in Guys and Dolls,

hanging out backstage, and having the

opportunity to explore every ethnic character in

the TUSY plays. My favorite USY memories

include: CMT, board meetings, and lock-ins. I’m

so sad my time with TUSY is coming to an end.

    Enjoy the play!

Hi, I’m Sydney Roston. I am a senior at Henry Sibley High School. I am currently deciding between 10 colleges to attend next year. I am pretty sure I will be leaving Minnesota and the Midwest. My time in USY has made memories for me that I will treasure forever. I have enjoyed meeting people from all over Emtza region. My favorite USY moment was this past Kinnus where I planned and participated in the Senior program. This is my 6th play at the

Temple of Aaron. While this is my last play, I am not sad. In fact, I am proud of how I have grown into a senior and I’m proud to be on the stage with people I call my friends. We may not be fantastic, but we sure are having fun! TUSY and Emtza region, I thank you for all the fun and memories. Best wishes to all my senior friends with your endeavors next year. What an amazing time we have had!

  • Senior Biographies

Hi! My name is Maya Strohm and I’m a senior at Henry Sibley High School. This is my 6th and final Temple of Aaron production. My favorite play memory was when Hannah and I were strippers in Guys and Dolls! Hanging out backstage before the shows was always a

fun time. CMT has been my favorite USY memory because it’s such a great way to end the year with everybody. Next year, I will be attending college somewhere in the Midwest. I have enjoyed my time at Temple of Aaron and value the friendships I have made over the past years by being a member here.

Hi My name is Miri Taple. I’m a senior at Saint Paul Central High School. I plan on attending college next year, but have yet to choose which one. I will, however, end up at one of the following: UW-Madison, Tulane, Cal Poly, Savannah College of Art and Design, or Syracuse. Wherever I go, I plan on majoring in architecture and/or interior design. I have been involved in TUSY plays since 7th grade and they have produced life long memories and friends. My favorite memory is when we attempted to block a dodgeball scene in hairspray. It

was chaotic with non-athletic people and didn’t look like a game of dodgeball in the least, but it was incredibly fun nonetheless! Outside of the plays, my favorite TUSY memories are from the free time at CMT every year. Just getting the time to hang out with fellow TUSYers for a weekend has been special. I am sad that my last play has come, but it has been amazing. I hope you enjoy the show! Omigod!

  • NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

I have enjoyed directing ‘Legally Blonde’ way more than I ever thought I would. I saw the Reese Witherspoon movie in 2001, (I was 15) and that was it. I wasn’t even aware that they made it into a musical. So when I heard that I would be directing it, I did a double take and said “Legally huh…?” After reading through the script a few thousand times, I began to really love the message.

‘Legally Blonde’ is about finding your own way, and making something of yourself by yourself. In ‘Legally Blonde,’ no prince is going to come along, kiss Elle, and magically turn her into an amazing law student. There are no enchanted shoes, that when worn, turn her into a super-lawyer.

Sure she has a little help from her friends, but in the end, Elle is the one who puts in the time and energy to get it done. This play is about achieving your goals through hard work and determination, and really getting down to the dirt and grit of clawing your way towards an objective. So sit back and enjoy a show that shatters the stereotype of what it means to be “Legally Blonde.”

    Senior Biographies

Hey There! My name is David Wilton, and I am a senior at Henry Sibley High School. Next year, I plan on attending some college that has yet to be determined. My favorite memory from being in the Temple of Aaron plays isn't one single instance. Every play practice is fun, and I'd have to say that I enjoy all of them. The whole process of being in a play is amazing, and I'm so happy I was able to experience it. My favorite USY memory is

CMT 2014. A bunch of us were hanging out on the basketball court in the middle of the night, waiting for a meteor shower to come. The mete-ors never came, but we all had a great time being with each other. I will miss USY as I move into college, but I am so glad to have been a part of it.
