To mark the “Autism Speaks: Light It Up Blue” campaign and “World Autism
Awareness Day” (April 2) this newsletter has gone “Blue”.
“Light It Up Blue” is a yearly event designed to shed light on autism and bring
attention to the need for it’s further study. For more information on this event

And the “Art Star” of the Month is...
Great Job!!
I wanted to send a “Thank You” to all of those
who helped out the Art Program over the past
month with art supplies and materials, including
Kathleen M. (Dir. Of Program Services) and
Chris C. (Rm 310).
I also wanted to thank the staff of Ulster Sav-
ings Bank for allowing Anderson students to
display their artwork at the Red Hook branch.

Artists from the AEC’s Children’s Art Program and the Expressive Outcomes (Adult
Education Program) currently have their art on display at the Ulster County Savings
Bank in Red Hook, NY (7296 South Broadway).
The show will run the entire month of April during regular branch hours (see below), with
an opening reception on April 22nd. I hope to see everyone there!!

Lotus Flowers Spring is finally here (hopefully), and stu-
dents have started new seasonal projects.
The first, is the “Lotus” paintings that are
seen on this page. We hope you like
them!!
Materials: Drawing Paper, Tagboard,
Tempera Paint (Yellow, Blue, White, Red),
Crayons, Newspaper, Masking Tape,
Techniques/Skills: Color Mixing, Col-
lage.
