Academic Research

Authored a dissertation entitled “An empirical study on the effectiveness of value investment strategies in the

Indian context.” (December 2013-December 2014)

Quantitative strategies suggested by legendary investors like Benjamin Graham, Fisher, Joel Greenblatt in their

books Intelligent Investor, Common stocks and uncommon profits and The little book that the beats the market

respectively. The strategies were tested for 1 year, 2 year, 3 year and 5 year holding periods. Single factor models

like low PE, low PBV, High Dividend yield and low PS were also tested.

Developed a new investment strategy that was combination of various strategies of legendary value investors like

Benjamin Graham, Fisher and Joel Greenblatt. These strategies evaluated a company based on the financial,

managerial and operational efficiency. All the strategies were ranked based on Sharpe ratio. The new strategy was

adjudged the best based on Sharpe ratio. A flexible stock screener was created using macros as part of my

dissertation which can back test strategies from 2002 to 2014.
