Sustainability

Our hotel has kept over the years an effort to help the natural and social environment; we know that a responsible company takes care of its own interests, its collaborators and its community. Guarding the environment and assure the social growth of our community is one of our major concerns. Main goal: To establish the rules, policies, processes and manuals that will lead us on making of Arenal Paraiso Hotel & Resort a highly sustainable property by involving the operations, the administration and the environment.

This has been a permanent effort on our daily basis. Our hotel has being rated as level 3 under the CST certification parameters.

CST

The Touristic Sustainability Certificate is a program by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, designed to categorize and differentiate tourism companies according to how close the company’s operations keep a sustainable model in regards natural, cultural and social resources.

This award is given by the Accreditation National Commission with headquarters in Costa Rica based on the following criteria:

1. Physical-Biologic environment Evaluates the interaction of the company with its natural surrounding; interested in implementing policies and sustainability programs, environment protection among other.

2. Services Plant Evaluates systems and internal processes in the company regarding waste material management and technology utilization for light and water savings.

3. Customer Evaluates actions taken by the company’s management to invite the customer to participate in the implementation of sustainability policies.

4. Social-economical environment Evaluates the identification and interaction of the company with the adjacent communities, analyzing for example, how tourism companies respond to growth and development of the region, through jobs generation or benefits through collectivity
