The map shows basic topographic features such as hydrology, built-up areas andtransportation in the area of Ebro river basin.These basic topographic features are derived from Instituto Geográfico Nacional, refined bymeans of visual interpretation of pre-event imagery.All imagery has been radiometrically enhanced and georeferenced.The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 2m CE90 or better.The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 85% or better, as the analysis techniquehas been validated by several in field validation campaigns. Please be aware that thethematic accuracy may be lower in urban and forested areas due to known limitation of theanalysis technique.Map produced on 28/02/2013 by GAF AG under contract 257219 with the EuropeanCommission. The products elaborated in the framework of current mapping in rush mode activation arerealized to the best of our ability, with a very short time frame during crises, optimizing theavailable data and information. All geographic information has limitation due to scale,resolution, date end, interpretation of the original data sources.
No restrictions on the publication of the mapping apply.Delivery formats are GeoTIFF, GeoPDF, GeoJPEG and vectors (shapefile and KML formats).

Heavy rains across parts of the Ebro river basin near Zaragoza have caused flooding innumerous rural and urban areas. The most affected built-up areas are Pradilla de Ebro,Alcalá de Ebro and Cabañas de Ebro.The flood has been caused by successive rains that led to the strong rise of the river Ebroand its tributaries.The absolute maximum of this long precipitation event occurred in Castejón on January 21stand in Zaragoza on January 23rd when the Ebro river reached its highest level.The core user of the map is Dirección General de Protección Civil y Emergencias.The scope of the map production is to support the Dirección General de Protección Civil yEmergencias in outlining the flood maximum.
