Yes / No Questions Yes / No questions are a tricky business in English. Do lots of drills and always listen carefully for your students‘ answers. Do they match the question? Start drilling! How to use the worksheet.1. Elicit an answer or two by asking a few simple Yes / No questions.2. Drill the simple patterns. 3. Show students how to expand and why. Do you like skiing? No. This just sounds rude! Do you like skiing? No, I don’t. Do you? Still not perfect but MUCH better.4. Have students talk in small groups and start their conversations with a question. (It’s up to you to make up some good ones but that’s not hard.)5. Listen and correct. 6. Use the worksheet to reinforce all of what you’ve done. Use the preset conversations to practice pronunciation. 7. Start up new conversations and talk, talk, talk!
