❖ CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 46

Leader: God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble.

People: Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way.The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress!

❖ O GOD, OUR HELP IN AGES PAST, #30ST. ANNE, Isaac Watts and William Croft

Our God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come Our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home

Under the shadow of your throne your saints have dwelt secure Sufficient is your arm alone and our defense is sure

Before the hills in order stood or earth received her frame From everlasting you are God, to endless years the same

A thousand ages in your sight are like an evening gone Short as the watch that ends the night before the rising sun

❖ PRAYER OF ADORATION

❖ AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Creed of Eusebius

Leader: We believe in God the Father Almighty,

People: Maker of all things visible and invisible.

Leader: We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Word of God,

All: God of God, Light of Light, Life of Life, the only-begotten Son,

the first-born of every creature, begotten of God the Father before all ages, by whom all things were made; who for our salvation was made flesh and made his home among men; and suffered; and rose on the third day; and ascended to the Father.

Leader: We believe also in one Holy Spirit.

All: We believe that each of these is and exists: The Father truly Father, and the Son truly Son, and the Holy Spirit truly Holy Spirit.

Leader: As our Lord, when sending forth his disciples, said:

All: Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER FOR CHRIST’S CHURCH AND THE WORLD

✢ I SHALL NOT WANTBryan Brown and Audrey Assad

From the love of my own comfort From the fear of having nothing From a life of worldly passions Deliver me O God

From the need to be understood From a need to be accepted, From the fear of being lonely Deliver me O God, deliver me O God

Chorus: And I shall not want, no I shall not want When I taste your goodness I shall not want When I taste your goodness I shall not want

From the fear of serving others From the fear of death or trial From the fear of humility Deliver me O God, deliver me O God (Chorus)

And I shall not want, no I shall not want When I taste your goodness I shall not want (Chorus)

❖ WORDS OF ASSURANCE 1 John 3

Leader: How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

People: Thanks be to God for his amazing love!

❖ YET NOT I BUT THROUGH CHRIST IN MEJonny Robinson, Rich Thompson, and Michael Farren

What gift of grace is Jesus my Redeemer There is no more for heaven now to give He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus For my life is wholly bound to his Oh how strange and divine, I can sing all is mine Yet not I but through Christ in me

The night is dark but I am not forsaken For by my side the Savior, he will stay I labour on in weakness and rejoicing For in my need his power is displayed To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me Through the deepest valley he will lead Oh the night has been won and I shall overcome Yet not I but through Christ in me

No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven The future sure, the price it has been paid For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon And he was raised to overthrow the grave To this I hold, my sin has been defeated Jesus now and ever is my plea Oh the chains are released, I can sing I am free Yet not I but through Christ in me

With every breath I long to follow Jesus For he has said that he will bring me home And day by day I know he will renew me Until I stand with joy before the throne

To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I but through Christ in me (Repeat)

When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I but through Christ in meYet not I but through Christ in meYet not I but through Christ in me

THE SERMON “What Shall We Do?” The Book of Acts: Grafted In

Minister: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

Minister: Lift up your hearts.

People: We lift them up unto the Lord.

Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING & WORDS OF INSTITUTION

Minister: Let us proclaim the mystery of faith:

All: Christ has died. Christ is risen.Christ will come again.

Minister: Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed for us.

People: Therefore, let us keep the feast.

Minister: The gifts of God for the people of God. Come and feed on him in your hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Please let an usher know if it is difficult for you to come forward; we would be happy to serve you at your seat.

All communion bread is gluten-free.

Prayer of Seeking Truth

Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way,

the truth and the life.If what you claim

is true, please guide me, teach me, and

open to me the reality of who you are.

Grant that I might be undaunted by the

cost of following you as I consider the

reasons for doing so. Give me an

understanding of you that is coherent,

convincing, and that leads to the life

that you promise. Amen

Prayer of Belief

Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker

and more sinful than I ever before

believed, but through you, I am more

loved and accepted than I ever dared to

hope. I thank you for paying my debt,

bearing my punishment on the cross

and offering forgiveness and new life.

Knowing that you have been raised

from the dead, I turn from my sins and

receive you as my Savior. Amen.

❖ MORE THAN WE KNOWJoe Deegan

When we walk through the desert for forty years straight It may feel like the Lord doesn’t care But the manna that feeds us day after day Is the proof that he’s always been there It’s the proof that he’s always been there

Chorus: The Lord loves his children more than we know All that he does he does to show That he’ll never forsake us, he’ll never let go The Lord loves his children more than we know

When we stare down that giant standing so tall As he’s marching toward us on the field The Lord sends his champion to fight for us all And his children need only be still His children need only be still (Chorus)

When the hour grows dark he closes his eyes And our Savior breathes his last breath He pierces the darkness, he comes back to life So his children don’t have to fear death His children don’t have to fear death (Chorus)

❖ BENEDICTION from Zephaniah 3

Minister: The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save, he will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

People: Thanks be to God. Amen. ❖ WHO YOU SAY I AM

Through this workshop, we’ll discover why making disciples is at the very heart of God’s work; the stages and steps of spiritual development; how to have Gospel conversations; and practical tools to create intentional followers of Jesus.
