According to the U.S. Depart- ment of Energy, plug-in electric vehicles can save you money with much lower fuel costs, on average, than conventional gasoline-powered vehicles. To com- pare the costs of driving with electricity to cars that use regular gasoline, visit www.energy.gov/eGallon. For those who currently drive a plug-in EV, or those thinking about making the switch, consider signing up for Central Georgia EMC’s Residential Time-of-Use (TOU) rate option. This rate option gives residential customer-owners more control of costs by shifting electric usage from periods when prices are higher (on-peak) to periods when prices are lowest (off-peak). The TOU rate option offers potential savings when you charge your vehicle during off-peak hours. Once a high-tech novelty, electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming increasingly popular. Improvements in EV technology, resulting in a longer driving range per charge, coupled with overall decreasing costs, are influencing consumers to go green with their transportation options. For those who currently drive a plug-in EV, or those thinking about making the switch, consider signing up for Central Georgia EMC’s Residential Time-of-Use (TOU) rate option.
