Arctica 4804iq is a 48 port GbE Layer 3 switch in a compact 1U form factor, suited for both Enterprise and Data Center environments. The switch provides 48 10-BaseT/100-BaseTX/1000-BaseT ports and 4 1G/10G SFP+ ports and offers advanced DCB features. The system includes high reliability features, such as redundant and hot swappable power supplies and fans in forward and reverse airflow configurations. Arctica 4804iq implements x86-based control plane for easier integration of automation tools, and an ONIE installer for third party network operating systems and compatibility with Software Defined Net- works via OpenFlow 1.3.1. Currently, Cumulus Linux is supported on Arctica 4804iq and more software options are being planned in the future. Software Options Cumulus Linux (versions 2.5.4 and above) is a network operating system that provides an open platform for customers, system integrators and solutions providers to use as is or build rack management applications on top. This is a true Linux distribution, it can be automated and managed using the same Linux tools employed to automate and manage switches and servers in a software defined data center.
