OPTION 1 : INSTITUTE FOR AYURVEDIC SCIENCE AND RESEARCH
INTRODUCTION:
Ayurveda, “the complete knowledge for long life” or ayurvedic medicine is a system of traditional medicine native to India. Over the period, ayurvedic practitioners developed a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for the treatment of various ailments proving ayurveda to be more efficient compared to other forms of medicine.
The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree is the basic five-and-a-half year course of graduation. It includes eighteen different subjects along with subjects on ayurveda like Charaka Samhita, history and evolution of ayurveda, identification and usage of herbs, and ayurvedic philosophy in diagnostics and treatment. Post graduate courses are also available.
Ayurveda is an ever green subject and has a wide scope for research and development. The present scenario within and outside India like Sri Lanka, the US etc. show that importance for ayurvedic science as alternative and complimentary medicine has increased in the recent past. No of students opting for ayurveda as a career rose appreciably. The project aims at advocating education in ayurvedic science and research by providing the essential standards and infrastructure along with imbibition of traditional ethos.
AIM:
The aim of the project is to design an ayurvedic institute whose main concern is to revitalize the essence of ayurveda and compose an environment that helps students develop an affinity with the elements of ayurveda.
OBJECTIVES :
To design an institute in a traditional personality with the essence of Vedic concepts
To provide a simple, traditional environment, such that the students shall sense the nature of vedic science
Barrier free, accessible and sustainable designing Courtyard integration and landscaping with medicinal
plants, herbal gardens, water etc. Balance of the built forms and the un built forms Use of traditional elements and materials
SCOPE :
Study of vedic literature related to ayurveda that forms the basis for the design
The institute shall comprise of academic block, administration block, hospital, herbal gardens, hostels and staff quarters
The site shall be located in the area of ayurvedic medicinal value
LIMITATIONS :
The project limits its scope to design of academic block and hospital, the rest shall be dealt at the site level
The study shall not go in depth of construction techniques, specifications or project costs. Details where ever necessary shall be dealt.
The emphasis is on physical development
OPTION 2 : TELUGU LITERATURE AND CULTURAL MUSEUM
INTRODUCTION:
Museums are institutions that are catered to conserve, research, and display the tangible and intangible heritage of different products and aspects for the purpose of education and enjoyment.
Literature is a significant form of echoing the heritage and culture of a particular period or territory. The Telugu literature or Telugu Sahityam is one of the most precious possessions of the literary products of India. It is a rich reserve of poems, dramas, stories and puranas. Imitating the west led to the dissolution of Telugu culture and literature in the recent times.
The project aims at reviving the rich Telugu culture and heritage by exposing and educating the common man about different periods in Telugu literature and help hobbyists and professionals for their respective projects and research work.
AIM :
The aim of the project is to design a museum whose main concern is to preserve the rich heritage of telugu literature and culture and reflect the vitality of the culture in architecture.
OBJECTIVES :
To design a museum whose objective is to collect, preserve, study and exhibit material related to telugu literature and culture by tracing the history of six major periods starting from the 11th century to the modern times
Each space to be designed in respect to the particular period to echo the importance and uniqueness of each period
Barrier free, accessible and sustainable designing Visual communication and art in architecture
SCOPE :
The museum shall comprise of collection of history of poets and writers of different periods that include their biography, works and contribution to telugu
literature in the form of paintings, artifacts, and other possible mode of communication segregated into different galleries and workshops
Supplementary entities that reflect the culture of a particular period to be acknowledged
Includes an exhaustive library and learning centre with a valuable collection of books
The museum shall host display areas for temporary and semi permanent exhibitions
To be complimented with areas like audio visual rooms, auditorium etc. to host periodical events and other amenities
Site to be located in area of heritage significance
LIMITATIONS :
The research limits its scope to the important visionaries and culture of each period
The design shall not give any detailing work such as construction techniques, interior detailing etc. details where ever necessary shall be dealt.
The project shall not deal with costs and specifications
