CN1: PROGRAMMING CONNECTOR (Sheet 1/9 of the schematic)
DESCRIPTION: FLAT 2X10 male ARM JTAG connector (20 pins) to connect to the user debug interface. To enable JTAG close J1 and to enable "Boundary scan operation" close pins 2-3 of J3.
CN2: SERIAL DEBUG CONSOLE (Sheet 9/9 of the schematic)
DESCRIPTION: USB mini-B connector to access the serial console. Use the following settings:
The USB to serial connection is made possible by FTDI chip FT232RL

DESCRIPTION: DUAL USB A connector: two standard USB HOST ports with common 5V power supply with a maximum
current of 1A available limited by a resettable fuse.
CN4: CAN BUS CONNECTOR (Sheet 7/9 of the schematic)
DESCRIPTION: MOLEX KK100 3 pins header connector. Using this connector it is possible to connect the Hachiko board to
a CAN (Controller Area Network) bus.

2X MALE STRIP 17X2 P.2,54mm allow the access to all the unused pins of the microcontroller and can be used to
connect expansion boards like for example a display board.

As shown in Thermal Image 1, there
are three areas where the
temperature is above 30°C:
1) the Renesas R7S721000VLFP
microcontroller;
2) the Renesas UPD60610
ethernet PHY;
3) the Maxim MAX5098AATJ
dc/dc switching converter
Thermal Image 2 is a close view on the Renesas
R7S721000VLFP microcontroller.
The LQFP-256 package temperature is about 40°C.
Thermal Image 3 shows the area of the board
where there is the highest temperature.
The Renesas UPD60610 ethernet PHY temperature
is about 50°C.
Thermal Image 4 shows the Maxim MAX5098AATJ
dc/dc switching converter package.
The QFN-32 package temperature is about 36°C.

Appendix A: how to connect the BAEPENGWYN Display board to the Hachiko board To connect a BAEPENGWYN Display board to the Hachiko board allign the connectors as shown in the following picture.
