New Year, New ChallengeThe New Year has arrived! Wewish you a blessed and healthy

2018.A new year means it’s time to trysomething new! It’s best to getout of your comfort zone, say

doctors. That may meanlearning to speak a new

language or play a musicalinstrument, or taking on anotheractivity that’s new to you. Doing

something challenging thatrequires being mentally and

socially engaged and uses a highlevel of cognitive processes helps

maintain the connectionsbetween brain cells. Researchers

say pursuits that requirecontinuous challenges showed

the biggest benefits. We have a wide variety of events

& activities here at ArcadiaGardens. We hope you will getout and take advantage of whatwe have to offer. Not only is it away to make new friendships,it’s good for the body & soul!

With God ’s blessings,Pat Redner- Executive

Eat Eggs to FeedYour Brain

Experts say including eggs inyour diet may help enhancebrain function by providingyour body with key buildingblocks. Along with vitaminsB-12 and D, egg yolks are a richsource of choline, an essentialnutrient needed to produceneurotransmitters, which arechemicals that brain cells use tocommunicate with each other.

May I Help You?

It’s not just a question; it is thephilosophy of Arcadia Gardensand the cornerstone of what wedo here. There are manyquestions asked of employeesand other residents. Theadministration has hiredexperienced individuals to fulfillthe role of helping others.

There are questions about themail: how often is the maildelivered and how do we get ourmail? There may be a time whenwe are locked out of our roomor our room key falls down theelevator space between theelevator doors and floor fromwhere we entered. Then, a morecomplicated question like: howdo we get setup with a van &driver for our doctor’sappointments?

We need to know help is on theway. We can go to the front deskor call from our room. We havevery helpful and caringindividuals at the front desk.Suppose we have not gotten ourquestions answered to oursatisfaction? This is where AnnaGuglielmi, Community CareDirector, or Pat Redner,Executive Director will step in.
