*Three or more entries shown & judged constitute a class for the purpose of awarding prize money. Payback shall be
determined by the number of entries shown & judged. Six horses pay to 4th place; five horses pay to 3rd place; four horses
back to 2nd place; three horses pay to 1st place. There will be no payback on classes with less than three horses shown &
judged.
All prize money must be picked up at the show! No checks will be mailed!
Arabian Springfest will not be responsible for payment of prize money 30 days after date of issuance! Please cash checks
promptly!
OPTION CLASSES
There will be 26 Option Classes available. They will be named A-Z. They will run in the schedule wherever you choose. Example, 20C
will follow class 20. Option classes will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis sent along with payment of fees. Choosing to hold
the class requires a $40 fee with no additional entry fee. After the initial fee is paid, additional entries will pay the standard $30 to enter.
Send your request with your entry or make it in the show office. There will be no post entry fees for entering any Option Class. Arabian
Springfest will limit the number of Option Classes per session.
Any class on the AHA standard class list may be chosen, except the following divisions: Sport Horse, Dressage, Western Dressage, Driven Dressage, Carriage Pleasure
Driving, Combined Driving, Poles, Working Hunter, Jumper, Working Cow, Reined Cow, Cutting, Ranch Sorting, Herd Work, Team Penning, or Eventing.
Any class purchased may be given any acceptable divisions, age splits or extensions from the standard AHA class list (i.e. ATR/Limit/AOTR/Open/JR Horse/etc). Arabian
Breeders Sweepstakes points cannot be earned from any Option Class. No Option championship classes allowed.

AGE OF HORSES: For horse show purposes, any horse shall be considered to be one year old on the first day of January following the actual date of foaling.
AHA MEDAL CLASSES: See USEF Rule Book Arabian, Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian Division.
AMATEUR STATUS - Every amateur having reached their 19th birthday by December 1 must possess a current USEF Amateur card. Only active Federation members
may obtain amateur certification, Amateur cards are no longer available for non-members. Any person who enters the show ring in any class without having their USEF
Amateur card on file in the show office will be assessed a $100 fine and will be disqualified from the class. A handler change form will be invalid if the amateur card has
not been provided to the show office prior to the class. Combined ownership is not permitted in Amateur Owner classes unless all owners are members of the same family.
Leased horses are not eligible for amateur owner classes.

JUNIORS: An individual who has not reached his/her 19th birthday as of December 1st of the current competition year. The age of an individual on December 1st will be
maintained throughout the entire competition year (See USEF Rule Book).
PERFORMANCE HALTER – The In the Ring Procedure will be used.
SCHEDULE - Show Management reserves the right to change the dates and/or the location of the show or to cancel the show altogether. In the event of a cancellation,
all entry fees and stall fees will be refunded (office fees are non-refundable). Neither the Show Management nor ARAB, Inc, the Illinois Arabian Horse Association, or
IlIini Arabian Horse Club, Inc, shall have any liability to any exhibitor, owner, handler or other person, firm or corporation by reason of any change or cancellation of the
show, except for the return of fees as aforesaid.
SCHOOLING CLASS - Open to All Disciplines/Riders (Show attire not necessary class will not be judged, must enter and wear back number in class). This class will
be used as a warm up practice class for all horses. All horses must be entered in show and pay appropriate fees.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This Horse Show is conducted in accordance with the Rules of the USEF, particularly the Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian Horse Division, and the rules of the
Arabian Horse Association (AHA). The official rulebook of each organization will prevail for this show. Each participant in this show is responsible for knowledge of
these rules and is subject to these rules. Any changes or corrections of the rules will automatically become part of this prize list. Questions that may arise that are not
covered by either AHA or USEF rulebooks will be decided by the Show Committee and their decisions will be final.
Horses shown in this division must have been issued a certificate of Registration from the Arabian Horse Registry of America, Inc. (or in the case of a foreign entry, have
been issued a Competition Visa by the Arabian Horse Registry of America) and/or the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry and registration applied for and must be entered
Under their full registered 10 name. (Only weanlings that have had registration applied for may show without registration papers.) All entries, except in equitation and
showmanship classes must be serviceably sound. A copy of the registration papers showing proof of ownership MUST be submitted with entry form at the time of making
entry. In the case of a sale or lease, it is required that a contract of the sale or lease, or a statement from owner be submitted with the copy of the registration papers. All
entries must be in good condition. Horses with loss of sight in one eye may compete in performance classes only.
Half-Arabian or Anglo-Arabian horses will be allowed in the Half-Arabian classes only (except where otherwise specifically stated) and must have been issued a certificate
of registration from the Arabian Horse Association in the Half-Arabian or the Anglo-Arabian Registry, or a Canadian Half-Arabian registration papers. AND MUST BE
ENTERED UNDER THEIR FULL REGISTERED NAME. PHOTOCOPY OF BOTH SIDES OF THE REGISTRATION PAPERS OF EACH HORSE MUST BE
SUBMITTED WITH THE ENTRY FORM. A FEE OF $10.00 WILL BE CHARGED FOR EACH HORSE WITHOUT COPY SUBMITTED WITH ENTRY.
AHA Membership - All owners, trainers, riders, drivers, and handlers must be a current Competition Level Member of the Arabian Horse Association or pay a Single
Event Membership of $35 per person. Walk/trot & leadline riders are exempt from this. Single Event Members shall only have exhibiting privileges for the duration of
the event where the membership is purchased.
AHA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT - EACH COMPETITOR (THIS INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE RECORDED OWNER AND ALL TRAINERS, DRIVERS,
RIDERS, HALTER HANDLERS, COACHES AND THE PERSON(S) SIGNING THE ENTRY BLANK) IN AN ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZED
ARABIAN DIVISION, AT THE TIME OF ENTRY INTO A COMPETITION, MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF A VALID AHA MEMBERSHIP/COMPETITION CARD,
JOIN AHA OR PAY AN AHA SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP FEE PER COMPETITOR. WHEN AN AGENT SIGNS FOR THE OWNER AT AN AHA
RECOGNIZED COMPETITION, BOTH THE OWNER AND AGENT MUST BE MEMBERS OF AHA OR PAY THE AHA SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES - Stalls available at 8AM on Thursday, April 5, and all horses and equipment must be removed by 12.00 Noon on Sunday, April 8.
Anyone wishing to arrive earlier than Thursday or stay later than Sunday noon, must make special arrangements with Gordyville PH 217‐568‐7117 to stay off site until
the stalls are put up in the barn. Gordyville may charge for early arrival. Please check with them.
ATTENDANTS, DUTIES AND APPEARANCE - All Attendants in charge of horses, or assisting with the preparation and showing of the horses, will be subject to
orders of the Horse Show Manager. All Attendants MUST be suitably and neatly dressed when entering the ring. Exhibitor must be correctly attired for the class, and
Attendants be neatly dressed and horses properly presented.
ADMISSION TO ARENA - No person will be permitted to enter the arena except the judges, their assistants, the exhibitors in the class and the show photographer.
Headers will not be permitted in the arena until summoned by order of the Judge.
ARENAS - Show arena is 100x210, clay base/sand. Warm up arena is 100x180, clay base/sand.
CAMPERS: If camping at Gordyville USA, there will be a fee per day for electrical hookups, payable to the Show Office. Contact Gordyville USA (217) 568‐7117.
CASHING CHECKS - Personal or payback checks will not be cashed in the Show Office, however, payback checks may be used to pay entry fees.
CLASS CALLS - Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device, the public address system must be considered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the
exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to maintain a working public address system to carry class calls. As
the first horse enters the ingate, a two-minute time rule shall be enforced. Exhibitors should notify the ring announcer AND gate personnel if a tack change is required.
The 2‐minute rule will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. If time is needed for a tack change, the gate must be notified. All tack changes must be made at the entrance gate to
the show arena. The gate will close two minutes after the first horse enters the ring or with large classes taking more than two minutes, the gate will close after the entrance
of the final horse in a continuous string of horses. This rule will be strictly enforced.
COGGINS, VACINATIONS & HEALTH CERTIFICATE –Mandatory for all horses coming onto the WestWorld property as per Arizona state law: A negative Coggins
(dated within the previous twelve months) and a Health Certificate (dated within the previous thirty days) for all horse originating outside of Arizona. Coggins and Health
certificate must match the horse being entered into the show and must include a complete description of horse, that the horse is coming to the show and give location of
return trip. Horses will not be permitted on the WestWorld property without the submission of a Coggins, health certificate (for horses from outside of Arizona) and
MUST be accompanied by documentation showing vaccinations for Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) within 6 months . Horses
caught on property without necessary paperwork will be asked to leave the grounds and will not be given a refund of any fees. PLEASE SUBMIT A COPY OF THE
PAPERWORK WITH ENTRIES AND HAVE ORIGINAL COPY WITH YOU AS INSPECTIONS WILL BE DONE. Back numbers will not be released until show
office has copy.
COPIES OF USEF AND AHA MEMBERSHIP CARDS - AHA has resolved that owners, trainers, riders, drivers, handlers must provide a photocopy of their current
AHA and USEF or CEF membership card with their entry form. AHA no longer accepts affidavits, membership cards must be shown or a single event fee must be paid.
Anyone not having USEF or AHA cards must pay the non-member/show pass fees.
CLOSING OF ENTRIES - Entries close March 18, 2018. Entries postmarked after March 18, 2018 will be charged POST ENTRY FEES! This will be strictly enforced!
Post entries will be accepted but must be made before the show office closes the night before for a morning session class, before the morning session ends for an afternoon
session class, or before the afternoon session ends for an evening class A $5 post entry fee will be charged per class. There will be no credit for swapping classes. No
post‐dated checks.
DISCIPLINE - Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials on the part of the owner, groom, trainer, rider, driver or member of the
family of the person participating in the show, will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves the right to remove a groom, horse, rider, trainer or
driver from the show without being liable for compensation or damages.
It is a violation of USEF Rules to commit any act or make remarks during the show that are considered offensive or made with intent to influence or cast aspersions on
the judging, and any exhibitor may be barred from the show for this offense by the Show Committee.
DISQUALIFICATION - Refer to current USEF Rule book. Any horses doctored in any way artificially, improperly or unfairly prepared or tampered with before entering
the show ring will be disqualified. If it is ascertained that any exhibitor has made or caused to be made, any false statement in regard to any animal or article exhibited, or
if any exhibitor shall attempt to interfere with judges in the performance of their duties, he or she shall be excluded from competing or exhibiting. In case of any horse
being disqualified, the winner of the next succeeding prize in the class shall take the prize that has been awarded to such disqualified horse.
DISPUTE NOT COVERED BY RULES - Should any question or dispute arise not provided for in the governing rules, the same shall be referred to the Show Committee,
whose decision will be final.
DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS - The drugs and medication Rule contained in the USEF Rule Book will be enforced. Horses in competition will be subject to examination
by a licensed veterinarian appointed by USEF. Said appointed licensed veterinarian, with approval of the USEF, may appoint a technician to perform certain duties Under
USEF rules. The examination may include physical, saliva, urine, blood tests or any other test or procedure at the discretion of said licensed veterinarian necessary to
effectuate the purposes of this rule. These representatives must be treated with respect. All horses, Halter, Performance and Equitation will be charged $16.00 drug fee
per horse to defray the expenses of drug testing. CAUTION: REFUSAL TO SUBMIT A HORSE FOR EXAMINATION, WHETHER IN COMPETITION OR NOT,
AND TO COOPERATE WITH THE VETERINARIAN AND TECHNICIANS UNTIL THE SAMPLES HAVE BEEN TAKEN CONSTITUTES A VIOLATION AND
SUBJECTS THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON TO THE PENALTIES UNDER THE RULES.
EXCESSIVE USE OF THE WHIP ON ANY HORSE IN A STALL, RUNWAY, SCHOOLING AREA, SHOW RING OR ELSEWHERE ON THE COMPETITION
GROUNDS BEFORE OR DURING A SHOW, BY ANY PERSON, CONSTITUTES A VIOLATION AND RENDERS THE OFFENDER SUBJECT TO PENALTY.
JUDGES WILL BE EXPECTED TO ENFORCE THIS IN THE ARENA.
ENTRIES - Entries must be on the official entry form or a photocopy of the form for this show. Copy of horse’s registration papers must accompany all entries. All
horse(s) entered belonging to one owner must be entered on one entry form (additional entry form sheets may be attached). No horse may be entered on more than one
entry form. The complete name and address of the registered owner must appear in the space entitled OWNER INFORMATION. One, and only one, owner can appear
on each entry form. Farm name may not be used unless (1) the stable or farm is the bona fide owner appearing on the horse’s registration papers, or (2) the stable or farm
name has been registered with USEF and the number shown on the USEF certificate is noted in the space provided. If a farm name is used as Owner, the farm must have
an AHA Farm/Ranch Membership and that Farm/Ranch Membership Number must be used as the Owner AHA number. A copy of the Farm/Ranch membership card
must accompany the entry. Owner, trainer and rider must sign the entry form in the spaces provided. If owner, trainer and rider are the same, owner must sign in both
spaces. (Trainer is “any adult who has the responsibility for the care, training, custody or performance of a horse”). The permission for a minor to show section on the
entry form must be completed with birth date of junior exhibitor and signature of parent or guardian.
ENTRY REFUSAL - The Show Committee reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or cancel any entries of any exhibitor at their discretion as stated in the
current USEF Rule Book.
ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION - Electronic communication devices used for the purpose of coaching, etc., between competitors and individuals outside the ring
shall be prohibited in all classes in the Arabian Division. Exempt from this rule are handicapped riders who have submitted written proof to the USEF Steward.
FARRIER - A Farrier will be on the grounds during all performances. No farrier other than the official farrier(s) will be permitted to shoe on the grounds without the
express permission of Show Management. Farriers granted this permission will be required to purchase Commercial Exhibitor space and provide proof of insurance.
Official show farrier(s), the USEF Steward (s) and the judge are the final authorities on shoe and hoof measurements.
FIRST AID - First aid treatment will be available during all performances.
HOOF INSPECTION - Random inspection of shoes, pads and hoof length by appropriate show officials, in the presence of the trainer, may be done at the discretion of
the show management. Champion and Reserve Champions may be inspected.
HEALTH PAPERS - The State of IL requires a negative Coggins test on all horses and 30 day health papers on all out of state horses, and as of 2/1/2004 your veterinarian
must also obtain an entrance permit number for your horse by calling the Bureau of Animal Health at (217) 782‐4944.
INDEMNITY AND NON‐RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE - ARAB, Inc, the Illinois Arabian Horse Association, IlIini Arabian Horse Club, Inc., Gordon Hannagan Auction
Company will not be responsible for any loss, personal injury or damage to horses exhibited or for any kind or nature that may be lost or destroyed or in any way damaged
INSURANCE ADVISORY - Due to the number and quality of horses, we urge each exhibitor to verify their liability insurance coverage and their livestock mortality
coverage with their own insurance carrier(s). Be sure your coverage is in effect. The show accepts no responsibility for losses sustained or caused by any exhibitor.
JUDGES - The Show Committee reserves the right to substitute a Judge for the one who is officially designated in the Prize List, according to USEF Rules. No contact
shall be made with the Judges during the period of the show unless accompanied by a member of the Show Committee. Further, no exhibitor shall approach a Judge
regarding a decision unless he/she first obtains permission from the Steward, who shall arrange an appointment with the Judge at a proper time and place.
JUDGING SYSTEM - The Single Judge System as outlined in the current AHA Handbook will be utilized for all classes.
MOTORIZED VEHICLES - Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they r eside will not
be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds
of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult
with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guard ian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in
violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions
against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s),
guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed agai nst any of the above individuals in accordance
with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
"NO SHOW" PENALTY FEE - To expedite flow of classes scratches MUST be reported to the show office or Paddock Master before beginning of the class If
scratches are not reported, a $30 "No Show" fee will be assessed This fee will be assessed each time there is "No Show"
NUMBER OF ENTRIES IN A CLASS - Any class with less than three entries may, at the discretion of the Show Committee, be combined with another class or cancelled,
and the exhibitors in the class(es) will be notified accordingly. Large classes may be divided and conducted as two separate classes with duplicate prizes and awards.
PAYMENT - No entries shall be accepted without full payment. No BLANK or POST DATED CHECKS accepted for pre‐entries or stall reservations! Entries submitted
with bad checks will not be processed and will be returned to applicant. There will be a $25 charge per check for all checks returned by the bank. In addition, interest of
1 1/2% per month will be assessed all outstanding accounts Returned checks not paid within two weeks after being notified will be turned over to USEF and AHA The
show checking accounts will be closed sixty (60) days after the show/ No prize money checks will be honored after that date.
PHOTOGRAPHS - Anyone who attends this show automatically grants Arabian Springfest permission to publish photos taken by Arabian Springfest photographers
and/or staff in which they and/or their horses appear. No written release is required for Arabian Springfest to publish these photos in promotional material.
PROTEST - A protest must be filed as set forth in the USEF Rules.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR - Refer to current USEF Rule Book.
REFUNDS - All fees for entries cancelled before March 17, 2018 will be refunded. Refunds of class entry fees only will be made after this date upon presentation of
a Veterinarians Certificate to the Show Secretary before the end of the respective show. Once a horse is vetted out of a class it will be considered vetted out of the entire
show.
SECURITY - Exhibitors are advised that it is their responsibility to secure all their valuables while on the show grounds. Arabian Springfest will not be responsible for
lost or stolen items. No security will be provided by the show.
SHARPS CONTAINERS: Refer to USEF GR1210. As per USEF rule GR1210.4, all used needles and other disposable sharp instruments must be placed in sharps
containers. Per rule GR 1210.4, competition management will fine any individual including trainers, owners, exhibitors and their agents $100.00 for improper disposal of
needles or other sharp disposable instruments.

SHOW OFFICE HOURS - The show office will open Thursday morning and remain open until approximately 9p.m. The show office will close 15 minutes prior to each
session and will reopen and remain open throughout each session unless otherwise posted or announced.Variations in these schedules will be announced. Contact

SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP - Each participant at an AHA Recognized Show, Division or Event must submit a valid AHA Membership with Competition Card,
Life Membership Card or join AHA (Membership with Competition Card) at the show or pay a $35 Single Event Membership fee per person, per show. SEM Fees are
not accepted at AHA Regional or National Shows. If the recorded owner is an entity (Farm, Ranch, Syndicate, etc.) and does not have a current AHA Business membership,
a Single Event Membership must be purchased for that entity.
STALLIONS - May be shown by ladies & Jr exhibitors except in Walk/Trot and Lead line. HA/AA colts/stallions may compete in weanling & yearling classes for
geldings; however, HA/AA colts/stallions, 2 yrs & older are excluded from all halter classes
STALLS - Stalls are mandatory for all horses, weanling or older All 10' x 10' stalls have doors and are under cover Aisles are to be kept clear at all times and are not to
be blocked with stall curtains. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR YOUR RESERVED STALLS. You have until 10:00 PM on the Sunday Evening before the show to
change your reservations, or you will be charged! No changes in stabling permitted without Barn Manager's permission NO STRAW ALLOWED AT ANY SHOW. All
stalls are in a HEATED, indoor barn. Shavings will be available for purchase or bring your own No nails or staples in stalls Show management reserves the right to limit

SMOKING IN THE BARN AREA
USEF MEMBERSHIP - Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the
Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A
nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions,
Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the
Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes
limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8)
Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner
novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

*A copy of both the ownership side (and pedigree side for purebred Arabians) of the current registration certificate of each horse entered must be sent along with the
entry form to the Show Secretary, or be presented in the show office for post entries.
** In the case of a sale or lease, it is required that a copy of the sale contract or lease, or statement from the owner be submitted with the copy of the current registration
certificate. Exhibitors showing in Amateur Owner classes must be listed as an owner of the horse they are exhibiting on the registration papers.
All entries must be made in writing on an official entry form for this show or photocopies of the same. Please use a ballpoint pen or typewriter to complete entry form.
Every owner, trainer, rider, driver, handler and parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor must sign the entry form and must be a member of USEF and AHA Competition
Member or pay the nonmember/single event fees. A horse may be entered in the name of his recorded owner or lessee only. The complete address and phone number of
the recorded owner or lessee must be given, even if an agent enters the horse. All horses belonging to one owner must be entered on one entry form. No horses may be
entered on more than one form.
