TBA CLASSES There are a limited number of To Be Announced (TBA) class spots and those classes will be filled and time slots will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis sent along with payment of fees. Choosing to hold the class requires a $30 fee. After the initial fee is paid, additional entries will pay the standard $25 to enter. Please request your class and time slot preference with your pre-entries. Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes points cannot be earned from any class on the TBA list.  

Any class on the AHA standard class list may be chosen, except the following divisions:  Sport horse in-hand, Sport horse under saddle, Sport horse show hack, Dressage, Poles, Hunter hack, Working hunter, Jumper, Working cow horse, Reined cow horse  

Any class purchased may be given any acceptable divisions, age splits or extensions from the standard AHA class list (i.e. ATR/Limit/AOTR/Open/JR Horse/etc).  

No TBA championship classes allowed.

USEF Membership Statement Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performanceFR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8)Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

USEF  RULES:  Every  class  offered  herein,  which  is  covered  by  the  rules  and specifications of  the  current USEF  Rule Book, will be  conducted  and  judged  in accordance  therewith  See  USEF  Rule  Book  for  Arabian  Horse  rules,  class descriptions  and  judging  specifications.  Any  changes  in  the  USEF  rules  will automatically become part of  this Prize List. The Show Committee  reserves  the right  to make  such  changes  in  procedure,  personnel,  rules  and  regulations  as deemed by them to be in the best interest of the show. 

ADMISSION TO ARENA: No person will be permitted  to enter  the arena except the  judges,  their  assistants,  the  exhibitors  in  the  class  and  the  show photographer. Headers will not be  permitted  in  the  arena until  summoned by order  of  the  Judge.  Show  arena  100x210,  clay  base/sand.  Warm  up  arena, 100x180, clay base/sand. 

ATTENDANTS: Headers entering the ring during any and all Walk/Trot and Driving Classes must be properly attired. A PLAIN UNMARKED SMOCK IS REQUIRED 

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES: Stalls available at 8AM on Thursday March 31, and all horses and equipment must be removed by 12.00 Noon on Monday, April 4. Anyone wishing to arrive earlier than Thursday or stay  later than Monday noon, must make special arrangements with Gordyville PH 217‐568‐7117 to stay off site until the stalls are put up in the barn.  Gordyville may charge for early arrival. Please check with them. 

CALL  FOR  CLASSES:  The  2‐minute  rule  will  be  STRICTLY  ENFORCED.  If  time  is needed  for a  tack  change,  the gate must be notified. All  tack  changes must be made at  the entrance gate  to  the show arena. The gate will close  two minutes after  the  first horse enters  the  ring or with  large classes  taking more  than  two minutes, the gate will close after the entrance of the final horse in a continuous string of horses. This rule will be strictly enforced! 

CAMPERS: If camping at Gordyville USA, there will be a fee per day for electrical hookups, payable to the Show Office. Contact Gordyville USA (217) 568‐7117. 

CASHING  CHECKS:  Personal  or  payback  checks will  not  be  cashed  in  the  Show Office, However, payback checks may be used to pay entry fees 

CLOSING OF  ENTRIES:  Entries  close March  10,  2017.  Entries  postmarked  after March 10, 2017 will be charged POST ENTRY FEES! This will be strictly enforced! Post entries will be accepted but must be made before the show office closes the night before for a morning session class, before the morning session ends for an afternoon session class, or before the afternoon session ends for an evening class A $5 post entry fee will be charged per class and $20 Per horse There will be no credit for swapping classes. No post‐dated checks.

CONDUCT:  Exhibitors  are  hereby  notified  that  any  act  of  discourtesy  or disobedience to the judge/officials on the part of the owner, trainer, rider or any other attendant, shall be grounds to disqualify the horse, and all entry fees and other charges and prize money won shall be forfeited. The Show Committee also bears  the  responsibility  to aid  the  judges  in avoiding contact with exhibitors or their agents before and during the show 

CRUELTY TO OR THE ABUSE OF A HORSE: By any person at a recognized show  is forbidden Excessive use of a whip on any horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, show ring, or elsewhere on the show grounds, before or during a show, by any person, constitutes a violation and renders the offender subject to penalty 

ENTRIES: ONE OWNER  PER  ENTRY  BLANK ONLY!!  Every  exhibitor,  rider,  driver, handler and trainer or his/her agent(s) must sign the entry blank IN THE CASE OF AN  OWNER,  TRAINER,  RIDER,  DRIVER  OR  HANDLER  UNDER  AGE  18,  HIS/HER PARENT OR  GUARDIAN, OR  IF  NOT  AVAILABLE,  THE  TRAINER, MUST  SIGN  AN ENTRY BLANK ONTHE MINOR'S  BEHALF.  PARENTS NEED NOT BE MEMBERS OF AHA OR USEF TO SIGN FOR A MINOR. Entries must include full addresses ,AHA, USEF membership numbers, etc Also,  for all  Junior exhibitors,  the Parent/Guardian section on  the entry form MUST be signed All fees, plus photo copies of Current year AHA/USEF membership cards, And Horse Papers must accompany entries  If you are not  in possession of your Current AHA membership card, or have a copy of  same, you will be  required  to pay a Single Event membership. The  submitting of an entry blank  to  the  Show  Secretary  shall  constitute  an  acceptance  by  each  person signing same of the provisions herein set forth in this Prize List.   

ENTRY  REFUSAL:  The  Show  Committee  reserves  the  right  to  refuse,  accept conditionally, or cancel any entries of any exhibitor at their discretion as stated in the current USEF Rule Book. 

FARRIER: No farrier other than the official farrier(s) will be permitted to shoe on the  grounds  without  the  express  permission  of  Show  Management.  Farriers granted this permission will be required to purchase Commercial Exhibitor space and provide proof of insurance. Official show farrier(s), the USEF Steward (s) and the judge are the final authorities on shoe and hoof measurements. 

FIRST AID: First Aid  treatment will be available during all performances  for  the duration of the horse show in accordance with USEF Rules. 

HEALTH PAPERS: The State of IL requires a negative Coggins test on all horses and 30  day  health  papers  on  all  out  of  state  horses,  and  as  of  2/1/2004  your veterinarian  must  also  obtain  an  entrance  permit  number  for  your  horse  by calling the Bureau of Animal Health at (217) 782‐4944. 

INDEMNITY  AND  NON‐RESPONSIBILITY  CLAUSE:  ARAB,  Inc,  the  Illinois  Arabian Horse  Association,  IlIini  Arabian  Horse  Club,  inc.,  Gordon  Hannagan  Auction Company will not be responsible for any loss, personal injury or damage to horses exhibited or for any kind or nature that may be  lost or destroyed or  in any way damaged 

INSURANCE ADVISORY: Due  to  the number and quality of horses, we urge each exhibitor to verify their  liability  insurance coverage and their  livestock mortality coverage with their own  insurance carrier(s). Be sure your coverage  is  in effect. The  show  accepts  no  responsibility  for  losses  sustained  or  caused  by  any exhibitor. 

JUDGES: The Show Committee reserves the right to substitute a Judge for the one who is officially designated in the Prize List, according to USEF Rules. No contact shall be made with the Judges during the period of the show unless accompanied by  a member  of  the  Show  Committee.  Further,  no  exhibitor  shall  approach  a Judge  regarding  a  decision  unless  he/she  first  obtains  permission  from  the Steward, who shall arrange an appointment with the Judge at a proper time and place. 

MOTORIZED  VEHICLES Minors who  do  not  have  a  valid  driver’s  license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted  to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind  including, but not limited  to,  golf  carts,  motorcycles,  scooters,  or  farm  utility  vehicles  on  the competition  grounds  of  licensed  competitions.  Minors  who  have  a  valid temporary  license may operate  the above described motorized vehicles as  long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s  license. The parent(s), 

legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of  a  minor  operating  a  motorized  vehicle  in  violation  of  this  rule  are  solely responsible  for  any  damages,  claims,  losses  or  actions  resulting  from  that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s)  and/or  trainer(s) who  are  responsible  for  the  child  committing  the offense.  Penalties  may  include  exclusion  of  the  child,  parent(s),  guardian(s), and/or  trainer(s)  from  the  competition  grounds  for  the  remainder  of  the competition  and  charges  being  filed  against  any  of  the  above  individuals  in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 

"NO  SHOW"  PENALTY  FEE:  To  expedite  flow  of  classes  scratches  MUST  be reported  to  the show office or Paddock Master before beginning of  the class  If scratches are not reported, a $30 "No Show" fee will be assessed This fee will be assessed each time there is "No Show" 

NUMBER OF ENTRIES  IN CLASS: Four (4) entries are necessary to fill a class. Any class  may  be  cancelled,  divided  or  combined  at  the  discretion  of  the  Show Management 

PA  SYSTEM: Due  to possible unforeseen problems with any mechanical device, the PA system & class calls over that system are considered a courtesy  It  is the exhibitor's responsibility to have his/her horse at the gate at the prescribed time. While every effort will be made to maintain a working PA system, no protest will be upheld nor will any section be changed on basis of a PA breakdown 

PAYMENT: No entries shall be accepted without full payment. No BLANK or POST DATED CHECKS accepted  for pre‐entries or stall  reservations! Entries submitted with bad checks will not be processed and will be  returned  to applicant. There will be a $25  charge per check  for all checks  returned by  the bank  In addition, interest of 1 1/2% per month will be assessed all outstanding accounts Returned checks not paid within two weeks after being notified will be turned over to USEF and AHA The show checking accounts will be closed sixty (60) days after the show No prize money checks will be honored after that date. 

PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR:  All riders (including junior riders) in hunter, jumper, and hunt  seat  equitation  classes,  where  jumping  is  required  and  when  jumping anywhere  on  competition  grounds,  are  required  to  wear  properly  fastened protective  headgear which meets  or  exceeds ASTM  standards.   Any  rider may wear protective headgear in any division or class without penalty from the judge.  USEF  strongly  encourages  all  riders  to  wear  protective  headgear.    It  is  the responsibility of the rider, parent, guardian, or trainer of the  junior exhibitor to see that the headgear worn complies with safety standards and is properly fitted and in good condition. Refer to current USEF Rule Book. 

REFUNDS: All fees for entries cancelled before March 18, 2017 will be refunded Refunds of class entry fees only will be made after this date upon presentation of  a Veterinarians Certificate to the Show Secretary before the end of the respective show. Once a horse is vetted out of a class it will be considered vetted out of the entire show 

SHARPS CONTAINERS: Refer to USEF GR1210. As per USEF rule GR1210.4, all used needles  and  other  disposable  sharp  instruments  must  be  placed  in  sharps containers. Per rule GR 1210.4, competition management will fine any individual including  trainers,  owners,  exhibitors  and  their  agents  $100.00  for  improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments.

SHOW  OFFICIALS:  In  the  event  that  an  official  fails  to  attend  these  shows  or perform his/her duties, due to an illness, injury or other circumstance, the show committee reserves the right to substitute another official for the one designated in accordance with USEF  rules SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP: Each participant at an AHA Recognized Show, Division or Event must submit a valid AHA Membership with  Competition  Card,  Life Membership  Card  or  join  AHA  (Membership with Competition Card) at  the  show or pay a $35  Single Event Membership  fee per person, per show. SEM Fees are not accepted at AHA Regional or National Shows. If  the  recorded owner  is an entity  (Farm, Ranch,  Syndicate, etc.) and does not have a current AHA Business membership, a Single Event Membership must be purchased for that entity. 

STALLIONS: May be shown by ladies & Jr exhibitors except in Walk/Trot and Lead line.  HA/AA  colts/stallions  may  compete  in  weanling  &  yearling  classes  for geldings; however, HA/AA colts/stallions, 2 yrs & older are excluded from all halter classes

Filling Out and Signing ENTRIES When a minor is Involved…       There have been some questions from exhibitors and officials about who should sign in certain areas on the entry blank when a minor is involved. Below are some guidelines to follow… A  parent  or  guardian  (agent,  trainer,  etc.) must  sign  in  the  “Parent/Guardian” section on the entry blank. If a minor has a trainer other than the parent, the trainer must sign the trainer section  and  if  the  trainer  has  consent  from  the  parent;  can  also  sign  the “Parent/Guardian” section of the entry blank. If  the minor  is  the  trainer  of  the  horse,  then  the  name  of  the minor must  be included in the “print  trainer  name”  section;  however,  the  parent  must  sign  the  “Trainer” signature  line on behalf of  the minor  including  (parent) beside  their  signature. Since  the minor  is considered  the  trainer  (but  just can’t  legally sign)  the parent signing the “Trainer” line does not have to be a member 

Class Specifications 

LEAD LINE, RIDERS 2 TO 6 YEARS OLD: Handlers must be 16 years of age or older. Horses to be led by on a loose line at a walk on the rail both ways of  the  ring. The  safety of all exhibitors must be of primary  consideration during  this  class.  Safety  is of  the utmost importance in tack and attire. Saddle must fit rider, rider’s feet must be engaged in the stirrups/irons, leading rein may be attached to the cavesson or halter placed under or over  the bridle.  It  is strongly encouraged  that  riders wear protective headgear  (ASTM/SEI). Boots are required. To be judged on child's seat & rein. Riders may not show in any other performance class except Walk‐Trot.  

WALK/TROT CLASSES: Walk/Trot  classes are open  to  riders aged 10 & under. Walk/Trot  riders must never have been  judged at a recognized competition that required a canter or lope. Walk/Trot riders may only enter Showmanship or Halter classes at the show  

SCHOOLING CLASSES: Open to all riders. Horses may be shown in training equipment. Horses are to be shown at a walk, trot/jog and canter. These classes will not be judged and ribbons will not be awarded.

Membership requirements for participation in Amateur Restricted classes:  As a competitor in an amateur class at a United States Equestrian Federation licensed competition under GR106 Amateur Classes, every contestant must hold amateur status. There are no Show Passes allowed for these classes.  Equine Canada members in possession of current EC membership may sign for USEF Amateur status by completing the USEF membership application with their personal information, signature and date of birth then check the “Amateur” box in order to be eligible to compete. They are not required to pay for a USEF membership or a Show Pass fee.  According to GR1307.1 only active Federation members may obtain amateur status. According to GR 1307.4 if a person violates or does not comply with the above, he/she will not be eligible to compete in amateur classes and will not be entitled to an award in such classes and will be deemed guilty of a violation within the meaning of Chapter 7 in the event he/she does compete. All individuals with the exception of active Equine Canada members must complete USEF membership application, by selecting a competing membership and declaring amateur status in section number 3 by marking amateur status then sign in ink. USEF membership dues should be returned to USEF’s office, 4047 Iron Works Parkway Lexington KY. 40511 USA or included with the Post Competition report.  

GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied bydocumentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus(Rhinopneumonitis)vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses notin compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon requestby Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methodsmentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccinemanufacturers’ or veterinarian’s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines areadministered by or under the direction of a veterinarian.

2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request byCompetition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documentingthat the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date ofvaccine administration.

3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, theexhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccinepurchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of thehorse; name, serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccineadministration.

4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to ahistory of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, mustprovide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse inquestion cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperaturestaken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. Thesehorses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on thecompetition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the CompetitionManagement, steward, or technical delegate when requested.5. Competition Management may not amend or enhance vaccination requirementswithout priorapproval of the Veterinary Committee.BOD 1/17/15 Effective 12/1/15.

The flu vaccination information can be added to either document, a health certificate or a negative Coggins test.

If Competition Management chooses to verify the required documentation, any competitor that fails to provide the appropriate documentation of vaccination pursuant to the new rule may be asked to remove the horse from the grounds.

AHA ENTRY AGREEMENT I have read the rules concerning competitions as printed in the Arabian Horse Association® (AHA®) Handbook / Directory and Competitions Prize List and agree to be bound by and subject to those Rules.AHA ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION This document waives very important legal rights.
