C APT K ARLA S AVANA O PERATIONS F LIGHT C OMMANDER D ET 840 A SSISTANT P ROFESSOR —D EPT OF A EROSPACE S TUDIES First Lieutenant Karla Savana received her commission in 2014 through Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) at the University of Texas, San Antonio. She has served in various roles as a Logistics Readiness Officer to include the Logistics Liaison Officer to the 611th Air Support Squadrons (ASUS) Alaska Radar Site Contract, 611 ASUS Mission Support Deputy Flight Commander, 611 ASUS Quality Assurance Flight Commander, and 611 ASUS Squadron Executive Officer. Additionally, Lieutenant Savana led Pacific Air Forces largest support agreement program with 79 agreements and recovered 32 million dollars in reimbursements. Her keen management ensured identification and correction of 201 discrepancies and enabled a 99 percent radar uptime rate, securing 663,000 square miles of Alaskan air space. Her efforts directly supported 21 remote locations, 401 personnel, and facility maintenance and upgrades for 7.1 billion dollars of infrastructure. As the Detachment 840 Operations Flight Commander, she is responsible for cadet wing operations to include Leadership Laboratory and physical training to prepare cadets in their pursuit of a commission as an Air Force officer. As Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, Lieutenant Savana instructs hands-on leadership courses on The Evolutions of USAF Air and Space Power, Ethics and Advanced Leaderships Skills, and National Security Affairs.
